This router has great range, excellent speeds, and frequent firmware updates.

I nervously purchased this based on all the great comments and ignored the price. I have zero regrets and would recommend this to everyone. The wifi distance and quality of signal is unbeatable. It takes a little getting used to the phone app interface but wow. You don't need to hide this router. The visual touch screen interface on the front has so much information, you'll want it close and in sight.

The amplifi alien so far has been the most stable for my household, I’ve tried a couple of other ones, however this one has been the most consistent with performance and less drops on connections with practically all the smart devices in my house.and other . Not a fan of the price, but I suppose it’ll do since it works.

I’m a bit of a tech geek and have tried out literally two dozen different routers over the years. This one may not have advanced stuff like vpn support but IT IS BY FAR the most reliable of any routers I have ever tried. You simply install and set it up, and forget about it. Thats it. That is never the case with other machines. I was so impressed I have two of those now. I got one for my mom as well.

After years of trouble out of Netgear, Linksys, and several other brands. I was finally tired of even hearing the utterance of any big brand name. I seen a review for this guy and decided I had to give it a try. This unit turned out to be the most simplistic networking model I have worked with. There are some option I wish it had in the here/theres section BUT, it just WORKS. And thats just safety I can sleep with.

Ah, the Alien. I haven't seen a single review that down played the device. However, I really wish I had the money for the mesh kit, but the single unit reaches probably 50% further than my old unit and is rock solid with tons of bells and whistles. My lighting system likes it as well as the 22 devices I use with it. It was a good choice.

I purchased 3 of these for my home and they have been great. I get great wi-fi throughout our home and it even extends to my garage and back yard. Setting them up was super easy! A plus is not having to run ethernet cords everywhere since these work so well!

Bought an Alien initially but returned it as it had timed out twice in first 24 hours. Then bought another one and this purchase has been as I had expected. This Alien and been totally reliable and provided the type of speedy WiFi I expected. I am most pleased with this buy!

This replaced a defective (two) Netgear RAX120 and it is working flawlessly. I was considering this vs ASUS ET8 but I don't have the option of trying/testing. It works well and is certainly a BIG improvement over the (2) RAX120. Customer support is responsive and thorough also.

I bought two of these to set up a mesh network to cover 2 floors. The range was so good that i can now get wifi in my back yard and even on the outside in my driveway. My other well know 3 device mesh coundn’t do that. They are exirnsive but you get what you pay for. Quality and perfirmance.

I live in a two story home just under 3,000sqft. For the past few years I have been using the Netgear Orbi Mesh system, which was a big improvement on the single router and range extender that I was using prior. My Orbi was capable of a maximum 800mbps transfer speed. As my home has become more WiFi connected with smart bulbs, multiple streaming devices, Ring cams, etc., I was noticing some real performance issues with my Orbi. The final straw came for me when Netgear pushed a recent update that knocked me off the Internet for most of the day until I could ascertain the problem, but I was so annoyed I began looking for alternatives. I found the Amplifi Alien and started reading the reviews. I decided to roll the dice and buy the single router, not the router with mesh extender, just to see how it performed. Setting it up was super easy and fast. While I was very pleased with the performance, I decided that to really cover my entire home with 5g, I needed to purchase a second Amplifi, which I configured as the mesh unit and placed it on the opposite side of the house. Yes, it was somewhat expensive, but the performance is outstanding with no more "buffering" and my Ring cams all snap right to attention whereas before, there would be unacceptable lag when engaging live view. These things look and perform amazing. I've only had them in operation for a few weeks now, but so far, I am glad I made the investment.
