Great CPU
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this as an upgrade from Ryzen 5 5600x to Ryzen 9 5900x and what a difference! The price was even better, got it at $234! The only caution is you do need a very good cooling system to pair with it. I bought a Corsair Hydro Series H60 120mm Liquid Cpu Cooler W/ Fan and that was the cherry on top!

A Great CPUI from AMD
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to go with my new build with a RTX 3080TI and it did not disappoint. This CPU has a crazy amount of cores and is great for both gaming and heavier processing.

Bigger improvement than I thought
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from a Ryzen 3700x. I wasn't sure what to expect, but in games like Warzone my FPS jumped up to around 190-200 FPS from like 140-150. This is paired with a 3080, so I expect I was bottlenecking before. Set-up was a little trickier than I was expecting. Make sure to update your BIOS before installing, unlike I did. When I first installed this as well pretty much every game would stutter, and the solution for me was a fresh windows install. Overall though it seems like performance improvement justified the cost and hassle , especially with the prices finally coming down. I feel I've more than future proofed my PC with this upgrade.

||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been using for well over 2yrs now, and still keeps up with my gaming needs. I did originally have a bent pin, but brought it back to the best buy location and was able to swap it out for another with no issues.

Amazing but overkill for most gaming applications
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This run is a little hot but is an amazing processer. I get 90 to 100+ fps in BF4 maxed out (3070ti) vs medium settings and 70fps from my 3700x. Highly recommend if you don't want to buy into the new and very expensive AM5 socket. If you already have a AM4 mobo this is an amazing end of the upgrade path. It is overkill for most gaming but you heavily mod games or stream. Then this is the processor for you. 100% Recommend at 300

An Absolute Beast of a CPU!
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an absolutely incredible CPU! I upgraded from the 5600X. I bought the 5600X the day it was released and at the time, I was too focused on keeping the cost of my build around $1,200. If I knew then what I know now, I would have started with the 5900X. This thing is amazing! It chews through HD video compression like nothing else! It compresses 4K video in a much more reasonable amount of time than the 5600X. Also, the power usage is much lower than its Intel counterpart and as far as I know, the security is also much better.

Amazing CPU
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm going to be honest, I was not expecting huge gains coming from a Ryzen 5600x. And you are probably wondering, why would you upgrade twice in a single product cycle? Well the short answer is that the availability of the 5900x when it first came out was... lacking to say the least so I had to make due with the 5600x. At the time, the six-core processor was more than capable to fit my needs. However over the past year, my work habits have changed and thus I demanded more from my workstation. Adding a second monitor was a great addition to help increase my multi-tasking capabilities. However this made me aware of the limitations of having fewer cores in my system. So I decided to go for this beast of a cpu, doubling the number of cores in my system. I kept my expectations in check of course, double the cores does not mean "doubling performance". And to be quite frank, in terms of raw performance, it's actually not that much quicker in running normal tasks... that is, at least on paper. Of course, if you run programs that can utilize all the performance, then yes it will be significantly faster. But I do not run such programs for my workload, just a heavy multi-tasker. To get to my point, this upgrade allowed me to experience something very different when it comes to "user experience". It isn't a massive jump in performance in gaming or running normal day to day applications. But it is that buttery smooth experience that you cannot explain on paper, nor run any test programs to measure a noticeable gain. And I think far too many times, we come to compare stats on paper without considering the "user experience". Many reviews on this cpu come to the conclusion that it is not that much quicker in gaming when compared to its little brother, the 5600x. But I guarantee you, that 5600x will have the occasional micro-stutters, or it takes a few extra seconds to install a program. Basically, my point is that most people will not need this level of performance and if you are strictly on a budget, a 5600x is your best bet. For example, imagine owning a normal, economic car vs. a high end luxury car. Both will get you from point A to point B. I'd even go as far to say that they'll probably get you there in similar times. In terms of transportation, they both will do the job. However, the luxury car will just do it in comfort, and it's just nice to be in one isn't it. Similarly, the 5900x is that luxury bracket, the user experience is what you get with 12 cores :)

Great mid-grade performer at a good price!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Rebuilt an existing desktop, replacing nearly all the components. This was my CPU choice, an upgrade from an Intel 5 series that was many moons old.

Monster CPU on a now old platform
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used this CPU in a computer that was primarily used for software development and some gaming. Either way, this CPU crushed every workload I threw at it without much of a problem. It might not be the best CPU for gaming, but it's pretty good. The only problem I have with it (and is something I was at least partially aware of when I purchased it) is that it gets hot and takes a good cooler to keep it cool. Even then, expect to hear the fans fire up regularly when doing any kind of work or gaming. It's not the end of the world, but it can be a bit annoying when on calls or even during the course of the day to hear the fans constantly ramping up and down. It's not a problem with this CPU, it's just the reality with most modern high-end CPUs. It's a great value with it's current pricing at ~$350, but if I were to buy a new CPU today, I would likely go for one of the Ryzen 7000 non-X cpus which provide great performance at much lower temperatures and power usage. If you already have an AM4 motherboard and need an upgrade, this is a great CPU. Otherwise, invest in a newer platform such as AM5 and the newer, more efficient chips.

Productivity, yes. Just gaming, go with the 5600x
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was using this in an ATX build Corsair 4000d airflow B550 Aorus 3080TI 5900x LPX Corsair 3200 CL 16 32 GB I have my Noctua NH D15 cooling this big boy. I honestly don't remember it ever going above or at 80 degrees celcius. If you're mainly gaming, this is overkill. You'll do well enough with the 5600x. If you're looking to future proof, maaaybe, but the 5600x should be good enough, especially if you're gaming on 1440p or 4k, which is gpu bound anyways. If you're rendering or doing productivity work along with gaming, this is probably ideal for you.
