4k tv with bad software? Here's your answer.

I bought this for a new 4k tv that my parents got in their room. It was one of the 4k TVs that are cheap (decent picture) and have really poor "smart" features. The UI is sluggish and glitchy, and just is borderline unusable. My parents also don't have cable in their room, so they wanted to be able to watch all the streaming services on a better platform. You cant go wrong with this. The remote is simple and easy to understand for people of all ages. The picture is really good. The integration with Amazon Echo is helpful to my parents (play, pause, "alexa, play (insert show here)". I know there are better and more expensive options like the Nvidia shield, android TV ones, and so on. But for $50, this is everything you need to turn a dumb "smart" tv, into an actually SMART "smart" tv. I would buy this for myself if I had a TV like that. My TV has a good native UI and software so I don't need it. But if I did get a second cheap 4k tv for another room, I'd be perfectly happy with getting this for it.

I purchased the fire stick a months ago and have used it everyday. I previously owned the original fire stick and this time we purchased the 4K fire stick. It works very well, fast to load and extremely clear picture. The remote is awesome too because we don’t use our tv remote anymore. Easy to learn the control functions of the remote

Easy to install and use. The remote comes with a button that opens the apps that we use the most. Easy to use since no need to navigate in menu and find the app. Compared to the previous generation FireStick, I notice that there is a performance improvement as well. Good buy.

First I was thinking of Ordering on amazon but then Best Buy is always my Go to store for my electronics. I love everything about this 4K firebrick. Shows great in my Samsung tv also purchased from bestbuy. Very easy to setup and use and I live the voice controlled feature as well. Would definitely recommend this product.

Fire stick is perfect. I own the fire stick for years, never had really any problems with it. Maybe the battery life is short for controller. Also, the 4K fire stick is bigger upgrade, which you now could turn on and off the tv straight from the fire stick remote and change the volume too. Finally, now can watch 4K video with this fire stick.

To give an idea, I’ve been a roku user since about 2015 or 2016, and we have tried various streaming services over the years such as YouTube TV, sling, Hulu, fubo, etc. Roku is good don’t get me wrong. I have a roku premiere from about 2016 that has been a good unit and works great, can do 4K etc. So what brings up the fire stick is that I recently helped my in laws get set on streaming, they use YouTube TV, and canceled their direct TV. As most probably know Google and roku are in a dispute. Trying to be proactive I bought them a fire stick and set it up for them. In the setting up of their fire stick, I discovered I liked the fire stick, and felt like they had a better picture on screen, and the interface isn’t bad once you get used to it. Suffice to say, I ended up buying on for myself. We still have a few roku devices in the house that will stay. Didn’t care for 50 bucks for the 4K device, but the price is fair. If you get one of the lower models, I recommend the ones with TV controls on the remote.

I purchased this to replace my first Fire TV stick that did not support 4K as I needed this for my 4K TV. It works great and is easy to add to your home theater system or for a standalone addition to an HD monitor. The remote works well with my other devices and adding other streaming services is easy.

I bought it to stream 4K Dolby Digital to my tv not expecting much for the price. Was very pleasantly surprised on how much faster and better it works than older versions. It is very responsive, with no lag at all. And I love the new remote with the volume control. It even controls my sound bar. Picture quality is also terrific.

