The adaptive light makes it easy to read wherever you are. The only advice for pdf transfer: transfer them via your Amazon account which ensures they are converted to Kindle format.

She had a kindle fire for 8 yrs. or more. This Kindle Paperwhite is lighter plus you have the ability to adjust the light brightness. Glad I bought this.
