Great backlight, very lightweight, holds a charge forever. A perfect travel companion on a plane or late night hotel room.

Very easy to use and read. The white screen is easy on the eyes for long periods of time and seems to show up well in all lighting situations. For me the only negative might be a bit slower response on page turning than my old kindle. Wonder if there is a sensitivity setting I haven't found yet. Battery life is great too.

I used to have the old Kindle and I only used it a few times due to my eyes hurting every time I read. Since purchasing this Kindle, I've been using it almost every day and I love it! I like that it's small and lightweight. And the black and white print on it doesn't hurt my eyes. I also like that you can adjust the brightness of the back-light and change the size of the font for better reading. Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase.

It's a 10th generation Kindle e-reader but only the 4th generation Paperwhite ) unless a limited degree of water resistance (not waterproof as they claim) is important to you or you want Bluetooth capability for Audiobooks. Neither of these are remotely important nor needed by me in an e-reader and Audiobooks are handled better by smaller, lighter and less power hungry devices. The additional storage is coals to Newcastle as Amazon's cloud can hold any overstorage needs an owner has. Personally, I don't know anyone who has ever run out of onboard storage on any Kindle, including the very first keyboard models, despite loading them with hundreds of books. The much touted, by Amazon, thinness and lightness of this edition is, in my opinion, overblown. Yes it is slightly thinner and slightly lighter but not paradigm changing. Also beware: the supplied micro USB cable packaged with mine will not fit into the device, maybe yours will. All in all I find it breathtakingly stupid and/or venal of Amazon to ship a device so poorly engineered and quality controlled as to not have a functional charging cable.

This was a gift to my wonderful sister who lives in Michigan. I sent it to her and it arrived on this past Wednesday. She is in love with it and is reading up a storm! The back-up lighting is great and allows her to read in bed without having to get up and turn-off a lamp or put away a battery operated light. She also loves how easy to operate it is, from enlarging the font size to ordering books!

I was determined to be a purist when it came to reading, I love the feel of a book in my hands. As it turns out, though, I love the Kindle Paperwhite. It looks just like a book and the soft backlight doesn't disturb my wife sleeping next to me. The battery lasts a very long time, I have yet to run out of charge. It's a great product, I can't recommend it enough.

I have not used this outside in the sun which was one of the reasons I bought it. My Kindle Fire is extremly hard to read in the bright sunshine so I was looking for something I could take to the beach. The Paperwhite is small and very lightweight so I can throw it in my purse or beach bag easily. It was very easy to set up and the battery life has been super good compared to my kindle fire.

I already had a previous generation Paperwhite that I was fond of, but after reading about the new features, and buying one of the new ones as a gift for a relative, I decided to upgrade to a new Paperwhite Kindle for myself. I am glad that I did, as it's water resistance got a real life test less than two weeks later when I accidently left my bag outside, overnight, during a downpour. The papers in my bag were turned into soggy mush, but after I wiped all the water off my new Paperwhite Kindle, I was very relieved to find that neither the rainstorm, nor sitting outdoors inside a soaking wet bag for 16 hours had damaged the device. I bought the new one because of the full glass, flat front. I did not like the indented front on the old one as much as it tended to collect dust and debris along the edges, but the water resistance is my new favorite feature.

I'll admit, it took a while to figure out the little details, but finally got this device registered and set up, and it works like a charm. It's SO nice to be able to "easily" adjust the size of the type, basically able to make any book a LARGE print version for those of us who are a bit visually challenged. And the charge on the battery last a LONG time. I've finished 2 books, still don't need to recharge. GREAT product!!

I just love the kindle paperwhite. It’s lightweight, so much so, that I don’t find myself switching hands constantly like some of the other e-readers. Another feature that I love is the fact that it’s waterproof. I am super clumsy and was never able to read in the bath for fear of dropping my reader in the water and ruining it. Not with the paperwhite though! Drop that sucker in water? No big deal, just wipe it off and continue reading!!

Love the way the new Kindle Paperwhite has a smooth, silky face with no raised border for crumbs to gather in corners! In my opinion the battery on the newest Paperwhite lasts longer than the previous generation. Also the added Bluetooth audible option with more memory is a great addition to the Kindle. I definitely recommend this Kindle for people who love to carry around multiple books with them (and I mean 100's)!! Wishing you Happy Reading!!

This is my 3rd Lifetime Kindle Purchase. I have had the original, the previous edition paperwhite and now this one. The reason for my upgrade was for more storage and waterproof. My previous one was still in great shape and working flawlessly after 2 years, I just needed some additional storage space. I also liked the idea of this kindle being waterproof as I will sometimes read near the pool.

I love this reader. It is simple to use and extremely lightweight. Something else that is really good about this thing is you do not necessarily have to be a "professional reader". Even if you read moderately or only on occasion, this is a good buy. The price is really reasonable. It is not super expensive to where you will feel as though you have wasted money if you do not use it daily. Definitely a good gadget to have.

My wife's old Kindle was starting to have problems. In particular, the pop-up light in the leather cover quit working, which meant she couldn't read it at night. I got her this newer paper-white version: same size screen, but case is smaller and lighter. And with its backlit screen, no more need for a pop-up light. Nighttime reading problem solved!

I use my Kindle Paperwhite almost every day. As somebody that travels, this is a huge space saver and allows me to stay entertained wherever I go. Much better for your eyes than reading on your tablet or phone. This version is waterproof, but I have not used it around water, but glad to know it is safe in the event of rain or something.

Love this new kindle paper white. 8gb is more than enough for thousands of books. I could not read longer than 5 mins on my iPad and now I can read for an hour on the kindle. I would get distracted with the iPad and end up watching YouTube. The screen is also very different than the other e-readers; it's just a pleasure to read on this kindle.

I bought this when the libraries closed down and I was desperate to get lost in a good book while we were sheltering at home during the pandemic. It is so light weight I started carrying it from room to room to read and my arm didn’t fatigue like it did from holding real books. The adjustable light it easy to read in bed without disturbing my sleepy guy. And it’s super easy to navigate!

I purchased this primarily for use outside where the conditions were bright, particular in direct sun light. The quality of the print is great, it’s very easy to read in bright light, and the battery lasts a long time. It is definitely more practical than using an iPad for reading outside. I had it up and running in about 15 minutes and I’ve used it several hours over the last few days.

I read books. I read a lot of books. I consume them when waiting for appointments, on the treadmill and for leisure. I struggled with my eyes burning and watering using a samsung tablet or a laptop computer. I tried the paperwhite and I definitely notice a difference in eyestrain. The kindle is easier on my eyes. The functionality is basic. It is for reading books. I usually shop for books on another device and just use the kindle for reading. The device battery lasts for days between charges and fires up pretty quickly. Great device for someone who just wants to read kindle books.
