Best $30 for an old car.

Just buy this. If you want to know more, read on. I've tried at least half a dozen of these over the years, ranging from battery powered to USB to car 12V. I've always had issues getting a strong enough signal that actually sounded good and solid and that didn't need to be retuned every ten miles. I'll just explain the setup and controls now. Find an empty frequency on your receiver, preferably with a weak or no signal on either side to avoid bleed over. Plug this in, set transmitter to same one. You instantly hear the static go to silence on the radio. Find the transmitter on your phone or device BT and pair. Done. Obviously this was done on an old car and I couldn't tell the difference between this, regular radio, and CD in sound quality. You can skip forward and back with the arrow buttons and the little phone icon button serves as play/pause when music is going. This, paired with two USB chargers, one being 2.4A and the ability to connect a USB flash drive to this directly makes it the best $30 upgrade you can do to an old car.

Previously I used a himbox plugged into the 3.5 mm aux port of a Sony CD head unit This worked reasonably well but, aside from the 2 wires coming from one of the two USB charging outlets, I could never use the button on the microphone pod to answer any phone calls. I used in the past, a couple of FM transmitter devices and another old model with a dummy cassete which contacted the play tape head in order to use a portable CD player in the car. These were very unsatisfactory workarounds as they were subject to alternator and spark plug noise. This Anker Roav unit is a pleasant surprise and a joy to use. The sonics are pretty decent using the FM tuner but channel selection is very important here. Of course, the hard wired option provides a better listening choice but you"re stuck with having to route and secure a (not included) 3.5 mm double ended stereo phone plug cable. As my head unit didn't have a USB music input, I'm glad to have that option available. The Android phone app is reasonably useful. I used it to turn off the voice connection prompt. It does however, place an intermittent banner on my phone when I'm using a Bluetooth speaker away from my car. Hopefully I can find a way to turn this off in a menu setting. All in all I'm happy with this purchase. I can see this useful as a travel device for use in a rental car.

I've had a couple versions of FM transmitters over the years and they've always had issues with frequencies strength or battery life. This little unit does exactly what it says it does flawlessly. Set up was quick and easy and there's an accompanying app for your phone which had some great usability but I disabled it to avoid the notifications. The sound quality is the best I have experienced with this type of equipment and I really appreciate the tactile controls for songs skipping and the multi function button for pause, play and answering phone calls. Using these is much less awkward than trying to access these functions on the touch screen of my phone while driving. The dual USB ports is also a nice feature an oddly seems to charge my phone faster than the one that came with it. I love my old car and I'm not ready to give up on her just yet and this really helps bridge the gap between her and the conveniences of newer automobiles.

Simple, reliable Bluetooth adapter for older vehicles. Wireless connectivity from your Bluetooth device to your FM radio. Nice small unit that's not obtrusive poking out of your dashboard. Pairs easily, and the FM side puts a good signal out, very stable. Important note - before you buy, be sure you can find an unused FM frequency in your area - if you are in an area that has a crowded dial it may not be easy or possible at all. Having accomplished that, the operation is very easy. The digital tuner makes it simple to tune to your selected frequency. Bluetooth pairing is easy and reliable. I haven't experienced any dropouts as I've seen with some devices. Added bonus is the two USB charging ports, easy to access right up front. In fact, it would be easy to mistake this for just a dual charger- and it charges very fast. For 30 bucks it's pretty hard to go wrong with this one.

Exactly as advertised. Only minor complaints.

The device does exactly what it says it does. A two USB car charger/FM transmitter. It is very easy to set up and, at least in my area, works perfectly. I have zero static when using a clear radio station (pure white noise) and the sound that comes out is good for me. My only complaints are minor at best. Certain apps on my phone, like Spotify, tend to have very low volume while using the transmitter via Bluetooth (I've yet to test it with the AUX option) and there is an issue now and again when my phone refuses to connect to it automatically when the car starts. A quick restart of my phone fixes this issue quite easily, however. Overall? A great option if you want to play your music/e-books/podcasts in your car and have no other options available to you.

This is an amazing product. You plug it into the cigarette hookup and it immediately looks for a bluetooth device. As soon as you go to bluetooth on your phone all you have to do is click on the transmitter and you're done. It sounds great, there's no static and it is very easy to use. It sounds way better than the insignia wired transmitter I had (which I exchanged for this!) I love it and I would recommend this for anyone who doesn't already have bluetooth in their vehicle. The only small issue I have is the charging feature doesn't support Samsung fast charging but that's no big deal. Great product

I have an older car with a Bose system from the factory, but its generation doesn't have phone integration. I've tried a number of FM transmitters to play music from my phone, but most fade in and out and are difficult to tune to an unused station. The Roav works VERY well with no fade. Plus it charges your phone while you use it. It is low profile and doesn't interfere with the stick shift in my car. Plus, with the phone app, you can set the FM station easily rather than stepping through stations with button presses. I am now done shopping for an FM transmitter solution.

