Great movie for fans of sci-fi films that make you think and ponder. It looks great and it sounds second to none. Just a great way to spend a couple hours.

This is not a film for everyone. But if you like unusual and and original films, and aren't put off by the strange and the odd, you may like this film a lot. It certainly has the most "alien" alien I've seen in any movie to date! This is not some guy in a rubber suit, but something I've never seen before on film! I do recommend seeing it in 4K with HDR (the standard definition & standard dynamic range version looks dull and washed out by comparison, but the 4K HDR version does bring the visuals to life). In pacing, I'd compare this to "The Arrival". If you found that movie boring, you might not like this film. If you liked the arrival, you will probably take a liking to this one. Honestly, this movie has the weirdest alien ever! Kudos for coming up with a being (I don't even know if the word "creature" even applies) that is so utterly original.

Fantastic HDR! The sound and image quality on this 4K disc is amazing. Fantastic film as well. Great, original take on a sometimes tired genre.

A little strange, but that's what you're looking for in a movie like this. I wouldn't pay a whole lot for this, but in the remainder bin it's a bargain.

The Shimmer looks even creepier in this nice Dolby Vision version.

Not one of Portman's better films, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

It’s great to have such a great cast. It’s also great it’s mostly female. The story and feeling is great. The movie itself is awesome! A must watch

Annihilation was a visually impressive and tonally accurate adaptation of the novel by the same name. Having read the book last year, I was surprised to learn that it was be adapted to film. It seemed unfilmable. Events and circumstances are largely presented first-person through the thoughts of an unreliable narrator. This is not the recipe for typical Hollywood fare. However, the producers managed to restructure it with a streamlined linear plot that still captures the essence and themes of the book. The visual effects are stunning and, for the most part, manage to capture the imagery from the book. Some depictions differed from my own interpretation, but that's a quibble about artistic expression. It's not for anyone expecting a summer blockbuster, but I definitely recommend the movie to fans of literate science fiction.

This is a good sci-fi film with an interesting ending. I was hoping Natalie Portman and Jennifer Jason Leigh would have been better. It seemed like the entire cast was one-dimensional. The overall premise was good and the ending was a little mind-bending but not Interstellar mind-bending. In terms of the Dolby Vision presentation, it was excellent. I experienced no washed out blacks and no crushing. The climax in the lighthouse was intensely bright so much so I had to squint. The ending credit animation sequence was also stunning and colorful.

This movie has many layers and different outcomes depending on your mindset. Watch this one a few times and it’s a different movie each time.

Some have not liked it, but I really enjoyed this movie. The ending is open to interpretation, but wasn't horrible. Great audio and sound in 4k.

I realize that this movie didn't do well at the box office, but this one is worth watching. The quality on 4K is awesome with the clear images.
