Nice WiFi extender
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This works very well, it’s not just an extender, rather than buy a new WiFi modem WiFi router combo, I got this which great extends range and adds ac to the n WiFi I was using improving streaming tv stability. Really cool that the main unit the hardwires into your modem has a touch screen that shows speed and day and date data etc, only thing I find annoying is the really cool lights around the base of both the router and mesh come on during the day and go off at night, otherwise they would emit a really clean glow around the units enhancing their environment.

Can't handle more that 250Mbps down
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit was easy to setup and use. Unfortunately it can not handle more than 250Mbps download hardwired into its Ethernet port. I worked with tech support for 12 days to be told that the Instant Router has less processing power than the AmpliFi HD so I should upgrade to it instead. I mentioned that all their marketing shows it getting 900Mbps and support told me this product could not get those speeds. I returned the product and went with Google Wifi. Just as easy to setup, better wireless coverage with only 2 mesh points but it can handle 900Mbps down. If you don't have internet speeds past 300Mbps the AmpliFi Instant router will work for you.

Small footprint yet awesome coverage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didn't know what to expect with such a tiny router but the coverage I get in my home is amazing. I have the main router in my office downstairs, and with the wife's approval I put the extender in the kitchen. The entire house is covered and the only dead spot I have is in the far corner of my back yard. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Router kept randomly shutting off
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This device was not a 2 minute setup for us. First we have a combination of a modem with a wifi dual band router. We setup the Amplifi router to the ISP supplied wifi router and kept the modem connected to the internet port on the ISP Netgear router. Seems simple, but we could not get the Amplifi router to stay powered on to complete the setup process. The device shut off 3 times when we attempted to set up. Once we finally completed the setup of the router, we then tried to setup the mesh point. After several attempts the app was not able to find the mesh point. So then we did a hard reset on the mesh point then router. Again router wouldn't come back on. Once the devices were back on we had to do a firmware update. After about 3 hours...yes 3 hours...we finally got both devices connected and operating. the Amplifi did not improve our wifi signal at all, then after intermittent signal saga, the router shut down again. At this point we decided to be done and return the unit. We discovered that our existing wifi extender we relocated after we giving up on Amplifi actually was more stable and reliable with the wifi signal despite it still having some connectivity issues overall.
