Great device, shame about the commercials. I am no ready to pay to get rid of them when I bought the Kindle.

I really enjoy reading so having a device that feels as much like a book as a device could is nice. I still prefer real paper but for travel and cost you can't go wrong with a kindle. The photo is of the case I bought as well. I would highly recommend getting a case.

Great display and excellent battery life. The size is perfect (just small enough to take places but big enough to read off of). I thought I'd have a problem with reading this instead of books, but I honestly prefer the kindle to an actual book. It had dark mode, which is great for reading at night. I absolutely love that you can hightlight, mark-up, and look up the definitions to words easily.

Bought the Kindle Paperwhite for my wife, who loves reading novels. This thing is perfect—crisp screen, adjustable backlight, lightweight, and a battery that seems to last forever.
It’s great for nighttime reading without lighting up the whole room, and it keeps everything discreet (no awkward book covers lying around). She uses it constantly, and it’s easily one of her favorite devices.
Highly recommend for anyone who reads a lot and wants a comfortable, private, and high-quality reading experience.

This is a great functioning device and very intuitive to use by my nine-year-old. The only downside is not being able to divorce this from Amazon as I would like to load from Libby or overdrive directly to the device rather than having to use the very convoluted process to get library books on the Kindle. The addition of the paperwhite screen has been very beneficial for late night reading on the e-ink screen. The devices battery holds a really good charge, especially consider there’s a back screen. It would be nice if the automatic brightness was either there or function a little better to turn off when there’s ambient light. I don’t think the cost over the normal Kindle justifies itself with the back light, I wish it was cheaper, especially since it’s getting close to the base iPad pad price.

This is my wife’s second kindle in 8 years. We bought her one years ago while she was pregnant with our son and we knew she was getting a c-section. It didn’t make sense for her to have to lug around physical copies while in recovery and also having to get up for a new book from her TBR when she was done with a book if she didn’t have to. Of course I could run her books around but we had 3 other kids at the time. So getting her a kindle was the best thing we ever did. She can finish a book in about 3-5 days so this made transitioning between books way smoother and it connects to her good reads. Her old kindle started lagging a few months ago so I got her this one for Christmas. She loves the color it’s really vibrant. And it’s way faster and way more responsive. I think she also finished books even faster with this thing lol

Perfect to take anywhere. It’s lightweight. You can read it while outside on the beach. The charge lasts a really long time. Definitely worth buying, especially if your an avid reader.

I considered the color versions of the Kindle e-readers, but found their contrast to be too low for comfort, and opted for this model. I think I'm glad I did...since the text is crisp and clear (in sufficient light, or with the backlight on). Its battery usage is wonderful, lasting typically a week or two with fairly heavy use.
My one complaint, so far, at least, besides the gray-scale pictures, is that signing in is frustrating in low light. I normally leave the backlight off, since I typically have sufficient light to read without it. However, when I need to turn on the device (which I have passcode-protected), it turns on the backlight during the initial start-up, but then, inexplicably, turns it OFF when asking for the code. This is very annoying, and requires unnecessary planning ahead to ensure that the backlight is ON at this point (by turning it on, then shutting off the device).
The user interface is a little clunky, compared to the Kindle app on iPhone, but since I spend the vast majority of my time with the device simply reading, it's not a major issue.

I love my new Kindle. I can adjust the font size and brightness of the screen so that i can read longer without my eyes getting tired. Stays charged for a long time.

Absolutely worth it for battery life and screen brightness alone. Cases for it were also super easy to find and my wife got one that has a strap for her hand to allow for comfortable reading. The unit is incredibly lightweight so it's not really an issue either way, but I'm at least glad it's protected. Definitely grab it during a sale as they can get a bit pricey.

I purchased the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 16GB (2024) for my wife’s birthday, and she absolutely loves it. The screen is very clear and easy on the eyes, even after long reading sessions. She really likes how lightweight it is, and the 16GB of storage is more than enough for all her books. The battery life is impressive — she can read for days without needing to charge it. It’s a perfect upgrade from her older Kindle. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a reliable and comfortable e-reader!

The Kindle is easy to use, responsive, and has great battery life. I appreciate that it has dark mode and you can adjust the screen brightness. I’ve been trying to get back into reading and this has helped so much! I’ve read 21 books since June 1st! It is easy to send books from Libby to the Kindle app.
