Love the larger screen size and clearer type. These things alone would not have made my update from the voyage worth it. However the warm light, coupled with dark mode, makes this a fantastic bedside reader. Absouno issues with battery life either. Very pleased.

Really love the balance of the asymmetrical design. The warm lighting truly makes it look like I’m reading on real paper too. Battery lasts all week. It does not matter to me if it’s micro usb and not usb c because I only charge it once every couple of weeks!

I purchased the 32gb for more storage. This Oasis is head and shoulders over all its competitors. I can bookmark, make screen brighter, make letters size and easy to read for my 73yr old eyes. The color of paper is like soft newspaper color making it eye-friendly, and eliminates eye strain. Page turning swipe or use tabs so ingenious. And u can turn notebook upside so as to position tabs if you are righty or lefty. Kindle people put all its best and innovative-ness into the Oasis and dollar for dollar the best value all around. I know its next model is hundreds less. For me its worth makes it all the difference. Just the soft coloring in background is a game changer.

Nice sized screen and very light. Still a bit too late slow to read comics with and sometimes it crashes and I have to restart the device. I found out that awz format is the one that works with it converting through calibre instead of mobi. The buttons were actually not that big of a help as I thought it would be. The backlight is great and it's awesome to be able to get a warmer color on the monitor to read before bed.

Outstanding device and has reinvigorated my love for reading. I read at home, on flights, at airport, hotels, everywhere. This is compact, light, and the battery is outstanding. It also doesn’t strain my eyes. I also subscribed to the kindle unlimited - 99c a month for 3 months and so far it’s super easy to navigate. I only complain as it’s not really unlimited in that some books still aren’t included, so they’re stretching it a bit.

Have had no issues with the Kindle Oasis, beyond a bit of unintuitive operation, quickly sorted with a how to. Backlight and functionality both exceed expectations and the battery life is excellent.

This is by far the best kindle I’ve owned, I bounced between this and the scribe. Well for almost $200 extra I don’t think it’s worth it to take notes as I’m reading?!? I got it to read not draw.

it's a big price upgrade, but worth it for me. I love the buttons as it allows you to read one handed. this is a real splurge for me as it actually replaces an oasis i already owned and had left on airplane. it's worth it though. this one has warm light, not that much of an upgrade from previous version.

I love my little kindle oasis. It is the best way to take all of your books with you in a compact form. This is the "fanciest" model from amazon, and it has the price tag for it too. The kindle oasis does feel very premium with the aluminum body, however I do feel it is kind of pricey for what you get. I enjoy it and will not be returning it, but get it on sale if you can. I enjoy the ability to have a backlight if you are reading at night and the ability to adjust the warmth of the light to make it easier on the eyes. Overall, I'd recommend finding it on sale, but otherwise I think the paperwhite is pretty close in quality with a nicer price.

As a disclaimer, I am new to ebook readers, and so I do not have much experience to serve as a frame of reference while making this review. However, I chose this model as I wanted to have (at least close to) the best reader available so that I could have the most enjoyable experience while using it. That being said, owning and using the Kindle Oasis thus far has been a fairly satisfying experience. Without the benefit of directly comparing it with other lower spec'd readers (screen size, display quality / resolution, speed, extra features, etc.), I feel that I would likely be wanting more from such "lesser" readers. I certainly appreciate the relatively larger screen (as I otherwise consider it to be somewhat small), and the ability to adjust the white/yellow balance of the screen so that it is easier on my eyes. The two complaints I have so far is that of ergonomics: 1) the 2 side buttons could be better positioned so that they could be reached easier from where my thumb is naturally positioned while holding the device, and 2) The change in thickness of the back of the device makes it feel somewhat awkward to hold. I would rather that the thickness be uniform throughout, or that the edge of the "bump out" (where your fingers would grip the device) be a convex rather than concave shape, in order to provide a more comfortable and more secure feeling while holding the device. I do need to find a protective cover, which might potentially alleviate or eliminate my 2nd criticism. Otherwise, I am happy with the device.

This is one of the pricier Kindles but the Oasis by design is my favorite to hold and read with, as its underside has a ridged grip area, it has two buttons for page turning, and is easily the lightest weight ereader I've encountered so far. The picture quality of the e-ink surface is better than my older Kindle, and also noticeably a bit better than my latest generation Nook, so while I prefer patronizing Barnes & Noble the easier experience with the Oasis has made me reconsider a lot of purchases and put them on the Oasis. Only downside I can see if it does go through the battery faster if you use the backlighting, so battery life is not as good as other ereaders.

this kindle is extremely expensive but well worth it if you can get a lot of use out of it. I have this for a while now and noticed it would only charge up to 97%. However, everything else is still working great. Easy to use. I love the hold and the buttons. Very different from the other kindles and this is my favorite.

I have had a Kindle for years i upgraded whenever i could. I got my whole family hooked and even went to kindles for online use. My Mama loved hers until the day she died. I love to read and with kindle unlimited I have gotten to read and love a variety of books I never would have known. The newest has come a long way from my first one. It is light great to read from and text can be enlarged which helps my eyes as i have grown up as well and need a little extra help. It turns great and in its cover really feels like a book. I can’t imagine life without it. The benefit is I already have so many books because it is so hard for me to let them go and I have ran out of room. My kindle holds so many books i have gotten and with unlimited it is a fabulous adventure into many types of literature. You want be disappointed with this purchase, worth every penny.

I got this to replace a super old Paperwhite. I wanted the page turn buttons, the warm light, and the waterproof. All those are great, and it feels great to hold. The only reason that this isn’t a 5-star item is that it does not support DRM-free ePub flies. Which means I have to convert and side load via USB. If they added native ePub support it would be perfect. But for most users that buy from Amazon or use library books, this should be a perfect reader.

The kindle Oasis has been a great replacement for the iPad we had previously used for reading books. The narrow focus on the device helps you stick to enjoying your books and reduce the strain on your eyes with the various light settings. It's worth the money to splurge for this if you read weekly.
