I upgraded from an i7-4790k that I paid $330 for new. This cpu is much faster for half the price. I know it’s not fair comparing 4 year old tech to brand new, but I’m comparing what I get for my money. 6 core 12 threads of performance for under $180!! Also, your mileage may vary of course but this is a decent overclocker. I have a 280mm aio cooler and I was able to get 4.1GHz on all 6 cores with only 1.32v. With my cooler the temps are in the mid 50s and max out as 62 in normal use like gameplay or video conversion. If you run a stress test it will get hotter but that’s an edge case for stability not typical of erveryday use I think. Great features and great price. You won’t be disappointed. The stock cooler does a great job too. I have a friend that doesn’t overclock and his temps are in the 60s with the stock cooler.

I originally purchased this CPU as a starter for a gaming computer for my kids. Was great when it first booted up but as soon as windows 10 was installed and update began this thing drags! Decided to do a fresh install on my i7700k and it was finished performing tasks and installs in nearly half the time of this build with AMD. And both are running same ram and SSDs. Was so disappointed at the performance. Works great for gaming but I cant see how anyone would use this for multitasking large software and multiple scenarios.

Had an old eMachines with an original Intel i5 that finally died (its been on its way out from a lightening strike) a half working motherboard and CPU were the last surviving pieces. Once they died I needed an immediate replacement. BestBuy had this in stock so this is what I got. Overall it is a nice processor for the price. I'm not a gamer however I run several VMs, Containers and bloated IDE's. This has no problem keeping up. Installation was super easy. The included heat-sink w/ all mounting hardware is a nice touch. Currently working on Ubuntu w/ 16 gigs of RAM and 2 x 4K monitors.

This donkey is amazing. Note, I’m on two 1070’s zotac in sli mode and omg this things a beast. It honky donks anything I throw at it. Get one ASAP ladies and gents. I guarantee you will love it. Then come back and leave your review so others enjoy Valhalla just as I do.

I wanted a faster computer for the 2D and 3D design work I do and of course the Ryzen 7 2700X was what I thought I needed for my rebuild but after adding up all of the needed components to build that system my cheap bone kicked in and I went with the Ryzen 5 1600. I am glad I did. I saved over $300 on the CPU and various other components and the result is a lightning fast machine when this CPU is coupled with a 1TB SSD drive. Love this processor.

Since buying the Ryzen 5 2600 6core 12 thread processor, I have easily overclocked all cores to 4.0 ghz using a liquid cooling IO. Runs stable and cool with 3000mghz memory clocked at 3200mghz. Rips through games and has no problem maxing out graphical settings with the right graphics card. Not a bottleneck. At it's current pricing it cannot be beat on price to performance.

I bought this for my little brother's PC build. This is a great CPU since it can game and do content creating, compared to Intel's where they are only good for gaming and not so great for content creating. It also has 6 cores, which means it can run more in the background than a 4 core intel card. Recommend this to anyone who is starting a PC build or is looking to upgrade without breaking the bank.

I used to foolishly use Intel only but decided to make my own computer and I can honestly say I'll never go back to Intel unless I absolutely needed to. Runs really well and at less power consumption than its competitor. On top of that the stock fan is actually really really good. So that saved some more money too. I would recommend ryzens to anyone building their own computer.

    Best Processor For The Price

I had read that while not as fast as the 2500x, the Ryzen 5 2600 was more amenable to overclocking. While only having six cores rather than the eight of the 2700 series, that was all it really needed. The big seller was that it was only half the price of the 2700x. I went for the 2600, and I haven't regretted the decision. It's a good CPU for gaming and for work, and so far I've had no cause to complain.

Build your own custom motherboard beginning with this AMD Ryzen 5 processor. Its six cores and 12 threads provide powerful processing capability for system-intensive tasks, and its base/boost speed sits at 3.4GHz and 3.9GHz, respectively, for efficient overclocking. This AMD Ryzen 5 processor has a Wraith Stealth cooler to keep components from overheating.

I'm a small Twitch streamer and was having a lot of difficulty getting my frames to stop dropping until I swapped out my old AMD for this bad boy. Now I get 0% dropped frames and my streams run perfectly. On top of that, I never get less than 60FPS while gaming. It's a really great upgrade. Definitely recommend.

Installed Ryzen 5 2600 processor on MSI B450 Tamahawk Motherboard Build. No issues with install. Early indications are that it works well. So far booted Ubuntu 18.04 on Build. Still working on transferring other drives to new system. Will attempt to get Windows 10 on the system (Don't know about License issues - trying not to buy another license).

I gotta say that when I got the system up and running I considered giving my co-worker my old system while I took this one with the ryzen 5. The programs that took advantage of those extra cores just blazed though files. I can't wait for my system to die because I'm pretty sure I'll be going from intel back to AMD next round.

This CPU is awesome. It was very easy to install. New wraith stealth cooling is stellar, CPU has not gotten over 50 degrees C while gaming. Easily clocked to 3.8 base. I've loved AMD for years and, unfortunately, they've always fallen short against Intel...not anymore. This CPU is great and nearly half the cost of Intel.

I can’t say enough good things about this processor. I do some light gaming, video editing, and run a plex server and it seems to handle all of it very well. It also helps I am running an R9 290. If I have any bottleneck it’s the 5400 RPM drive I am running. Plan to upgrade to an SSD one of these days.

This GPU is amazing, and for the price you can’t beat it. Any budget/intermediate build for gaming or really anything else this exceeds expectations. I would recommend this GPU to anyone and I would also look out for games that this may be bundled with as an additional bonus!

I paired this with an Asus Hero motherboard to build myself a new coding box. It loads Ubuntu very quickly and keeps up with the large collection of apps that I always seem to have running. I've had no problems with compatibility and I'm very happy.

This CPU is the best budget CPU, the performance is just incredible. The fan that comes with the CPU, cools the CPU just fine, but if you're going to overclock i recommend getting another air-cooler or even an all-in-one liquid cooler.

The 2600 is the best value in the PC world today. It’s good as a light workstation CPU, it’s good enough at gaming, and it’s priced much better than the 8600k. For the money, there just isn’t anything equal for less. It’s the sweetspot of CPU’s.
