Don't expect the first one, but see this film.

Try to get the 763 new jokes version with the blu-ray, dvd and hd digital copy. It's a great value! It hits home on how outrageous of this film is. Beware that it doesn't flow anywhere like the 1st film does. It's a good time and laughs but don't take it too serious. Almost 2.5 hrs long and full of comedy.

Actually, I'm not even mad... That's impressive...

It took its sweet time, but there is finally a sequel to the cult classic Anchorman, and it actually stands up toe to toe with the first film. Filled with the original cast, not missing a beat in the 9 year span, funny script and directed really well, this is actually worth your time and guaranteed to make you laugh and fall in love again with the characters, or at least a lamp. The PQ sourced from a digital shoot is very impressive with loads of detail in the sets, costumes and actors and very sunny scenes to follow through with the original look of the first film to great effect. The AQ is as equally impressive, with certain scenes with nice bass, surround use and accurate dialogue heard throughout. Following through with the first film, there are tons of extras to spelunk through, including 3 different cuts of the film, spread over this 3-disc set. Disc one holds the Theatrical cut and Extended cut with the commentary with cast and crew, one featurette, 7 different sets of outtakes and alternate lines, and multiple sets of table reads. Disc two holds the Super Sized cut of the film, four featurettes, deleted and extended scenes, Pre-visualizations, audition tapes, music video and multiple trailers finishing off disc 2. Disc 3 is just the featureless DVD of the theatrical cut only and a UV code rounding off this amazing Blu Ray disc. All in all, this is a huge recommendation with hours and hours of extras, multiple cuts of the film, amazing picture and sound make for just an awesome time.

All You Can Do is Watch Anchorman 2

Seven years after capturing the heart of co-anchor Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), newsman Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell) is offered the chance of a lifetime: a spot on the world's first 24-hour global cable news network. Ron quickly assembles his team: Champ Kind (David Koechner), Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) and Brick Tamland (Steve Carell). Challenged by his tough female boss, a network owner and a popular anchor, Ron and his pals must find their own way to the top of the ratings

Not too bad, not too great

Ever been out with friends and just had a really great time, and then the next week or month or whenever you all get back together again, you try to do the same thing again? You may still have fun, but it just isn't as fun as that one magical time. That is how I feel about Anchorman 2. It was great to see the cast together, and it sure seemed like they were having a good time, but it just wasn't as magical (and quotable) as the first time. It was a decent effort nonetheless, and it certainly had some good laughs, but it just didn't live up to the very high enjoyment I had of the first film. Nonetheless, I would recommend it as a general comedy, and likely if you enjoyed the first one, you already watched this anyway.

Not as good as part 1, still funny

It took 10 years to make a sequel to the nearly perfect Anchorman 1, and while this movie is funny and has a LOT of memorable one liners, it just doesn't stack up to the first one. At one point in the film, Ron Burgundy gets injured and the whole pace on the film just gets tossed out the window. After that brief 15 minute interlude, the film gets back on track and finishes strong with lots of great cameos. Surprisingly Steve Carrel and Kristin Wig make the film worse, not better, but the rest of the cast is solid. Getting the regular versions and 2 extended versions in 1 package is pretty great too. Loads of DVD extras as well. If you're a huge Will Ferrell or Anchorman fan, buy it, otherwise a rental would suffice.

Not as great as the first but still fun

Quite funny, especially during the first half of the film, but the second half sort of drags. If you are a fan of the first anchorman though, I don't see why you would completely dislike this. If you didn't like the first, there's no reason for you to like the second. The best version probably is the Extra long R-rated one, though there are some great things that are different in the Unrated. If you already think the film is too long though, the R-rated one probably isn't for you. If you are a fan of Brick Tamaland you will probably like this one. He has alot more screentime. If you don't like him, you might just roll your eyes out of your head even more than you would normally.

    An Over-The-Top Comedy!!!

    |
    Posted .

Cable news shows have become, besides a place for real news, a place for entertainment, as taken to the extreme on the comedy news channels of today. Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues combines these real news shows with comedy news by telling the story of GNN, a fictitious 24-hour cable news channel, from an over-the-top comedy point of view. This is a very good sequel to the original Anchorman. Anyone that is a fan of the first movie will not be disappointed with adding this blu-ray to their movie collection. I purchased this movie on it's release date and received 100 bonus points from Best Buy.