Bought this on sale around $30 and, for the money, it was the best valued streaming device. If all you do is use mainstream apps (Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu, etc...) this is an excellent streaming device to have It runs the Fire TV OS, which I'm not a huge fan of personally, but that also runs on top of Android and side-loading other Android apps is fairly easy to do with just a little research and expands this devices usability tenfold The biggest drawback of the device is its limited storage. 8GB may fill up quite fast, depending on how many apps you regularly use. Another drawback is that this device is WiFi only out of the box with no ethernet inputs or adapters included, so if your TV is in a spotty WiFi section of your house, it may drop connection. The WiFi was actually never an issue for me but I still ended up getting a USB + Ethernet hub which resolved both or those limitations The remote can control both the device and the TV its connected to so the power and volume buttons work for the TV itself. I don't use the Alexa voice function much but, in my limited use, those have nice functions too. Those can also change the power and volume but also allow for changing the input channel of the TV. The remote with the voice functions could control anything in your media center. On screen typing with this remote, and frankly any like it, is a chore and I'll likely end up getting an air mouse keyboard remote eventually All-in-all, a great value streaming device. Have also been considering the Fire TV Cube recently. That can do everything the 4K TV Stick does, plus more as its a lot more powerful. However, its also much more expensive and if all you need is a cheap streaming device for your content, the 4K TV Stick is the way to go

    Whole House HD Music

I bought three units for the specific purpose of creating a whole house music system streaming Amazon Music HD. They are each plugged into a receiver in different rooms and the Firesticks are grouped in the Alexa app to play in sync. Each Firestick can then be adjusted in 1 ms increments to get in perfect sync for your environment. I was using the Heos app with my Denon's but it really sucked to be honest as songs would skip after playing for a few seconds and made the listening a negative experience. The Firestick setup has not failed yet and it is a cheap alternative to hardwiring a whole house or using the wireless speakers such as Sonos. I used my older receivers and my high end Klipsch speakers so only cost was the Firestick's for awesome sounding high resolution music. And, as it is all wireless, I can modify the setup however I need to. As far as the video streaming it is as good as my Roku's and the remote can be used as a universal remote for your receiver and tv.

I really like this new device as it packs a lot of power at a great price. The new remote control is very handy as well. No more searching for the TV remote to adjust the volume or turn off the power. The only thing I expected to have more memory, not just 8GB other than that it's a great device I recommend it

This is the easiest to install electronics item that I have purchased in several years. It works very well and has instantly enabled my TV for a full range of sources. I wish that I had purchased it the minute it came on the market. I also cannot believe how inexpensive it was. Buy it!

Great alternative to Apple TV with basically the same features. 4K option is nice added touch but 4K Tv needed. Love the new controller that now has volume/ tv function so you never have to switch remotes. Easy to set up/use and super portable to take anywhere with you. Highly recommend!

I pre-ordered the 4K Fire Stick not sure what I'd get. It's the bomb. Easiest set up yet. Fast and great video quality. Way better than my Pendant. It discovered my LG TV and commands in literally under 3 seconds. I timed it and you can see it on my Youtube video. Now I can control my video streams completely with just one remote. And the quality is insane. Thank you so much.

Easy to use and a great way to get all of your apps on one device. Very affordable. It was between this and a Roku stick. I know you can side load things on this if you want to, officially not recommended, so 4K Fire Stick wins! I have 4 Fire Sticks throughout my home. Way better than most smart tv apps.

This is the best version Amazon has made to date. Wireless is fast. The device is overall more responsive. It handles 4K videos just fine. Simple setup if you already have an Amazon account. Volume control can control your tv or AV receiver (nice addition). I bought it on sale for $35. Without expandable storage or ability to connect usb devices or micro SD card without purchasing additional adapters, I prefer my Android set top boxes. Especially at the same price range. If you just want it for Prime videos, Netflix and such, this is a great deal at $35 on sale.

This is the best and easy streaming media player in the market. In addition, many of us have an account with Prime and don’t know that you already paying for this. If you are one of those with Prime account you should buy this and used your account to the fullest potential and watch all kind of shows, series, movies and event music. This is one of the best streamers I have tested and even though is not perfect is by far the easiest and user friendly of all! Great price but wait for the special that FireStick bring every few months and buy it for $25+_ . The only downside is that it should have more memory to accommodate all the apps that I like. Did I mention that you can take it with you when you travel and used it as your tv connectivity every where you go. I have used the cellphone as a hot spot to make it work and it’s fantastic. It may be difficult to understand to some of you at the beginning but ones you learn you will love it!
