Improved over my 9900K in every way

I didn't even expect to be upgrading my 9900K soon at all but the results this CPU put out for the same price blew me away enough to go through with the upgrade. Of all places I actually found it in a local Best Buy just sitting in one of the glass PC part cages, but its stock was not reported online. Installing this CPU, despite the differences from an intel chip, was very easy and user-friendly. I highly recommend using an Asus B550-F Gaming motherboard as this is what I am using and am having an excellent experience with this combo without overspending. The 5900x at stock runs about 19% faster on 1-core tasks than the 9900k and in multicore runs over 60% faster. And, get this, entirely with lower temperatures, like 10 degrees C lower. Specifically in high-end gaming, however, I noticed this CPU runs as hot as the 9900K does. It's also worth noting this CPU has very stable temperatures that do not bounce around like they do on the 9900K; they somewhat gradually increase and decrease like GPU temperatures do, which is awesome for keeping proper track of thermals. Originally I wanted the 5950x but after actually being lucky enough to have gotten the 5900x instead I think that despite the loss in cores, this is the chip buyers should strive to get this generation. Although $550 is no small amount of cash, this chip still feels like it's a great deal compared to other CPUs I could have bought.

The AMD Ryzen 9 5900X is an absolute monster of a CPU, bringing the biggest gen-on-gen jump in single-core performance in years, which helps make the processor stronger across the board. The best part? You don't even need a new motherboard.

I’ve been wanting to upgrade from my 2700x but wasn’t too sure what to get and I was watching videos about the 5900x and saw it can handle gaming and also video editing and so far no regrets! It can definitely handle everything I throw at it and it also gave me a higher fps boost while gaming.

The Ryzen 9 processor fit perfectly into the AM4 slot of the motherboard I lurchased along with it. It was quite an upgrade from the Ryzen 5 1500X

What a beast. I bought this for gaming and audio production, and it works really well. As far as AM4 goes (and you don’t want to go to AM5), totally worth the value and worth the upgrade (I came from 5600x). Can run a little hot, but that’s what you have a water cooler for

This was a good upgrade from my ryzen 5 5600x. The speeds are about the same but my over cpu usage can handle much more due to the extra cores

Awesome performance. Upgraded from 5800x and the extra cores do make a difference. Doesnt run too hot under load with an AIO. Definitely well worth it on sale

The Ryzen 9 5900X is a masterclass in price/performance. It's multithreading capabilities make it a perfect heart for any workstation and despite not being the peak of gaming when stacked up against AMD's own Ryzen X3D models it can carve through games like butter. It's been a night and day difference upgrading from a Ryzen 5 5600 to this CPU. You truly feel all the weight and passion AMD puts into designing these chips. I would buy this CPU again and again for MSRP for the builds of my friends and family because of just how reliable and capable it is. The subtle automatic overclocking the chip does based on temperature and accompanying components only furthers it's longevity. If it's on sale; buy it. If it's not on sale; buy it. If the NEW Ryzen 9s are of equivalent price; get the new ones because they're even more excellent.

It’s a CPU that is fast and responsive. This thing is great for gaming and doing other tasks. I personally only use it for my gaming rig. If I was going to do anything more than game I’d go with a different CPU. Currently have this paired with an RTX 3070 and my GPU is holding this back.

Fastest CPU in this price bracket (when on sale). Love this chip for it’s speed and efficiency. Blender cycle renders and physics renders are quite zippy with this cpu. Highly recommend on when on sale.

If you're still on the AM4 platform, this is tremendous value for performance. 12 cores is plenty for today's workloads and should be for at least a couple more years. It's perfect for those who just want to drop in an upgrade and be able to use their motherboard for a couple more years before moving on to the AM5 socket.

Bought this for my new system with ASUS ROG motherboard. Came in a small box similar to most processors where there are space for the small processor and a cooler. This did not come with the cooler as advertised but in my experience, buy a better cooler especially with higher end processor because it creates a massive amount of heat. I think this is the better value versus the competition. Installation is easy, no bent pins, total of 24 threads, no headaches at this time other than hard to locate and purchase.

Couldn’t pass up on a great discounted CPU for paying way below MSRP! I upgraded from R5 3600 6-CORE CPU to AMD’s top 5000 series CPU’s! I was struggling playing Call Of Duty Modern Warefare on my previous build with the R5 then upgraded, now I’m having a blast with beast of a component!

What a beast of a CPU, This thing is extremely powerful and can handle anything I throw at it with ease. It is certainly not the best bang for buck CPU, but the performance you get out of it is incredible. One thing I wish I knew going in, coming from a mid-range i5 CPU, this thing gets much hotter than those mid-range CPUs. 80c is normal under extreme load, and I have a very strong cooling system in a 360mm AIO and a very large case with excellent airflow. If you buy this CPU, thought MUST be put into a cooling solution either with a premium air cooler or an AIO.

Bought this on sale and it was worth every penny. I run eSports games at high refresh rates at 1080p and this gets me insanely high refresh rates and play VR racing sims at maxed resolution on my Quest 2 and this gives me no problems. My wife loves playing HL Alyx I currently have it paired with a 4070ti and it's a great combo.
