I bough this since I wanted to take my notes (originally wanted the remarkable) but I got this since I also wanted to read. Honestly I like the fact I can read and take notes more than anything else.

The larger size pages make it easier to read. Underlining and highlighting important passages helps me to remember and find material for future reference. Carrying my whole library with me is amazing and keeps me entertained whenever I find a moment. I use it nearly every day.

It feels like im reading a paperback or hardback book. Worth the money. Also the battery life is amazing. I can read all day and still wont have to charge the battery until the next day.

Love the writing on this. Feels very close to writing on actual paper. But it is not going to be able to be my everyday reader. Too heavy.

This device is probably one of the most game-changing things available for people who read books and love writing notes in the margins. With the Scribe, you can take notes anywhere on a page using your own handwriting, and it will paste it into that position of the text like it's a Sticky-Note. The technology works well, but it takes a while to figure out how to position your writing so you can place the note in the exact location you want. Otherwise you're stuck writing a note and having it appear slightly away from where you wanted to place it. As for the stylus/pen, it's great. The premium pen and Scribe provide a wonderful almost paper-like feel to one's writing. And the eraser is even better than a real eraser. Before this model and software update appeared, I was stuck making notes in my Kindle books by typing them out on the keyboard, and then the moment I finished, the note would disappear and be replaced by a tiny superscript icon. It kind of defeats the purpose of leaving a note. But that problem has been remedied with this new handwritten notes technology. Also, the ability to underline is fantastic because I have a difficult time making straight lines, but the Scribe automatically takes my squiggly underlines and straightens them out. There are a couple of improvements that would make this a 5-star device: 1) color screen (the monochrome screen doesn't allow you to take advantage of the 4 different highlighter colors that the Kindle app offers). 2) converting handwritten notes within a Kindle book into a cleaner font. The fact that this exists in the Notebooks section of the Kindle but not within the actual Kindle books is probably an oversight.

I liked reading since I was a child and this is the best purchase, it has no ads, so do not get distracted. the light adapts and is perfect for reading I can make a list of my books to read and the ones I have already read is wonderful, the pen is easy to use and can be adapted to use with a shortcut and underline and I love to be marking my favorite lines. It is certainly a purchase that you will not regret having made.

I’m a huge note taker while reading - but taking notes on a paperwhite is similar to having teeth pulled. This ups note taking to an entire new level. Sometimes it is nice - but other times, I dont want to hold it. It’s a hair too large. If I were back in college, this would be an amazing product to have! I think they could improve their design in their next generation, like thinner bezels. But overall, a great kindle, if the price tage makes sense for uour useage.

Can’t believe it took me this long to buy my first Scribe. It’s an amazing tablet. I love reading on this device, and the writing is just nice. I just really wanted it for the reading , but sadly I will be returning the Scribe because I just found out the new model is about to be released. I also bought it when it was on sale for $140 off. That’s a good deal. I still recommend the scribe when its on sale if ur not planing on buying the new scribe ,it is pretty pricey

As an e-reader its excellent. That said, I purchased the device to be a e-ink tablet for grad school. Its okay as a e-ink but definitely not the same writing experience as a remarkable. The palm rejection when writing is subpar and I often change the page while writing inadvertently. For the price, I just cant justify keeping this device. I spent over $500 with tax for this device and its just not worth the money. At $250-$300 this device would be a winner but for $449 it just doesn't make sense. Side note the Jade color is stunning in person. That made me give it 4 starts. Otherwise it would be 3 stars for me on this device.

I didn't think I needed a Kindle, because I've been using the Kindle app on iPads since 2010. But it turns out the Kindle Scribe is awesome. Reading on it is a pleasant experience, and does not involve the distractions of the iPad. The battery life is awesome. I'll be able to read all the way from Seattle to Frankfurt next week, and maybe all the way back after New Year, without having to charge the device.

Was looking for a tablet to help keep notes from meetings in order and capable of sending them out to others. This tablet mets those requirements with the added benefit of being able to write on documents and read books from my Amazon account. The writing on the tablet feels great and the conversion of the written text to digital is great with very few errors. Organization is great with the notebook feature, and the page formats allow me to insert the type of page I need. Its not as big as some of yhe other writing tablets but it works great for fitting in my bag without added bulk or quickly picking it up when running to a meeting.

I love this! I have an iPad, phones, an older Kindle Fire. This is so great to use as a notebook, as well as a less distractable reader. I have been so happy with this purchase. I can use a habit tracker, read books, mark up books, note book for doodling, list, etc.

Im always taking hand written notes for work and when people want to see what i wrote, if have to transfer them to a word doc and send them over. Thats no longer the case! I write them on my scribe, save as a word doc and just send them instantly. This thing is a breeze to write on and easy on my eyes to read at night

I write this having never experienced any other e-ink note-taking device. I have extensive experience with every other paperwhite reader though. Kindle hands down make the best paperwhite readers and this one is probably the best, most fluid reader I've had...and if you get the right case (NOT the folio kindle sells for 60 dollars, see my review of that under the item for more), it's quite comfortable even as just a large paperwhite reader. Obviously, if you're buying this you're not just in it for a paperwhite reader, if that's the case I recommend the 11th gen kindle paperwhite (I don't recommend the Oasis because its battery life is not nearly as good as the 10th or 11th gen, I've used them all, so I speak from experience), it's much more affordable than a scribe. Back to this scribe, it's awesome when taking notes and editing novels. You can send your own novels to the device, though I did have some trial and error doing so. I found that sending as word doc was the best because it presents your work as a book...with pdf I didn’t like how when I zoomed in it didn’t readjust to the pages etc. The scribe is super responsive and I like how the fountain pen makes my handwriting a little neater some how. I am looking forward to the update that's on the way that will let your in book notes STAY where you put them. It's annoying how it will throw the note box just wherever as it is now. I also look forward to having a place on the side to make notes, which they said will be coming soon. If you have the original scibe, I don't see the point in upgrading because all of the updates will be coming to you too, but I bought this because I didn't have any scribe. Overall, this is a solid purchase and is a bit less than the remarkable paper pro...for what I need it for, I couldn't justify spending the extra money on a remarkable etc.

I love the versatility of the Kindle Scribe. The ability to wrote notes or sketch was a selling point for me. Unfortunately it didn’t fit my needs at this time.
