    Awesome handheld console

I purchased the Anbernic 406H handheld gaming console through Best Buy, and one thing to note right away is that it didn’t come with a preloaded SD card, unlike when buying directly from Anbernic’s website. That aside, the console itself is fantastic. The transparent purple shell instantly hits that nostalgic sweet spot, reminding me of classic handhelds from my childhood. The screen is bright and crisp, and the entire unit feels solid and well-built in hand. Following the setup video from Retro Gaming Corps on YouTube, getting everything configured was surprisingly easy. So far, I’ve played Game Boy Advance, GameCube, Nintendo 64, PS1, and PS2 games, and every title I’ve tried has run great. The only hiccup I hit was with the GameCube library not showing up in the Daijisho front end, but that was quickly fixed after a quick Google search—if your games are in ISO format, just convert them to RVZ and they’ll appear correctly. Because the 406H is Android-based and the screen is touchscreen compatible, I’m also able to download and play newer games from the Google Play Store without any issues, which adds even more versatility to the device. Overall, I’m very happy with the 406H. It offers true portability and lets me replay the games I grew up with on a single console, without needing a whole stack of old systems. If you’re into retro gaming and don’t mind setting up your own SD card, this handheld is an excellent choice.

Wish I Stuck With Real Retro Systems

After trying this emulator for a while, I realized I actually prefer playing on real retro handhelds or even on my phone. With original systems, you just pop in a cartridge and start playing—simple and hassle-free. Emulators, on the other hand, mean dealing with ROMs, downloads, and possible risks like viruses. Honestly, I wish I had known this before buying.

Glad to see anbernic available at Best Buy, my 406v handles GC, DC, SS, PS2 games on its 4:3 screen with accurate no drift Hall effect sticks and comfortable size. It plays every late 90's / early 2000 game I've thrown at it. Its nice to have a device that just plays games and I can let my phone take a break.

Exceptional Device For All Your Classical Needs

While I didn't specifically purchase the RG 406H from Best buy, I did purchase it from Anbernic themselves. The 406H (and it's sister unit, the 406V) are excellent devices for mobile gaming. The use of the Android OS provides a familiar and friendly experience for users. When utilizing applications & software built around Android and these types of devices, it creates a streamlined user friendly gaming experience unmatched at this price point and only rivaled by that of it's competitor Retroid Pocket. When considering purchasing this device, I would advise consumers to research various use case scenarios. What do they want put of this device, and how would it benefit them. For me, this is my primary go to handheld for on the go gaming. The device is small enough to comfortably fit in my bag, or backpack, and with a case, I'm confident in it's ability to weather the storm of being tossed around. It unfortunately is just a tad bit too big to be pocketable comfortably, though. Despite it's size, it sports a beautiful 4:3 display, hall effect joysticks, and nice clicky buttons that feel natural and nice to use. The powerful chipset allows this device to emulate upwards to PS2, NGC, and even some Wii titles. It truly is a remarkable device. It's also pretty ergonomic, making it easy to hold for various lengths of time. My old, decrepit, beaten-up hands don't hurt nearly as much as they do when holding a phone. TLDR: Yes you can emulate pretty high up Yes it's very comfortable Yes it is a joy to use Also very much yes, it DOES support cloud gaming (hello Game pass) Tips: Do your research. If you want to get the most out of this device, I'd advise it. As investing into a device like this with no knowledge of what this device is capable of will leave you very disappointed and short $200. But! If you do your research properly, and prepare accordingly, this device will undoubtedly be your very best friend, and one you'll never leave home without. This unit is great. If you know what you're getting into you'll be happy with this purchase. It's one of the most comfortable 4:3 handheld units. You do need to set everything up though so having some knowledge of android retro gaming handhelds helps. Would highly recommend.

Great handheld, but a little under powered for what i wanted. Also be warned these dont come pre loaded with any games, just the emulator software, and also no included memory card.
