It works far better than an app on my phone, but it's still not a paper book as far as I am concerned. It is, however, easier to read in the evening. I'm still getting used to it. I don't foresee using it for anything other than for e-books

My phone is faster. Woul rather have any iPad. But not bad for the price I guess. Overall I don't really recommend.

However, there is no way to buy the ad-free version from BB (I asked Amazon). It's still a good deal but add $15 to the price if you don't want idle broadcast adds from Amazon.

As you stated, this device is sold with lock screen ads called "Special Offers". And while Best Buy does not offer the product without these Special Offers at the higher price, you are able to pay a one time fee through your Amazon profile Devices page by clicking to Remove Special Offers. This will allow you to have the lock screen ads removed permanently under your profile and device. We have these in place to allow for the highest discount available to keep this aggressively value priced.
