I love this. I'm usually electronically challenged, but was happy to find this very easy to use. I read a lot and find this easier than holding a book. I love that you can change the font size.

Scored this during the Black Friday promotion for $85. Device has a bit of a learning curve for those new to e-readers or those upgrading from prior Kindle models. Slightly disappointed in the number of newspaper and magazine options, but that's not necessarily a fault of the Paperwhite. Text is extremely easy to read, and pages are easy to navigate once you learn the controls, Device is lightweight, particularly compared to older Kindles. Dedicated use to the Paperwhite will reduce eye strain via blue light (phone & tablet exposure). This is a great way to encourage yourself to distraction free, focused reading. Now, all I need is a case to take this on the road, and find some extended leisure to catch up on a few quality reads.

Waterproof and light, bought this one for in bed and bathtub reading to use instead of the Oasis 2. (The oasis 2 is just to big and heavy for comfortable reading). The biggest con for this model is that the power button is on the bottom edge right in the middle. This results in a lot of accidental pressing from, what is for me, the most natural way to hold the kindle. Essentially one-handed with the lower edge resting on my pinky finger. The pixel quality is obviously not as good as the oasis, but it's fine. The original Oasis is still my favorite by far and is the one that lives in my backpack which goes with me everywhere. The Oasis 2 is a major disappointment. One step forward with the waterproof feature, three steps back with weight, non grippy metal body, and size. I'd pick this new paperwhite with it's waterproofing and lightness over any of the other currently available models. I use this kindle without a cover.

I read a lot and keeping all my books in my bag is too heavy. My ipad would run out of juice in a few hours... so what do you do? Buy a kindle. It lasts for weeks and reads closer to paperback. Plus it holds a ton of books.

Upgraded from and older kindle. Have enjoyed how smooth the kindle runs and feels. And like the option to read in the bath without worrying about dropping it or splashing it. Happy with the choice to upgrade.

I was really surprised/impressed with how nice this new 2018 Kindle paperwhite was when it first arrived. When I first opened it I could tell it seemed longer, and maybe the wider bezel around it is for readers who prefer to read without a case, offering a better grip. Just guessing. I have both the Oasis, (both versions), and the Voyage, (a couple of them gifts and wonderful ereaders, I’ve thought), and I have loved them and still do, so I wasn’t expecting to really be impressed with this new ereader. I like to have an extra ereader or two so when my friends come to visit, we can all sit around and read if we want when we’re tired of going.

I bought this for my 93 year old mother. She is an avid reader. Since libraries are closed due to Covid-19, she did not have access to books. The Kindle paperwhite is only 6+ ounces has a really good light and you can increase the size of the font fairly easily. 4 star = not user friendly for Kindle beginners.

This very nice size. Not too small feels perfect as a book. 8GB for regular usage is enough. BestBuy is always good at quality, this one has no defect until now. It was perfect gift of my Valentine!!

I read a lot so I really appreciate the reduced eye strain and, even though I read a lot, I only charge it every couple of weeks.

It’s the perfect Kindle. It’s small, lightweight, has a built-in light, and is now water-resistant. Kindles were great before but being able to use this in the pool or bath without worry is a game-changer. I love it.

I like the Kindle paperwhite for reading books. It is easy to see; pages turn readily back and forth. However, I do have one complaint: I borrow books from the library, and have to go to my computer to borrow them. With my Kindle Fire I had been able to borrow books directly through Overdrive on my Kindle without having to get them through the computer. I know Amazon changed this because back in March, I could no longer get my library books directly to my Kindle Fire. Why do I suspect that overdrive is no longer on the Kindle because Amazon would like me to buy their books. Sorry, but I don't have the money to buy all the books that I would like to read, so I resort to borrow them from the library, and yes, they don't always have every book that i want, but i have to live with that.

This wasn’t my first e-reader the smaller kindle paper white was and I absolutely loved it this one is so much better the backlight is the beat you can read anywhere at anytime it’s excellent in the dark ..

I resisted buying one for a long time but my husband treated me for our beach vacation. Super easy on the eyes to read in sunny conditions, seemed sand resistant and so light weight!! Must have for travelers!!

Kindle works great: battery lasts forever, holds more than enough books, built-in backlighting to read in dark and water resistant as well. What's not to like..

I've bought my wife a lot of gifts over our many years of marriage. This might be the best of the lot. She uses it every night and always has it near her. She has vision problems but this is easy for her to read. Holds the charge well and is easy to use.

was so much better than I expected. I had an older one and stopped working so this was my upgrade. Is very easy to use. I need bigger font so was really happy I could change it.

I had been thinking about buying a new kindle for years but could never justify it as my older basic Kindle still worked... even replaced the battery. I received this as a gift for my birthday and thought about taking it back but decided to give it a try out of appreciation for the gift. I love this thing. having the back light makes all the difference in the world. Being able to easily log into wifi (even on a cruise ship - which I could not do with the older kindle) is great. Make the leap, upgrade and enjoy. Easily worth the money even if your old one still works... Do It!

Therefore, this kindle is a must have, if you love to read as much as I do. It is easy to take with you where ever you go. Its easy on the eyes and it saves me bookshelf space.

Bought it for my wife so she could read books on the beach and she's thrilled with it! We were frustrated with it at first because you cannot download the Libby app. It took awhile for us to figure out how the checkout books from the library to read on it (had to select read on Kindle in the Libby app and then had to sign into Amazon to check out and send the book to the tablet).

Good price for a light weight device I can keep in my purse and read on the go. Also has a back light to make it good for reading at night as well as in daylight. Overall very useful.
