This is great for someone in an apartment who cant have pets. Slight issues with the Android app and only 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, but I'm still enjoying it.

Major advertised features, like, voice recognition failed! Vector works only in concise space like a table. When his battery is draining low, he search for the charger across the room until his batter dies. Mobile app will take few seconds to reconnect to Vector every time, even if it is minimized and open. I couldn't find Vector to be a fun companion due to his limitations. Hope Anki will come up with more intuitive robots in future.

I was leery of this purchase especially for the price tag. But it's actually quite amusing. I still think it's not quite worth the price but they are close. His actions are limited and the app is nearly pointless. He has very few commands. It's skills are extremely limited. I ran out of things to make it do in about 30 minutes. However what I enjoy about it now is letting it be autonomous and do what it wants to do. I have it at my work desk and it makes the day a little more fun. Where I really had fun was downloading the apk for it and you can program it to say and do different things. It requires a bit of coding skill but it's been fun messing with its programming.

We've had Cozmo (also by Anki) for a few years and really love it. The whole family enjoys it. When I saw Vector I had to get one. It looks really cool and sleek. Set up was a breeze, same as Cozmo. Facial expressions and the voice are great. It's fun to watch at first but gets boring after a bit. Basically he runs around whatever surface he is on, making noises and talking. It has a little personality that is also cute, but overall we found it's just not as interesting as Cozmo. Even with its connection to Alexa, there wasn't enough to justify spending that much on one. Two big disappointments were no ability to control him with an app remote like Cozmo (although you can control him with voice commands) and view live video of what it's seeing, and also it was hard for others to link it to the app on their own phones. For some reason, that wasn't an issue with Cozmo. Maybe there will be future updates that will make Vector worth it, but for now if you already have Cozmo I would recommend just sticking with that until Vector is upgraded. Unless of course you just like collecting robotics.
