Fast processor but not fully compatible with fast
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fast pricessor. only disappoinment is low Memory passmark score even with DDR4 4000Mhz Corsair AMD qualified memory. it has to do to with latency interface on AMD vs. Intel. But other than that, super happy.

Great CPU
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely an amazing cpu. Runs a little hot even with a high performance liquid cooler installed on it but if you have good airflow it should help. (I believe it’s normal for Ryzens to run hot anyway)

Big let down by intel 12900 K
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve owned many CPUs and this by far is the One that let me down the most, I went from Intel 10900 K because my stream was struggling when I gamed I thought the more corse would help nope just as worst time spy bench marks are worse than 10900K cpu wise overclocking listening is a straight up Nightmare and I have a asus formula Crosshair gskill 3800 cl 16 Only good thing I can say about it is I can run 4000 MHz on it

Buy this if you want to grow into it.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are two schools of thought in this review. Something to think about. How big is my budget? Should I get this or should I get the 5900x. Will that extra 200$ break me?? Could I use that 200$ on a keyboard or towards my gpu?? For gaming right now the 5900x is best bang for your buck. Cyberpunk will use every core on that cpu. However Cyberpunk will use every core on the 5950x too. I know, I own this cpu. If you're buying this for gaming, buying the 5950x will give you headroom and future room to grow into for the next next-gen games.. Spending that extra 200$ will likely save you in the long run. Regardless if you go with the 5900x or the 5950x it's a win-win. Go with the 5900x if that additional 200$ will stop you from getting a rtx 3080. Go with the 5950x if you have the budget and don't like upgrading parts every couple of years. With this cpu the next future upgrade should be the 50 series gpu or the next amd card and not another cpu/mobo combo.

Excellent but runs super hot
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For what it is, the 5950x is an amazing cpu and even at $800 drove a bargain, much less at its former sale price of $550. Even against the mighty 12900K, this processor puts up a very strong fight and has done so even since the 10900K was around. Although it isn't primarily designed for gaming, the 5950x is a top performer in many gaming benchmarks while leading in multicore tasks. However, the 5950x is definitely not a 105W TDP processor in any way (if anything it will use about 125W in gaming so I would have at least advertised that number if I was AMD) but despite this the fact I can overclock on this CPU and cap out at 165W full load is absolutely insane, considering the 9900K used that much power for half the core/thread count. Nevertheless, especially in gaming the 5950x gets so hot that even with a new corsair 360mm AIO I still had to put a temperature cap of 80C in the BIOS which is frequently breached until 83C. If those last two points don't bother you then you are in for a treat here, if not then I definitely recommend considering a 5900x or 12900k instead.

AMD Forever
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have been looking forever. Wanted the 5900x, however this turned yellow, I had a heart attack and clicked. I have one cry baby complaint. The package of the flagship processor is a thin cardboard box, Reinforced by and X of cardboard and the processor is in plastic as usual. They used to throw in hard foam, nice box with a pull off top. This is a sempron box, if you remember those. So I knocked one point off for that. Anyway, it is a beast. Runs warmer than the 3900x by 20C, however never gets hotter than 85C, average is 70C Modern Warfare, with Corsair 240mm Icue Cooler. It will run all day 4.8-5.1. Three cores always 5.129 GHZ. Not to bad at all.

