My son loves to read, but we ran out of books during the pandemic, and I didn’t want him reading from a computer screen due to eye strain. This definitely fits the bill. I also like that it is strictly reading. I also like that you can set a timer, as he often reads before bed (and would keep reading until I stop him). I can see all the books that he has read from the parent app (and some have reading comp questions). I think he has read about 4,000 pages since he got it six weeks ago, so he is definitely enjoying it. The UI has room for improvement, but it is workable. The kid’s FreeTime for a year for free is a huge bonus. There are a ton of good books in there.
We gave the second one to my mother-in-law for Mother’s Day, and she loves it too. It has a case included and a protection plan, so it made more sense than getting the standard kindle (especially with the bundle).

This has no physical changes compared to a normal 10th generation Kindle without advertisements. However, it comes with a free year of Amazon Kids+, extended warranty, and exclusive case design.
If you don't have kids, just create a fake child profile and disable auto-renew (you can only do this in a web browser, not the Kindle).

I bought this for my daughter who is 7, so that she could continue to read during the shut down. At her age, picture books are still high on the reading list, and while this device displays them, resizing the pages so that the text is readable is very wonky. As a matter of fact, navigation as a whole is terrible. Very often turning a page jumps several pages or maybe even a chapter. Want to borrow a library book? That is a whole other overly complex task. When my daughter starts reading mainly chapter books, this device might rate 4 stars but for now I can only give 3, and that is mainly due to the included warranty, and the included freetime.

The 10th Gen Kids Kindle is a fantastic value. My son uses it daily, and it extremely happy about the number of books he is able to pull up on it. The device is tough, and the case is protective enough. This is the second one we have bought, and both of my kids that have them are happy with them.

I got this for my friend's daughter for her birthday. The screen is amazing. Dont hurt your eyes like a phone. No adds or other apps installed. She can also listen her audio books. It came with a cover and a year membership, free books. What else you can ask for.

Love the kindle. Easy to use, my kid is glued to it, and picks this up over the ipad now. So many books to choose from, been using the Freetime Unlimited a bit, which has some good selections but a little limited. Able to download and borrow a lot of library books which is amazing. Keeps its charge for a while too.

This kindle is the same as the regular 10th generation Kindle with an extra year of warranty and a fun cover as well as access to many children’s books if you would like to read them.

Bought this for my wife. This is her second reader. She adores it. Perfect size for her hands and easy to enlarge to the easiest size to read. Glad I bought this model. Would purchase again.

This has made a huge difference in our 7 year old grandson's life. Before he was reading maybe a total of 1 hour a week..first week he clocked in at 7.5 hours...second week he was reading 10.5 hours and loving it. The ways he can track his own achievements has been very motivating..and parents can track what he is doing as well. This was worth every penny! This is his activity of choice when he has some free time between his virtual classes...or when he wakes up in the morning...or before he goes to bed at night!

My son hates to read so we thought it would be a good idea to gift him this for his birthday as today's youth are more into technology. He loved it! He's been reading everyday now.

A little smaller than I had imagined but the interface, weight, and design make this a perfect portable reader. Easy to use and worth it if on sale or part of a deal.
