At my opinion those e-reader Amazon should give for free. The reason why, because it sticks only with amazon kindle books. You CAN NOT to use any other than amazon subscription services. for Example O'Reilly Media, `epic!` or other online reading book services. ONLY AMAZON BOOKS. You have to buy books from them to read or useless kindle unlimited subscription you need to pay for it.
To take just notes, I think has other options not such expensive like this item.
Disappointed on my purchase.

Hi PaulM,
We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed in your purchase. However, you can use Library Apps like Libby, to borrow books with Kindle and Audible is available as well.
To use Libby you will need a valid library card, and the app downloaded to your mobile phone or tablet. You will log in with your local credentials, and then select 'read from kindle.' From there, you can borrow titles and see what is available to you without paying for each book or subscription.
To use a Kindle and Audible together, you can use Whispersync for Voice to switch between reading and listening or read and listen at the same time:
Open the Kindle book Download the Audible narration Tap play to begin listening
You can also use the Kindle app to switch between reading and listening:
Download the Kindle app Select the Kindle book you want to read and listen to Download the Audible audiobook Tap the book icon to switch between reading and listening
Lastly, you can also use an Amazon Echo device to play books from your Kindle. If you need further assistance, don't hesitate to reach out! You can call Amazon customer service, available 24/7 for assistance on the device. You can reach us at 1-888-280-4331!
Hope that helps!

Bought this for my wife who's been wanting a Kindle for awhile. She reads a lot. Also, she, like me, still likes to take written notes in meetings. I use another (great) product to take digital notes and have been trying to get her to change over for awhile now for organization and reducing paper usage. I'm jealous and may have to steal it from her. Best of both worlds.

Decent! I bought this to compare with my SuperNote, but the SuperNote has some features that I can't live without so I gifted this to my daughter. Nothing wrong with it, just for writing I prefer the SuperNote.