Fast. Compatible. Energy efficient. Works.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Note: If you're into gaming, most games won't make use of all 16 cores. If you're into number crunching, 3D rendering, video editing, and so on, then this is the CPU for you. Installation of this CPU to the motherboard is a breeze, far better of PCs from over a decade ago. Just ensure the pins line up to the motherboard socket and press down on its latch. Be sure to install all Windows or Linux drivers as applicable, to ensure compatibility with and stability for the OS. Ryzen chips get warm under default configuration use, so I'd recommend a liquid cooler pump. Best Buy sells notably good brands. To compare, a benchmark demo for Terragen takes 4 minutes 37 seconds using this CPU - which uses 100 watts. That is phenomenal and here's why: To compare against my 7.25 year-old previous computer being retired, running a Haswell 6-core CPU needing 150 watts on its own, the same benchmark render took 15 minutes 51 seconds. That's bad. Now, I generally don't overclock but as this old PC was to be discarded, so I upped its frequency and voltage requirement. As a result. the test render took 10 minutes 15 seconds -- but power usage was a horrific 200w. The 5950 is a winner by a HUGE margin, for processing power AND power consumption. (I read up on the Ryzen 7950, which is 33% faster but costs more due to being a new release. ) In the BIOS of the new motherboard, I disabled overclocking - the higher the core count only makes stability harder to achieve -- and I don't like throwing more volts into a system, especially if one wants their PC to last a while! (Officially compatible motherboards do have built-in settings for overclocking within tolerable specifications without the need for user input, but the gains aren't major enough so I disabled those. The result is a CPU that never gets warmer than 48C under load.) But this CPU honesty doesn't need to be overclocked. In the end, the cost benefit of the 5950 will more than make up the older PC fairly quickly and I can now do more complex renders. The reduced power requirement alone is a sweet spot. And with 16 cores/32 threads, there's no need to overclock.

AMD R 9
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ AMD CPU — Incredible Power and Performance! This AMD CPU blew me away. It delivers lightning-fast performance, smooth multitasking, and incredible efficiency whether I’m gaming, editing, or running heavy workloads. Temperatures stay low, everything feels responsive, and the overall stability is rock-solid. The value you get is outstanding — powerful cores, great boost speeds, and performance that competes with (or beats) much more expensive options. Installing and setting it up was a breeze, and it transformed my entire PC into a powerhouse. If you want top-tier performance without breaking the bank, this AMD CPU is the perfect choice. Truly exceptional!

I didn't know I needed 16 cores
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded from a 3900x and I thought this upgrade would be marginal at best. However, with PBO2 which is only available for the 5000 series CPUs, I could finally now have my cake and eat it too. You get the best of both worlds in being able to boost to 5ghz max for single core while also able to render using multi-core at boosted speeds of 4500-4600mhz. I could not do this with the 3900x since PBO1 was inflexible in terms of being able to retain boost for single core and multicore. I probably don't know enough to pull it off with PBO1 but I could say gaming performance is a lot better on the 5950x. Overall, I think I'll be keeping this processor for a long while because it doesn't slow down at all with anything I throw at it. Pretty happy to see AMD at the forefront.

Multi Core Multi Tasking Beast of a CPU
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think the reputation of this processor proceeds it at this point but the 5950x is a multi core beast. I was able to get this on sale because new chips will be announced next month. It crushes cinebench r23, I feel like it increased my boot times, and overall, made my computer feel snappier. It'll run a bit hotter but I recommend downloading Ryzen Master and turning on precision boost or do it in the BIOS if you're comfortable with that kind of thing. There's no cooler in the box and it recommends a water cooling solution. I use an AIO and it seems to work fine. You may be able to squeeze a few more performance percent points if you have a custom solution. It will run warm if you do any overclocking and even under precision boost. All in all a fantastic CPU.

Lighting Fast CPU

The processor didn't disappoint! Fast but does need to be liquid cooled as it does run a little hot. Overall I'm happy with my new CPU.

With this enthusiast processor you can enjoy extreme performance for gaming, creating, streaming, or whatever workload you choose. Plus, enjoy the benefits of next-gen AMD 3D V-Cache™ technology for low latency and even more game performance. The only downside if runs pretty warm.

Insane Performance Blow All Others Away
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This processor is absolutely incredible and a true next-generation chip. The single-core performance is currently better than any processor in the world, including Intel's current i9-10900k flagship. And considering it has 16 of these cores the multi-threaded performance is purely insane. I'm getting 12,700 scores in the CPU-Z benchmarks, while my 8700k (6c/12t) gets about 4,300. This chip will do anything you would ever want to do on your computer the best it can possibly be done. Best chip for gaming and productivity. It does generate a good bit a heat so I'd highly recommend you use a 360mm AIO to keep this thing cool, because the cooler you can keep the chip the faster it will run. AMD has taken the crown with this chip. If you can grab this unicorn do not hesitate.
