Awesome performance: pretty much stopped using agendas for taking notes. Still need a way to handle agenda and appointments, but for reading material, marking up books and documents and taking notes, it's great.

Great for writing notes. It also is cool to be able to hook up headphones and listen to an audio book if I want to. The reading is like any other kindle just a larger screen.

The pen writes so well. It’s perfect for writing thoughts on the page and sharing for book clubs. The screen is a perfect size and non glaring.

I really loved the idea of this, but it just wasn’t quite what I wanted. It is very expensive, very big, and the writing capabilities are somewhat limited when compared to other similar devices. It is not very portable, and feels unwieldy as I am used to a much smaller model. Maybe for someone else, this is perfect. The screen is absolutely beautiful. Crisp, with lots of viewing options. Maybe they will update the software to add functionality. Right now, I would pass. I returned it.

My primary need was to keep track of work and personal notes better. I was very interested in the Remarkable2, but i just thought the Remarkable2 was too expensive, especially given how quickly technology can change. The Kindle Scribe is a solid value - can do everything I need for creating and organizing my notes. The KS also has a good battery life. I recommend checking the expert technical reviews to make sure it has what you need, especially is you need more than basic note taking and of course e-reading.

    I. Not sure if it is the best, but i purchased it for my wife and she absolutely loves it. The Kindle has excellent screen clarity, is easy kn the eyes, and outside liggt was not an issue... This perfect for the night reader. The included pen is also note worthy (pun included at no charge). It writes as smooth as a pencil and has enough features for the avid note taker.

This thing is pretty slick. If you're already in the Kindle ecosystem and want to be able to take some notes and annotate some PDFs, this will do the trick. My only gripe was the lack of remote syncing for the notes so I could review them from my phone/laptop. So I went and found a different device that does cloud syncing, and truth is... I don't review my notes on my phone or laptop that much, so maybe it's not an issue.

There's a difficult place where this lives in your tech stack and it certainly depends on if you "need" it. First, from a pure "reader" perspective, it's a kindle, it does kindle great just like other kindles. The screen size here is a plus and a minus. It's a plus because if you're wanting to size up the font more than just a couple of clicks, this is a god send. You can go large print and keep formatting way better than you can on any other kindle. If you're like me, and you just like it one or two points higher, then the other Kindles work fine so don't be worried about it, but it is something to think about. The negative here is you do loose the "one hand" holding and reading type of thing just because it's so big. It's like holding a hard back book which isn't comfortable in one hand. Reading in bed if you're in a less sitting up position is also clumsy. The screen though, is amazing and clear and fantastic in every way. From a writing perspective - I love taking notes on this thing. It's a joy to write on. The premium pen is awesome, and you can erase by flipping it over like you would a pencil. Highly recommended. Overall, this is a great Kindle with some great features. If you're just looking for a new version of the Oasis then this can fit that role just be aware of the size and how that might affect you. (Also no water proofing.) Hopefully Amazon will release a real Oasis update next year, but I would bet we see Paperwhite/Scribe updates going forward and the Oasis falls to the side.

perfect device for a digital notebook, especially when paired with a magnetized case. Instant turn on time, decent enough UI, and honestly has the best pencil to paper feeling that I've tried. Reading books is a mixed experience, given the weight of the device (+ case) and the very large screen. Would recommend it definitely, but only if your primary focus is utilization of the notebook features. As a notebook with an optional e-reader mode? perfect. As an e-reader with a stylus accessory? average

Look past the cost…yes, it is costly, but it’s a 10-inch e-reader with backlight AND you can write on it! I used to own the reMarkable tablet and as much as I loved the feature that it could translate my scrawls into text there were limitations to the pad. For one, it was very hard to add or export files off of it and only PDF’s are available The Kindle Scribe allows for Kindle books, PDF’s and one can easily import word documents via “send to Kindle”. The premium pen allows you to write and erase written text. The only downsides are no text conversion (yet), the price, and that you cannot write on a Kindle book. You can open a note pad and make notes ((hand written or typed on the on-screen keyboard), but you can’t make a doodle in the margins.
