Use when the glare is too much for an iPad.

Better screen quality but slow

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not sure why this brand new model wakes up (after you open the cover) as slow as my 2015 Paperwhite. Yes, it is faster when you actually navigate menu and library but no one really does a lot of navigation/browsing. It is usually open one book and then for another few days (depending how often and fast you read) it is mainly - open cover, read, close cover. And it is kind of annoying to open the cover and wait couple of seconds until it wakes up and renders the page. I tried Kobo Libra 2 and Sage, and both of them wake up almost instantly while even having better looking screen. The only downside is I have a large library of books in my Kindle library and it is simply more convenient to stay in the same ecosystem.
