there's so much lag in the interface that it seems like dial-up internet in the 90s; reading functions are varied and adequate, but having to wait 12 minutes for a menu to load is way too annoying at this price point

My wife had one I bought her 9 years or so ago It was getting harder to deal with This one has a back light and you can change the intensity and work great

My hands are rather large and this kindle case styling accommodate them rather well. The soft night light feature is great on my older eyes while reading at night.

I gave this 4 stars because although I love the product, it malfunctioned within the first 3 weeks and would never charge to 100%. However I contacted Amazon directly for technical support and they overnighted a replacement Oasis which works perfectly.

As the Oasis name implies, this device was made to get wet and read (digitally) in the sun. It's thin and durable too.

…for me! I’ve had the Kindle app on my iPad and iPhone for years and I’ve enjoyed it very much. Lately, though, the light from reading on them has been bothering me and giving me headaches. So I decided to finally buy a Kindle. After much studying, I decided on the Oasis. I like the size and weight of it so I know I won’t mind carrying it in my bag. It’s waterproof for a few feet so I feel safer reading it in the tub or floating in the pool. I prefer advancing and backing up in the stories using the buttons rather than tapping w/my finger. And I can control the warmth of the light so no more eye pain. Also, the Kindle can be read under direct sunlight unlike my tablet or phone. There are more inexpensive and larger Kindles available. The Scribe is more expensive and bigger. But I find the Oasis is the one for me. Purchasing it from Best Buy rather than Amazon was the better deal and I received it quickly and well packaged. Highly recommend!

Its the best e-reader out there. Improvement to the back light was a great improvement.

This is my 3rd kindle. Very good if you like to read books. I like the options to switch from white background to black background.

Kind of slow, freezes up sometimes. Purchased the monthly unlimited books but unfortunately excludes a lot of books from popular publication companies. Disappointed...