So the device tends to have issues connecting to my phone on a "cold connect". Unplugging it and plugging back in tends to help it connect when it happens. Audio playback is great, music sounds good but the built in mic for calls seems to sound like you are far away so keep it in clear sight and away from anything that can block the mic. Build quality is actually quite nice, its quite a premium feeling plastic so I hope it will last for quite some time. I'd definitely pick one up if you have a older vehicle and don't feel like buying a new head unit that has Bluetooth connectivity if you are in a state that requires hands free.

The piece itself looks nice and all but it doesn’t work as well as it says. (1) When you try to use it for calls it makes your voice sound staticy and distant on the other end. (2) If you have Apple products, it will cut Siri off when you are trying to give a command. (3) When you use the Bluetooth to listen to music on the FM transmitter it makes a static noise that you can often hear while your music is playing. (4) Lastly, it will add static to your other radio channels that never had static before. You have to unplug it to get rid of the static for other channels to sound normal again.

Did what I needed at first. My Bluetooth went out in my vehicle and I saw this and was so happy at the idea of having it back for about $20. You get what you pay for. It instantly worked great and I had my music and hands free phone back. But after a few weeks it started emitting a high pitched noise that never stopped. Even when music played you could still hear it. I could ignore or drown it out at times but just gives me a headache so rarely use it now. Internet search reveals this is common for all of these. Not this specific brand or item necessarily so not a bad $20 spent but won’t use it much anymore

I was looking for an upgrade to my ancient wired setup that I had been using for 2 years for my pickup truck. After looking at a few choices and watching video reviews and reading user reviews here on best buy I made my decision to go with this Anker ROAV. I have to say I made the right choice. The BEST feature by far is the app for it which allows you to save your parking spot, select 3 radio presets and gives you current battery voltage. It does include 2 usb ports which auto detects the charging voltage for your specific phone. I highly recommend this and would not hesitate to buy another one.

Worked for a less than month; shorted out

I bought this on April 26th and today (May 20th) it shorted out. Worked great while it worked but plugged it in today and it blew the fuse on the cigarette lighter. Replaced the fuse, and the moment I plugged it in ... popped again. Tried a 3rd time and same thing. Definitely something shorted inside the unit. My cigarette lighter is always on so I didn't want to leave it plugged in when not in use and it is normally only plugged in for an hour at a time; longest commute time. So by no means was it abused or used other than intended.

My aux end broke off inside the port, leaving me unable to retrieve it and (more importantly) unable to stream my music. Aside of getting a new car radio, I decided to get the Anker and I'm so glad that I did. I can still stream my music, the sound is pretty darn good (once you find a decent station w/o much static) and the ease of the charging port keeps me charged up and rolling along, jamming to my music. Glad this works for me! SO GLAD!!!

This is great she it works right. Sometimes it doesn't want to connect via Bluetooth to my phone and the hands free phone is not very good; people can't hear me very well. It works like a speaker phone...if there is a lot of background noise on their end, it won't pick up your voice (yelling does NOT help). Otherwise, it charges very well and transmits my media through my car radio when it does connect to my phone. I have 3 others of different brands and my main issue was insufficient charging. This one is very good for charging.

I have an older car and the head unit doesn't support Bluetooth. Purchased the Anker Roav SmartCharge F2 and it works great. Simple to pair and use. Mostly used for music because my car's cigarette lighter socket is low and the mic doesn't pick up my voice well for hands free phone calls. Mic picks up voice commands for Android Auto perfectly fine though. Definitely recommend for anyone looking to add Bluetooth in car for streaming music.

I have been using this adapter for a few months and have been pretty happy with the purchase. Just plug it in and find a FM channel in your market with no station on it. Then pair your phone and play music directly though your car's speaker. The phone function is not great. A lot of dropped connection and hard time hearing and being heard. If you're looking for a way to play music off of your device through your car speakers then this is a great buy. Pass if you want it for the phone/voice functionality.

I tried it out but there was still more static than I expected and I had to turn up the volume considerably to hear what was coming through. I switched to a different frequency and it didn’t get any better. It does what it says it’s supposed to on the box and we did receive a phone call while listening, although it was hard to hear the other person. So had to take it off Bluetooth. My radio is a factory from Toyota and sounds good. This product just wasn’t for me.

I've had this transmitter for about a month and it works great. On occasion there will be some static, but it clears up quickly. It's also great while talking on the phone hands- free, but I believe it still uses the mic on your phone when you talk. I've had friends ask me when I got the bluetooth on my car and they can't believe how great this transmitter is when I show it to them. The USB ports for charging are great as well. Definitely would recommend this item.

My son introduced me to this wonderful piece of technology. Depending on my mood, I prefer to listen to one of my Spotify playlists. I was using an inexpensive Bluetooth speaker, but wasn't getting the sound quality I would have liked to. With this device, it connects my phone through Bluetooth to my car speakers and it sounds just like I'm listening to the radio. It also has 2 USB ports for charging.

This little do-hicky works great. I just plug it in and listen to my music thats stored in my fone plus i can charge my fone at the same time. When my fone rings i can answer it and hear the caller clearly thru my car speakers. But If somebody is in another vehicle within about 60 yards and has their radio on the same station iv programed this for they can hear my music.
