I got the Ryzen 9 5900x CPU, and it's amazing. It makes everything faster, from gaming to video editing. It handles multiple tasks without any issues and uses less power. It was easy to install and works great with my setup. If you need a powerful processor, go for the Ryzen 9. It's awesome!

Was hoping for a 5900xt 3D but it is an upgrade

I had a 3900x previously that was somewhat of a golden sample. It scired in oar with the refreshed 3900xt in most games and benchmarks. I basically wanted to wait for a 3d cache version of the 5900x and when AMD said they were only doing the 5800 series i pulled the trigger on a 5900x the next time i saw it on sale. I dont want to replace my mobo and ram etc because of a new socket and my 3900x was already 3 years old so if i didnt grab the last AM4 chip i would need to replace most of my pc in a year or two. Now im good for a few more years, this thing is a nice upgrade over my old 3900x. They changed the core config to 2 6core chips instead of 4 3core chips and the latency is much better now with shared memory pooling. Overall it was only a slight update to the architecture but i can see a big difference in performance in certain games and a general boost in performance in pretty much everything else. It shouldnt cost this much but that is the times we are in right now. Other than cost i think this is better than any intel equivalent part in the same time frame and it is cheaper to build a whole system with the 5900x generally speaking.

Have had mine for a year... easily over clockable to 4.9Ghz runs cool, power efficient, Gaming and Video editing workhorse. Noctua NH-D15 cools it. 3080FE makes it a powerful all around system.

Cheaper than upgrading to AM5(for now) Runs a little hot with a AIO. But has yet to overheat. Paired with a RTX3060TI. Had A Ryzen 5 3600.

Gotta love the price drop...got this at $349.99 at me local bestbuy a few months ago. Worth every penny if you are using your PC like me, as a half/half gaming and video production PC. Currently using an RTX 3070Ti for gaming, and the GPU is going to be a potential bottleneck in the future. Safe to say there is a lot of headroom left for me to push this CPU in terms of gaming!

An absolute beast. Upgraded from an Amd 3700x for the needed extra cores. I had 3900XT for a couple of days, and productivity difference between it and the 5900X is only minor, but you can see a real difference in the boost to FPS with gaming. Mine under volts very well and can hit 4.9 to 4.95 across the cores in light loads. Temps reach upto 84 degrees in a warm room gaming for an extended period of time, but just pummeling it with work at close to 100% utilization it only reaches about 65 degrees and all cores sit around 4.375. I've only lowered the curve and have not really fiddled with over clocking. It was quick and easy in the bios, and not in Ryzen Master. I'm very impressed with performance for gaming, but over 3900X/XT it is not a massive gain for work. I just wish there was not the shortage. I actually did not think I would get lucky on getting one, and purchased the 3900XT.

When i built my pc 3 years ago, i got an x570 chipset knowing i would eventually upgrade from my 3600 to a 5000 series. Finally did so and the performance improvements were drastic. Good processor for multiple tasks. Video and audio encoding is very quick, and can also play games with no worries. Temperatures could be worrying at first glance , but if you look at AMD’s spec information, this generation of ryzen all run hotter than most cpu’s, and are designed to handle it. Just make sure you have a good heatsink and know how to properly install it.

The best processor in the zen3 series IMO This thing is great both at gaming and at workloads like video editing. I thought the gap between this and the 5950x was a bit too steep for the 4 extra cores, and to add to that, this one hits better numbers than the 5800x/5950x in gaming loads (5800 3D is better in games i hear, but this is the "jack of all trades" for this generation for sure) I do a lot of gaming AND a lot of high-core workloads and while i'd love to have a threadripper in the coming months/year ... this is a great great processor for someone who just needs a powerful computer (i hve two of them -- one has an evga 3090 FTW3 the other has a 3090Ti FE) I also have a 5600x/3080FE combo which -- is still a really good setup but i would jump to the 5800x (3d) over the 5600x if you were to build a 3080-based machine right now... the price ponts on cpus have changed A LOT.

Really good CPU, Just recreantly purchased this during cyber Monday. Upgraded from a 3700x. And i can tell the difference immediately. This CPU does gaming, Auto Cad, And 3-D rendering really well. It also handles my 7800xt extremally well as well. All in all get this CPU while it is 50% off!!!!!

Powerful processor set at a solid price. It's recently gotten a bit of competition from Intel's 10000 series getting price cuts, but AMD still leads in single threaded performance in many games that I play. Runs a little hot on my Fuma 2. In hindsight, I may have been better off snagging a NH-D15 or a Liquid Freezer II.

Went from a 3700 to this and can instantly tell the difference when it comes to gaming/multitasking. Would recommend getting a AIO or upgraded Fan cooler. The wraith cooler would have it wround 80c while gaming. After the msi 240r aio it now around 64c. Maybe even getting a 320 would of been the better route. After some googling seems a average temps are 70-80c while running. For 300$ well worth it if you're on ryzen 3 or older

This run is a little hot but is an amazing processer. I get 90 to 100+ fps in BF4 maxed out (3070ti) vs medium settings and 70fps from my 3700x. Highly recommend if you don't want to buy into the new and very expensive AM5 socket. If you already have a AM4 mobo this is an amazing end of the upgrade path. It is overkill for most gaming but you heavily mod games or stream. Then this is the processor for you. 100% Recommend at 300

    The Zen 3 Flagship

AMD Ryzen 5000 series is one for the record books! AMD introduced the Zen 3 Ryzen processors online with the sole intention to show more performance at less wattage. The increase from the previous Ryzen 3000 series is up to 22% faster. Meaning if you are coming from a Ryzen 2000 series (Zen+) then you are in for a major performance champion at over 40% performance increase. That increase is not free. It comes in the form of heat. It does not come with a cooler, so be sure to get you a BEEFY air cooler, or a nice all-in-one (AIO) liquid cooler solution and you will be off to the races!
