I am receiving 13 channels with it inside my room. Soon to place in attic to see if able to pick up more channels. They are crisp clear viewing channels.

I bought this when I cut the cord. It is a breeze to put together, and I installed in my attic. The antenna picks up all of the local signals very easily, and the HD quality on most channels is actually better than some of the cable programming I had. I am sure that if I installed outdoors I may pick up more channels, but if you're in an environment that doesn't allow outdoor antennas, but you have an attic, definitely get this. If you need more range, pick up the dual.

Been through our share of indoor antennas, then realized the problem was our metal roof. Found this one in-store. Installed in a short time, beautiful pictures! an array of channels and no more adjustments necessary!

This antenna was very easy to install and we were able to hook up all our tv's to the antenna very easily as long as they are newer HD tv's. One of our tv's actually gives a short description of each show. It has more than paid for itself in one month (savings from cancelling our cable tv subscription)

I replaced a co-joined pair of jury-rigged powered rabbit ears because I was tired of fiddling with different directions of incoming signals. An omni-directional with 50 mile range, this antenna is more than enough to pull in all major and many minor stations and substations. Reception is very clear in the claimed range. So far, it is stable in summer rainstorms, but I'll have to wait and see how it does in northern winters. Easy to assemble, must be hung or mounted, performs best outdoors, but doesn't need to be roof high--at least in my location. I am very satisfied with my purchase, which I got for an open-box $40 discount. All parts were there, and and the item was as good as new. Note that I have never been a cable TV customer, so I am used to getting only OTA channels. This antenna performs better than any $40 powered rabbit ears I've had before and it was well worth spending a little more to upgrade. I am especially pleased at the excellent reception without having to mount it on the roof.

Assembly and install were straight forward. It's all about the location of the antenna and positioning to the transmitters. Crystal clear free HD!

was super easy to install. I was able to get it done in about 10 min. I found a few new over the air stations. It is not perfect. I get ABC better than CBS. NBC has a slight delay but tolerable. I even get some random HD radio stations coming in. Nice way to get tv like we use to - and not pay for it.

This is my second successful installation of an Antennas Direct antenna. The first was a 4 lobe version, the 4V. We live in a small town with a ski hill that blocks the signal from the NBC affiliate's alternate tower locally. The ABC, CBS and FOX affiliates main towers are in our town and are positioned so the ski hill does not block the signal. The NBC affliate is located in a town about 70 miles north. So being under the ski hill we had to shoot for the main tower 70 miles away. The 4V did the job. For years in the cabin at the lake 100 miles from home, we were never able to get the ABC alternate tower. The main stations are the same as the ones at home but hey have alternate towers about 60 miles away from the cabin. I got on the AD website and it said both the 2V and 4V would work. I waited for a sale on the 2V and tried it out. Aiming with a compass is important. The ABC alternate tower was at 111 and that same main NBC tower mentioned above was 118 degrees. So I killed two birds with one stone. No other antennas work as well as these do. Cut to the chase, just buy AD antennas. Note that in both cases the buildings are high, My home garage is two stories high with a storage attic. The cabin is two stories too and both are indoor mounts. For indoor attic mounts I suggest using a 4 foot 1 inch diameter dowel mounted in two "U" shaped rake holders normally used for mounting rakes and shovels vertically to garage walls. Strap the antenna's clamp bolt that comes with it to the dowel instead of the metal pole in the kit. That set up makes rotation while aiming really easy. Once aimed just leave it in the rake holders and you're done.

    Long range HDTV antenna review

We purchased the antenna planning on disconnecting from cable, so we bought the larger, more expensive model. We live across the road from a large military installation which apparently blocks signals from the local television stations, as no signal was detected despite moving the antenna to the highest point of our 2 story house. I called the 800 number listed for troubleshooting and spoke with a very helpful operator, who told me exactly which compass direction to point the antenna based on our zip code, this was done as instructed with a compass. I still did not pick up any useable signals. I took the antenna to work and connected it to a television there that had the least expensive HDTV antenna hooked to it. The cheap antenna worked, most of the time. It experienced frequent blue screens, particularly during bad weather. The long range antenna worked fine, bringing in several stations we hadn't previously had access to. The picture is great, and there are very few "blue screen" outages. It's definitely worth spending a few more dollars to get the extra channels and more reliable reception. The proximity to the military base is only my theory as to why it didn't work at home.

I am a DirecTV customer and they recently had a contract dispute with my local NBC and CBS affiliates. I live in an area that is about 45 miles from the broadcasters, after researching for an antenna that would enable me to watch my favorite shows on the networks I purchased this one. I get 20 channels for free over the airwaves and the picture quality is better than on DirecTV. I may just cancel my $150 per month bill and go cordless.

I bought 3 different styles of antennas and this one worked the best and got the most channels. The signal can fluctuate and depending on how far you are from the towers will effect the strength. But in testing 3 different versions, this style worked best for me. I use it indoors and may try to mount it outside this summer to see if that improves my reception.

It is very scary when you get in to the market for buying a TV antenna. There are a lot of choices and even more contradicting reviews about each one. But this one is really is a top performer among the rest. The assembly took 15 minutes. I installed it in the attic, never actually fixed it to a pole but have kept it on the floor of the attic with some weight on its face plate. It's has no issues picking up 60+ channels in the dfw area. I live 50 miles away from the broadcast station. The video clarity cannot get any better!

I bought this because my old antenna couldn't get a signal on a local HD channel that broadcasts on the VHF band. The Clearstream 2V comes with a VHF dipole, which is the horizontal crossbar across the top of the reflector grid. Also, my old antenna had a 40-mile range, and I was hoping that the 60-mile range of this model would improve reception on the UHF channels as well. I rated this four stars because it mostly worked out. The VHF antenna did indeed pull in my 'missing' channel. However, the signal strength on the UHF channels was no better than what I got from my older, less powerful antenna. I still have problems with digital breakup when there is even minor rain -- no worse than the old antenna, but no better, and the 2V cost twice as much as the old one. With all that said -- the Clearstream 2V is well-made, and the instructions were brief but useful. It was easy to assemble and mount, and it did solve my VHF problem. If you live in an area that has HD channels in the VHF band, I'd recommend the 2V. If all of your channels are in the UHF band, there are cheaper antennas that will work just as well.

I ditched cable and got a standard indoor hdtv antenna. Living in a rural area, it only picked up a few channels clearly. Got the long-range indoor/outdoor antenna, what a difference! I get channels I didn't even knew existed! I would of given it a 5, but the assembly directions (and lack of pictures to go with them) were pretty poor.

We decided to discontinue our cable services and love that we could attach this antena outside and use our existing cable wiring to attach our tv's to it. Very easy to set up and we can pick up 28 channels. This investment has paid for it self in the last 2 months. Great if you are trying to save money and running on a budget. We have the Roku now too.

We bought this antenna for a friend who did not have any cable in his home and could not afford it on a monthly basis. Of course we could not pay for his service on an ongoing basis but when we heard about the antenna and that he was able to watch most of the regular network programming for the price of the antenna we said we had to purchase it. He was absolutely thrilled!!!! Now he can watch his programs at night and feels like he has all the modern comforts - just without the monthly bill!!!!
