I had the regular kindle, got it for around $60, and thought it was okay for as much as I read it which wasn't very often. Then finally decided to upgrade to the paperwhite and gave my basic Kindle away to a family member. Night.. and... day! I can't explain how easy the paperwhite is on your eyes, the lighting adjustments are fantastic (I set mine at 9 brightness and 9 warmth). Surprised how much more I read, and how much longer I can read since getting it. I pick it up constantly, before it was more of a task and a strain. Your choices are between between 4 GB? and 32 GB of storage but anything will hold hundreds and hundreds of books, and either add free or with ads on the Save screen. And colors, mine is denim blue, got a blue leather cover that fits and feels perfect. Magnetic cover turns the unit on and off when opened/closed.

As you probably know, the kindle paperwhite is black and white and is used as a dedicated e-reader for books and other reading material. I've happily worn out several generations of kindle paperwhites because I read so many books, and I've given away about a dozen (new) kindles as presents over the years. The idea of within a minute retrieving any book in my library or getting a brand new book is simply irresistible. The kindle paperwhite is a great e-reader. Note that it frequently goes on sale so try to time your purchase so you can save $$. These are the things I like about it:

I love that I finally gave in and bought a Kindle. It’s small enough to take with you everywhere. The battery life is excellent you do not have to charge it very often. Lighting change is perfect for night time. I use to read on my iPad or phone with the Kindle app and this is so much better. Lighting makes it to where I do not get headaches. 10/10 recommend.

I love this Signature Edition of the Paperwhite. The battery life is awesome. The screen is easier on the eyes. Storage capacity is giant.

It took me a while to decide on purchasing after weeks of research. Glad I settled on this! Lightweight, bright, easy to maneuver and elegant.

I have enjoyed my Paper White for over six months now. My phone was my go to reader for years and as I grew older it was hard on my eyes. This Paper White is a joy.

I’m very happy with the Paper White Kindle. I’m able to read my Kindle books in the sunlight. I’m also amazed at how long the battery life is, and it is so light that my arm doesn’t get tired like when I hold a book.

I have owned the Voyager (my favorite), the Oasis (least favorite), and now the Paperwhite Signature Edition. It is a great little e-reader for the price and the battery life surpasses the Oasis by miles and is why I gave it 5 stars. My only complaint is that there isn't much of a bezel on either side to comfortably hold the device even with a cover on it and since I have small hands I do get hand fatigue if I try to hold the book for too long. I know that there are after-market extensions that you can purchase to put on the device, but then you can't put a case on it. Despite the lack of a bezel to grip, I would still highly recommend this e-reader for the avid reader (I read about 400 pages a week) as the battery life will not disappoint (unlike the Oasis!!!).

Girlfriend has been using it for almost a month and she loves it. The screen is pleasing to the eyes at night. Setup was very easy and it's compact size makes it convenient to carry everywhere.

Awesome-easy to read, light weight to hold, long lasting battery. Get a nice case and thus Kindle is the best reader by far!

This kindle is great my wife uses it every day. Has long battery life and the back light helps alot for late night reading
