Older car with no bluetooth but good speakers. This device has worked reliably since installation now I can listen to iPhone music and podcasts AND take phone calls. When testing with engine off in a quiet driveway I could hear some hiss with phone on the console that disappeared holding the phone near the roof where the antenna is located. BUT you can't hear the hiss on the road anyways so that's a non-issue.

I've had a couple versions of FM transmitters over the years and they've always had issues with frequencies strength or battery life. This little unit does exactly what it says it does flawlessly. Set up was quick and easy and there's an accompanying app for your phone which had some great usability but I disabled it to avoid the notifications. The sound quality is the best I have experienced with this type of equipment and I really appreciate the tactile controls for songs skipping and the multi function button for pause, play and answering phone calls. Using these is much less awkward than trying to access these functions on the touch screen of my phone while driving. The dual USB ports is also a nice feature an oddly seems to charge my phone faster than the one that came with it. I love my old car and I'm not ready to give up on her just yet and this really helps bridge the gap between her and the conveniences of newer automobiles.

I have a couple ROAV chargers and they are excellent. I know they are just simple chargers, but the design and fit and finish are awesome, and they always fit snugly in my vehicle's power ports. They are definitely worth the extra price. My latest acquisition... ROAV SmartCharge F2 FM Transmitter is no different. The Bluetooth FM transmitter works great in my 2005 Toyota Sienna (with CD/Tape, but no Aux input) using the default station that came up, 95.1. I've use the tape-deck converters before, but it's one more cord to get tangled and inevitably the cord will get kinked and develop issues. Once connected to my phones music, the ROAV's play/pause/reverse/forward buttons work great and the music broadcast via FM is clear and every bit as good as the tape option. Plus, now with this ROAV, I have two charging ports, and could even play music from a USB drive if wanted. No regrets on this purchase, and will likely get one for my other older vehicles.

I purchased this item before and extended long distance road trip that I took recently in my 2004 Toyota. With this device I was able to keep my cell phone charged even though I was running detailed step by step navigation most of the day. This normally drains my phone's battery in less than a day. Also I was able to use the FM transmitter to set up a Bluetooth connection between my cell phone and the vehicle's existing FM radio and play music selections from my phone through the vehicles speakers. Much of the trip was through long stretches of rural areas where radio reception was poor and sparse. This product actually works better in such conditions since it depends on there being unused FM space available. In large cities you may have to search around for some unused FM frequencies as you move through the area.

Works great right out of the box. Was able to stream music and get nav directions through the car radio. Easily found a radio station to use in NYC and had no static or crackling. Also like the feature to move through streaming songs on the transmitter eliminating a need to look at the phone.

Bought it for my son and he loves it. He’s been looking for Bluetooth for a long time then one day we went to Best Buy and found one for reasonable price very easy to use and connect to the car. So far so good without any problem when connecting his phone thru the car from Bluetooth.

I have an older car with a Bose system from the factory, but its generation doesn't have phone integration. I've tried a number of FM transmitters to play music from my phone, but most fade in and out and are difficult to tune to an unused station. The Roav works VERY well with no fade. Plus it charges your phone while you use it. It is low profile and doesn't interfere with the stick shift in my car. Plus, with the phone app, you can set the FM station easily rather than stepping through stations with button presses. I am now done shopping for an FM transmitter solution.

I purchased a 2012 Audi S5 and although it has Bluetooth, it only works w phone calls, not w streaming music. This device fixed that issue. Now I can stream Waze or Googlemaps navigation and music (Pandora, Spotify or music saved on phone in I tunes)! I also get phone calls through the car speakers w this device. Easy setup, no static. It plugs into cigarette lighter and can listen wirelessly w phone in pocket or mounted. It also has 2 USB ports so on long trip I can charge phone battery as well as one additional passenger. Works as advertised. Highly recommend if you have an older car and are used to Bluetooth.

    Another Great Anker Product

To start out, I'm a bit biased toward Anker products, I've never had a bad experience with a product of customer service. This device is pretty incredible. I've used FM Transmitters in the past and had bad experiences, but when I heard Anker was making one, I thought I would give it a try. The audio quality was quite surprisingly crisp, and for the price it's hard to justify another option. In the worst case scenario, you have a dual high speed car charger. One thing that pleasantly surprised me about this device is that it has a 3.5mm line out, meaning if your vehicle has an aux port, you can use this to connect to your vehicle via bluetooth and bypass the FM transmitter altogether. Great product, would definitely recommend.

I purchased a less expensive version and this is DEFINITELY worth the extra $10. I did have to ask a salesperson to find it, for some reason this model was on the other side of the store than the cheap one. This one stays secure in the plug even on bumpy dirt roads. Also it charges my phone really fast. It has such a far Bluetooth connection it picks up when I’m in my house so I have to disconnect on my phone when not in my car. I leave it plugged in all the time as to not wear out the connection and have never had any issues. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Previously I used a himbox plugged into the 3.5 mm aux port of a Sony CD head unit This worked reasonably well but, aside from the 2 wires coming from one of the two USB charging outlets, I could never use the button on the microphone pod to answer any phone calls. I used in the past, a couple of FM transmitter devices and another old model with a dummy cassete which contacted the play tape head in order to use a portable CD player in the car. These were very unsatisfactory workarounds as they were subject to alternator and spark plug noise. This Anker Roav unit is a pleasant surprise and a joy to use. The sonics are pretty decent using the FM tuner but channel selection is very important here. Of course, the hard wired option provides a better listening choice but you"re stuck with having to route and secure a (not included) 3.5 mm double ended stereo phone plug cable. As my head unit didn't have a USB music input, I'm glad to have that option available. The Android phone app is reasonably useful. I used it to turn off the voice connection prompt. It does however, place an intermittent banner on my phone when I'm using a Bluetooth speaker away from my car. Hopefully I can find a way to turn this off in a menu setting. All in all I'm happy with this purchase. I can see this useful as a travel device for use in a rental car.

The anker-Roav smartcharge worked great as a Bluetooth transmitter. Connection is super easy, no dropped signals and minimal interference. Only thing I would improve on is the phone connection. I have no problem hearing the incoming calls, but the people I'm talking to seem to have a hard time hearing me speak. Don't know if I'm talking in the wrong place or where exactly I should be speaking. Another than that it's a great little unit, and the speed charger is amazing-very fast!

Before the Anker Roav FM Transmitter I had an FM transmitter from Five Below, and let me say leveling up has been an amazing experience. It was very easy to set up and I got my music to start playing through my car speakers in minutes. I highly recommend this to anyone who is in need of a reliable, quality audio FM transmitter.

This was the first bluetooth FM transmitter I have ever tried, and it's great! Easy to sync to phone, and my wife ran it through the washer and dryer in my cargo pants pocket, and it still works! Only reason it's not 5 stars is the app you can put on your phone to access extra features is clunky, not very user friendly.

I needed to find a new way to play my Spotify music with my phone in my car, so I headed to Best Buy. They walked me through what transmitters were available and this one fit the bill (plus it was on sale). It works pretty well - you need to ensure it's plugged into the cigarette lighter or power outlet so that it can pair up, but once it pairs, it works flawlessly. There are times you might need to change the radio station to tune in, but that's expected.
