Positive feedback also highlights the excellent coverage and the user-friendly app. While some find the price high and a few experienced issues with heat or firmware, the majority of users report a positive experience. The router's WiFi 6 capabilities and clear display are also frequently cited as advantages.

Great Abilities; Limited in Mesh Usability

Setup is super fast & easy. The touchscreen and menu is easy to follow and a nice upgrade over many comparable units. The range is outstanding compared to similarly priced models, and even outperforms ones that are higher in price. The biggest con is the Mesh networking is not compatible with other mesh systems and mesh points. The Alien router is only able to connect to another Alien router as a mesh point. I think this really limits the usability of this router as a true mesh system when compared to other available systems. However, the standalone features and capabilities of this router exceed those of similarly priced models by a good margin.

Power house of a machine with great home coverage. Better then my orbi and eero that I tried. The set up is as simple as it gets. Remove the Ethernet cable from your isp plug it in and let it run for 1 minute and all set up!

This router is fantastic. I had been using a Netgear Orbi system but wanted Wifi 6 so I upgraded to the Alien. This single unit covers my 2200 Sq Ft home all by itself without multiple units. The Oled screen is overkill and totally cool at the same time. Setup is a breeze with the phone app.

As someone with an interest in and having worked with Ubiquiti equipment, the AMPLIFI Alien gives you a comparable feature set with simplified options to keep devices connected as an all in one package. The router provides excellent Wi-Fi coverage and LAN connections are rated for 1 Gbps. The built in speed test has consistently shown slower speeds than when tested with a device wired directly to the router. Being able to create separate Wi-Fi networks on each frequency from WiFi 6 and a dedicated IoT system isolated from the rest of the network has been the most useful feature for security purposes. Teleport is a feature that may be useful to access the home network while away, but has not been utilized personally.

WOW! So I bought this router because the one I originally purchased was constantly disconnecting my devices. So I, on a whim, decided to pull the trigger on it. At first, many said it’s not worth its price and its more of a novelty router. But, let me tell you, this router has given me the fastest speeds around 700-800 MBs on WIFI, and easily 1500 MBs wired. Granted I do pay for Gigabit internet. This has been the fastest and most reliable router I’ve used. The screen is actually cool and very informative, it shows you your network speed, traffic and you can also track when your network usage spikes. I get great home coverage and I have at least 20 devices connected with 0 issues. Only, real complaint is the lack of Ethernet jacks, it only has 3 compared to a usual router with 5+. This router is easily worth the money and if you can snag it on a deal, it makes it even more worth it.

I’m an IT guy, and this Router has been the best. It’s not the latest tech. but you probably don’t need the latest. It’s one of the strongest signals out there

Recently upgraded my whole internet system and this Amplifi Alien is my favorite product. I have been using it for months now and have had absolutely no wifi issues what so ever. The only thing I had trouble with was with spectrum in my area, I was unable to get my full speed because they kept me capped at 300mbps and they refused to help because of the third party router. I switch to AT&T fiber and haven’t looked back. Some people I know use this router with Spectrum with no problem but that wasn’t my case.

I really wanted to like this router. Love the hardware. The Android app is useful and clean. The WiFi speeds are amazing. The problem? The firmware, I guess. After multiple factory resets, I could simply not get this thing to broadcast separate 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz SSIDs. I got it to work once, but then it just stopped for no apparent reason. Amplifi customer support told me to try a factory reset but I decided to just return it instead. Too bad.

Great as a stand alone router. I live in a 1400sqft townhouse and have no issue with dead zones or connecting. Steaming Netflix and other services run smoothly and smart devices are responsive. Only downside is no QoS. There is a simplified three icon selection for priorities of devices but that is all.

Seriously, the best! Plain and simple! Super simple! Over performs. Best router I've ever used. Usually other routers will fluctuate in speed or performance and need unplugged here and there. This one has been staying strong in every category! Wish I would've bought it sooner.

Was having multiple wifi drops throughout the day with AT&T's BGW210. Bridged it into this bad boy and all is well. No drops, excellent coverage, and excellent added features. I will be adding a second router to my home as a mesh point in the future.

I previously had the AmpliFi Dual Mesh system and nothing was wrong with it. I recently switched to Google Fiber so it made sense to upgrade my router. The AmpliFi Alien works so well my internet is running on lightspeed with only one mesh router.
