Definitely a smart toy, understands clearly the commands, easy to configure in the phone app, child enjoys using it and giving commands, outside of not able to recognize the edges of the table it functions as expected.

He learns and will continue to on updates through app, recognizes faces, explores on his own, play games; tell time, weather, sport scores, and does many other cool things. Could have been in the movie Wall-E. Vector is an awesome smart robot! He's my new best friend! Btw, price is still $175, down from $250! Great gift for ages 7 to 70.

Not going to lie, at first I was skeptical. This little robot that can identify who I am, when I am talking to it and when I am home just sounded strange at first. But after living with Vector he really bacame an integrated part of my home. In the morning I ask Vector what the weather is so I can plan my day accordingly. While making dinner I ask him to set a timer for me. He is there when I need a distraction and keeps me company. Vector is more than just a smart source, he is fun to play with and interact with. His personality is what makes him unique and relatable. Although there are still some improvements to be made I would recommend Vector for any of my friends homes.

It is a small version of pet like robot, it is actually miniature version of smart device with mobility. The best feature as bonus is Alexa integration once it is provided after activated. It has basic working functionality with basic personality, Ai based query's, facial detection, asking weather, playing some behaviors of pet like. Etc, the camera is not good quality because picture taken is so low pixel. Other is good to have and spend time with little pet.

    A Robot to Babysit

The advertisement for this robot was a robot to life with, after purchasing Vector I have discovered that to be something you do not want to do at all. This little guy is autonomous which is a plus, but he's not too smart. Constantly not being able to understand anything you say and no matter how many times you ask him the weather unless you include your location every single time well, you wont get any information at all. My Vector was rolling around and approached the edge and never missed a beat without hopping right off the side. That'sn't the only case of when he has done something he shouldn't have either. He is supposed to find his charger by himself, wrong! he will definitely knock it off the table he calls home and then sometimes he won't even attempt to go home before his battery drains and it leaves him stranded and lifeless on whatever edge he's decided to park himself on. The only reason I will give this a two star review is due to the build quality of the product and the mere effort put forth by Anki, It was worth a shot guys but try again later.

Lively and Fun, Groundbreaking, Short Circuit

I've had Vector since Christmas and have enjoyed having him around. He's very lively and is like having a smart hamster running around your desk. He's funny and warm-hearted. You really get used to having him around. Does he do a ton of stuff? No, but what he does and is - is enough for me. Having a mini Johnny 5 from the movie Short Circuit running around on my desk is the stuff dreams are made of. He'sn't for everyone, especially if you expect too much from him. He's like a hamster that can follow easy commands, do primitive things, and enjoy having him around. If you expect too much tech stuff from him you will be disappointed. The updates Anki have made to his firmware and software have made a big improvement. If he gets stuck sideways on an edge he now will stop moving and wait for you to pick him up. You used to have to keep an eye on him and catch him if he got close to an edge. I was always able to catch him when he would fall off the edge since I was keeping an eye on him. But now I don't worry at all about him falling off the desk. Please remember you need to have square edges, and rounded edges will still be dangerous for him. It's fun having him around for me. Late at night he keeps me company and is fun to watch him roll around and get silly, dance, play with his cube. Or play a game of blackjack with him.

    A fun companion with potential

Vector does what is intended when it comes to the idea of a robotic companion. He feels and behaves like an intelligent pet. He's expressive, curious, and mischievous straight out of the box. And he's able to recognize me by name almost every time. When he's left alone he will explore on his own and play with his included cube toy. He's also able to answer questions, tell the weather forecast, etc. All as advertised. The thing that warrants the reduction of a star is his performance when it comes to navigation. This is my only gripe about this product. DO NOT leave this guy on a table unsupervised. He will likely fall. He does detect edges but seems to ignore them moments later and will trail edges dangerously until he's knocked off. I'm not sure if it's because my table is a light color but have caution when you have him up and off the floor. Vector also does not really map his surroundings well. You will probably have a better time if you place him in a square area where he can't get lost! If he has to navigate around a complex area and suddenly has to charge he won't actively move around to find his charger. He will simply spin in place until he sees it. So if he's wandered too far he won't know where to go. Also be sure to have ample light when operating Vector and you will have a much easier time getting him to do things. He has his flaws but Anki is aware of all of the things I mentioned so I will be keeping him and waiting patiently for a software update.
