Cool Design but Software is blah!

I'm 20% into a book on my Oasis and I have a good grip on how I feel about the Oasis. It is a real cool gadget and it's thin as can be! I love how light it's and the page turning buttons are a hoot! The software is a little archaic and gee whiz I'm so over the advertisements when I wake the Oasis from sleeping. I have other expensive devices and none of them try to over advertise when I wake them up. That for me is a super big downfall since this is a expensive piece of equipment. I also love that it has a dictionary built in because it brushes up my knowledge of words if I find one I'm not familiar with. So get this if you don't mind dropping a good chunk of money but the software needs some real updating!

I bought this for my wife who happens to be a librarian (I know, ironic). Her library has something called Libby, where she can rent "digital" books for a period of time and return, just like physical books. She likes this because she doesn't need to lug around heavy books and track later for due dates and whatnot. It took some research to bite the bullet on this. For the price, it made me more hesitant because nobody could give me a straight answer whether or not Libby worked for the Oasis. I got a lot of mixed answers, but in the end I went ahead and bought it anyway. So, for anyone asking the same question: does Libby or Overdrive work for Oasis? Yes, it does. But, it doesn't install Apps. You would have to setup your libby account and make Amazon Kindle as your default reader. Then, as you rent books, it will send it to your Kindle account and you can then download it to the Oasis. According to my wife, she likes the comfort of holding the Oasis in one had, and if said hand gets tired, you can switch to the other hand, it reorients that page itself. It is light weight, and the battery seems to last a good while. She has not had to charge it since the first full charge, which is a week now. She has had many kindle products before, but this one is by far her favorite!
