Comimg from a 13900k this thing is fast! And runs really cool. I am running all my games at 4k with no issue. Works wonderfully with my 4090. I was worried at first i have always used intel. But very happy with my first AMD purchase.

Not a huge difference over the 7800X3D, but runs a bit cooler for equal or better performance. Am glad I got one while I could though.

I upgraded to this CPU, and the difference is night and day! My old processor i7 10700k was bottlenecking my GPU harshly, but now I’m finally capping out my 3080ti, actually utilizing the gpus full power. Getting higher FPS across all games. I gained frames just by swapping to this CPU—no extra tweaking needed, no undervolting, overclocking. Game at 4k 144hz, and this CPU will definitely let you utilize the GPU you paid for without restriction.

I purchased a 9800X3D from Best Buy; however, the actual CPU was stolen wile enroute to me and I was delivered a box containing empty packaging. Best Buy claimed they would reufund the item as it is no longer in stock; however, they later went againt their initial word and denied my refund request instead suggesting I reach out to local law enforcement to report the issue (thats not how this works since it was stolen prior to being in my possession). Best Buy obviously does not insure items they ship because if they did, this would be a non-issue for both parties. And because I am not the shipper I cannot file a claim with FedEx. So I am now out $516 and have no CPU. I highly recommend you take your business elsewhere. I have initiated complaints with both my credit card company and the BBB.

Current king of the CPUs, after 2 months these should not be out of stock still. Come on AMD and Best Buy

This cpu is a beast for gaming. I use it with Arch Linux and had no issues booting up. Solid upgrade from my old 9700k intel cpu. If available, I highly recommend.

Thr Ryzen 7 9800X3D is a great processor, it seems to run cooler that my old Ryzen 9 3900x. The processor is easy to install, i used a AM5 plate to secure it, and more efficient thermal paste spread. I highly recommend this processor if you can find it Best Buy was the place I could find the processor in stock for retail. That is why I go to Best Buy for all my tech.

Box is smaller than the 7800x3d but It performs better and It pretty future proof for a 4-5+ years

An absolutely Fantastic Chip. Runs cool and ideal for the gamer who doesn’t want to spend the extra money on the additional cores (in a perfect world we can all afford chips with more cores). If you’re a student or a professional who likes to game and do extensive projects (requiring the processing workload) then perhaps wait and get the ryzen 9 x3d chip when they come out

Was trying to buy one of these for weeks. I can only recommend the app " Hot Stock. Install on your phone and be fast in responding. They are for sale at Amazon and Bestbuy. This will be my next build for MSFS 2020. I bought my Nividia 4080 super from Bestbuy the same way last year. Good hunting, and I hope you are able to get one of these.

My previous CPU before this was an i7-8700k, and to say this is a massive upgrade is a massive understatement. This CPU has been performing so amazingly and I couldn’t possibly ask for anything better!

Overclocks nicely. Temps are definitely better managed than the 7800x3d.

This fast efficient CPU is the centerpiece of my updated build. Was lucky that Best Buy got this in stock just as I was about to pull the trigger on a 7800x3d for a similar price. Now I’ll be able to game knowing I’ll never be CPU bottlenecked!

Best gaming CPU on the market. Great pricing but very hard to get a hold.
