First bad AMD cpu.

Even tried a differnt power supply with same result. No bent pins present. May have been a cpu that was swapped by pirates. Read about it online.

Dead on Arrival

We tried with a few different brands of motherboard and ensured that the motherboards were flashed properly. Still wouldn't work.

AMD has been killing it with the Ryzen CPUs

I had an AMD K6-2, Intel Pentium 3, 4, AMD Athlon 64, AMD Phenom II X4 & X6, and switched to Intel for the 3000 & 4000 series, and ran a media server on an FX-8350 for years. Intel dominated CPU performance since really 2009. But Intel got stale. From the 3rd generation Intel i-series CPUs until until AMD dropped their Ryzen processors, you never felt like you got a good value for your money. Now, there is real competition and AMD has been pushing Intel for a solid 5 years now. Lookup benchmarks, compare the games or software you're running, but consumers are winning with the back and forth between the two companies.