Should grow on you, like the original

The film gets funnier after repeated viewings, like the original. The original hit a comedic tone not seen for some time in mainstream comedy. "Anchorman 2" had a lot to live up to, and the first viewing left something to be desired despite it's fair share of laughs and enjoyment. But with additional viewings I found it funnier--the more "lived-in" you feel with the proceedings the funnier it gets. "Anchorman" was a slow burn, and just as people returned to it and found it funnier with each viewing they too would be rewarded by giving "Anchorman 2" another look.

Solid follow up. Must own for any Will Ferrel fan.

Anchorman 2 is exactly what you would expect. Absurd plot, overacting, ridiculous and absolutely fantastic. The jokes are pretty much nonstop. It doesn't live up to the cult classic first movie, but it would be unfair to expect it to. There really isn't much to say. If you are a fan of Anchorman and haven't bought this yet, what is the hold up? It is a must own for Anchorman and Will Farrell fans.

    Overloaded Blu-ray release

I may have overhyped the release for this movie for myself (or maybe seeing Will Ferrell everywhere did). The first 'Anchorman' was very unexpected. So many stupid laugh out loud jokes. This movie felt just a little disappointing. Don't get me wrong, this movie is still hilarious. I give this release a lot of praise mainly for the extras. In the end, a good follow up to the legend of Ron Burgundy.

    Better than the Original!

I found the first Anchorman mildly entertaining. So I went into the sequel expecting much of the same. But I let the theatre more than satisfied. This movie is hilarious. Everyone brought their "A" game. And what is great is that with this set, you have so many options on how to watch it. The theatrical cut is the most well rounded of the three. And the unrated cut is pretty similar to the theatrical cut, with some minor adjustments to the jokes. Then there is the Super-sized R-rated version. That version inserts different jokes, extends some scenes, and has a hilarious musical number. And if 3 different cuts of the movie wasn't enough, this set is louded with special features. That is something you don't see much of anymore. And with a top notch picture and audio quality, this is a phenomenal set for a hilarious film.

Hilarious, but not up to the standard of the first

The second Anchorman movie has all of the elements of the epic first one, but there was only so much that could be done without either blatantly copying the first or going too far astray from the first. I thought the balance was good, and the first half of the movie had some great one-liners. Definitely recommended, but don't expect it to be as overall funny or good as the first.

This guy Will Ferrell is absolutely 1 of my favorites comedians now and of all time, he absolutely promises and delivers so many laugh out loud moments you just won't be able to walk away with a serious face. He deserves to be where he's at amongst Americas best and most very talented people. He is why I recorded SNL when before he was even famous. He gives to you what he's always given to me joy, laughter, and appreciation for his craft, his talent, his courage to get up there and pursue comedy in ways regular citizens would find crazy or absurd so if you guys have a passion or a dream and it seems over the top far fetched impossible just look to him and realize if he's where he is right now just think where you could be if you follow your heart and dreams.

this printer came at a great price. it was fairly easy to install. it came with a good customer satisfaction rating. the one downfall was the lack of an instruction manual on how to use the various functions. instead the owner is required to go online tor these instructions and i find that inconvenient.

    The Comedy Continues

If you laughed at the first Anchorman, you will probably enjoy this one as well. Yes, it's juvenile and crude at times, but there are still many funny bits. I wouldn't recommend the Super Size version unless you are a huge fan as it is all too easy to tell why much of it was left on the cutting room floor for theatrical release.

    Even funnier than the first

Even if you haven't seen the original Anchorman, this movie will entertain you and have you laughing out loud. There is some reoccurring jokes that were slightly less effective this time around so if you did see part one, hang in there it gets funnier and if ron burgundy is new to you, you may enjoy the early stages of the movie as well. As the movie gets going the laughs increase and peak at the star studded news anchor fight which was a recycled joke that not only worked, but was even more hilarious than the first movies' battle. Overall, this is a movie that doesn't take itself too seriously and neither should viewers, it is purely comedic entertainment that requires no thinking, just sit back relax and laugh.

If you're a Will Ferrell fan, you'll enjoy this movie. Ron Burgundy is back with his absurd views and narcissistic tendencies. It's not quite as good as the first, but what sequel is. It's got some great laughs from the whole news crew. Ferrell and McKay let their imaginations run free and the result is a wild, weird, funny movie.

Funny but the ending isn't great

I usually don't expect much from sequels, but this one made me laugh quite a bit. However, the fight scene was forced and unfunny - almost uncomfortable to watch it was so bad. They were trying to re-create one of the funniest parts of the original movie and they failed. Still worth seeing though.
