Great looking product - Poor performance!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent aesthetic design and user interface. But the wireless performance (coverage) is poor. VPN Access to the unit only from iOS/Android Apps, but no luck for MacOS! Frequent issues (with advanced features turned on) with iPhone 14 (Pro and Pro Max devices at our home) WiFi performance working with these units - only way out is to toggle “Airplane Mode” or need to restart the unit(s). Net-net, poor value for your money!

Don’t let the looks get you
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great router and very modern looking but for the investment….skip this and get something not as flashy but better quality. I returned this for the Linksys Hydra Pro which is WiFi 6E. It was on sale for the same price and 6E is future proofing.

Really wanted to love it.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've heard nothing but good things about this router and the company that makes it so I had really high hopes for it and purchased it for my parents to replace their aging Apple Time Capsule. Unfortunately after setting it up, there's been nothing but problems. I was able to fix the speed issue by messing around with some of the settings. You'll find some of the settings that should increase the speeds actually do quite the opposite. In regards to range, the house isn't much more than 2000 sq ft and devices that are maybe 60-80 feet away from the router are only getting 39%. A lot of the devices struggling with range are Apple so maybe Amplify routers just don't play nice with Apple for some reason. The router also unexpectedly reboots a lot which causes everything to frequently stop working unexpectedly. Imagine watching TV (they have U-Verse) and all of a sudden it just cuts out for a few minutes and then comes back on without warning. And it does this multiple times throughout the day. Firmware is up-to-date and there's very few options that you're able to modify within the settings.

Hardwired Speed is Awesome. WI-Fi not so much
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After spending half a day troubleshooting with Amplifi, we are still nowhere close to achieving the speeds from my ISP. amplifi to MacBook via ethernet I get 1200+Mbps. Amplifi to MacBook via Wi-Fi, ifs a struggle to maintain half that. Two aliens meshed wirelessly together, the mesh speed is ~1000Mbps so i really have no clue why the alien can’t reach at least close to that over a wireless connection.

You can't run a custom DNS like a pihole server
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite upgrading the firmware and following the support recommendations to enable Bypass upstream DNS and entering my own DNS server IP addresses it refused to keep those settings. Every time you save the settings or reboot it it would overwrite the DNS entries to whatever my ISP gave it for DNS servers. Completely unacceptable especially for a Ubiquity backed product.

What Wi-Fi?
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought 2 systems. 1 on marketplace and one at bb on the app. To be fair my issues are coming from the marketplace one and they finally stopped but for a year the thing would just kick all 40 of my devices off. They could re-join, but everything required a factory reset for reasons unknown. When you have a fully integrated smart home, that’s no small task… that’s a weekend project. The issue corrected itself after about 12 months and they are great routers now… Best Buy is primarily the reason for the low rating. Definitely do NOT purchase anything at Best Buy that can be found anywhere else-because once you get that receipt, you’re on your own and that receipt is worth less than the paper it’s printed on. At one point I had a Best Buy agent put me on hold when I asked for a SUP. For 1 hour and 45 minutes. She intermittently told me a supervisor would call back but i said I’d hold the line because she had told me the same thing yesterday and last week! She finally hung up and I ultimately gave up. But I don’t shop here anymore. I’m heavily addicted to shopping and I can say wholeheartedly that Best Buy is the worst retail in America hands down. Like, by miles. Not even a competition.

Didn’t work for me
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an irreconcilable issue between my Motorola Modem and this device. I have a gigabit connection and most routers I have used can attain those speeds, the alien was unable to break the 450mb mark at the router, Wi-Fi was even more dreadful. I gave it a two because the app, touchscreen and overall GUI was nice. Shame that it didn’t work out for me. Motorola MB8600 modem and Spectrum for the provider.

Didn't work on most devices
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Install was quick and easy, but wifi wouldn't send data through to most of our devices. Tried separating the bands and connecting to each separately, but still no data would go through. Restarted all our devices, factory reset the router, and all sorts of combinations over a couple hours and nothing would work. Gave up and returned it for an Orbi and that's been working flawlessly.

Overpriced garbage
