I had purchased the smaller version of this to test what I would be able to receive and it performed quite well. After UVerse decided they needed to jack up our rates...again, that was it, it was time to cut cable! I knew even at about 6 feet high, the smaller version of this antenna was picking up many channels so I decided to get this because of the larger size (better reception) and the mount (what can I say, I was done and didn't want to buy a separate mount). Assembly wasn't too bad, instructions honestly could have been better, but you can get the jist of it. I installed this in the attic and sort of kind of aimed it (read "yeah, it's in that direction I think") and was picking up 24 channels with 70% signal strength (you lose about 20% because of the roof). Now, cable is cut, the bill is gone and we don't miss it one bit! The picture quality blows away cable, you should see hockey via OTA, it's amazing! Go Preds! I ran cables to each of our 3 TVs and used a ChannelMaster cable amp/splitter mounted in the attic next to the antenna, which I also recommend. We decided to "cut the cord" and get only OTA TV. We live in a known "black hole" area, and according to some OTA info sites (like TVfool.com), we knew we'd have trouble getting good antenna transmission where we live. We could not mount on the roof and we were limited to indoors or in the attic, so we purchased the best possible indoor-use antenna we could find (with UHF + VHF)...we live about 45+ miles from Chicago and about 50+ miles from Milwaukee. We get good transmission in the evenings and a ton of channels. During the day in the summer, we've had far less channels, but we heard it could improve in the fall when the angle of the sun changes. Anyway, it's a good antenna, though we might try an amplifier on it to see if we get better reception. You'd like to think with the cost, it would come assembled, but it doesn't, and it took every ounce of my very limited engineering abilities to understand the instructions and put it together! But once we got it assembled, it works well.

Took about 25 minutes to put together, run cable and raise the antenna. One minute later, we have 45 free channels. Called my satellite dish company and told them I no longer needed to send them $75 a month. Fantastic reception and we receive everything we ever wanted except history channel. Well, we can always see that online. Spent $300 more and built/installed an 8 Gig DVR with access to Hulu, Netflix and more. I am so done with Cable and Satellite providers. Bye Bye Direct TV - your days of overcharging are over. No more "Dishappointment" when I get another rate change and no cable charges. FREE TV! If I have to watch commercials, then I am not going to pay to watch the show. This antenna picks up channels from up to 90 miles away with no problems!

Relatively small high performance digital antenna, easy to install. the included mounting foot works on flat roofs or mounting at the peak. If you want to eave mount this unit you will need a longer mount. Small profile means little wind resistance so it does not shake in the wind or get pushed out of alignment if properly secured. Because it is small it has limited gain--distance from stations will be a factor in consistent performance. Mounting as high as practical and adding an in-line signal booster will help, as will keeping the cable runs as short as possible. If you want to split to two or more TV's a signal amplifier is really needed for best results. Still this is by far the best small antenna that I know of.

With Cable TV rates going up so drastically, and without receiving better service, we wanted to ditch it, and try over-the-air. We are at about the outer limit of what this antenna says it will receive, so we were skeptical. But, when we tested it, we got about 20-25 channels, including a few PBS channels, and had a great picture. Very clear. Next test was to see if we'd still have a good picture if the antenna was placed in the attic. Still just as crisp. Next step, complete installation and start saving those dollars we were feeding the Cable company for dozens of un-watched channels.

Pulls in over 44 channels consistently with no issues.. including HD channels as well. Cut off my comcast service for this and netflix and never looked back since. Go to TVFool or grab a android app called "Tv Antenna Helper" and it will show you your location on Google Maps and show you where your broadcasting signals are the strongest so you know exactly how to position this thing. Less than 45 degree increments in turns made a 13 channel to 44 channel difference with my testing. Mine is also about 20ft in the air so the higher than better (20-30ft recommended for this antenna)

I read a good amount of reviews on this antenna and I was skeptical to purchase it. I think I went to look at it about 20 times before I went in and saw it "open box". I decided to take the plunge I thought I may 20-25 channels. I installed it in my attic and used my existing cables for the house. It worked really well not only do I get 66 channels yes you heard that right 66 channels and on top of that I chase tv in every room of the house and people can watch different channels. I would say about half of the channels look as good if not better as HD cable. I know the results will be mixed depending on where you live but it is well worth the try I if you our thinking of cutting the cord on cable. Im currently saving roughly 160 a month.

I installed this antenna in my attic without any help and it works great! The antenna comes with everything you need except a coax cable that is run from the antenna to your TV, plus a few common household tools. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. We are about 50 miles from a major city and get over 40 channels with this antenna set up in our attic. We have now cancelled our cable TV subscription, saving nearly $100 per month.

I used the antenna mounted in my attic to receive over 40 stations. Along with a splitter I was able to feed 3 TVs simultaneously. I am over 30 miles from the closest TV tower and the reception is clear. I am able to get all the networks over the air. I was able to drop DirecTV service by using this antenna along with Sling TV for ESPN access. I lowered my monthly TV service bill by over $80. Quick payback on this investment.

Here in Fond du lac we are about 72/73 miles from both Milwaukee and Green bay. With the one antenna I have already (Clear stream 4V) I receive all the channels from Green bay that come in very clear, but at night when there signal goes weak I lose 4 of them, That is very good in my opinion. I plan on purchasing the 8E unit to get all of Milwaukee next and will post how that turns out. but as it stands right now, cable was $150 a month now its $0 so in 2 months this whole system I am putting together will have paided for itself (adding a pre amp also)

I use this in Brick NJ. I went to the web site provided and aimed the antenna in the direction recommended. I pick up 20 channels including CBS, NBC, FOX, WOR, and others. (I cannot pick up ABC.). I had to try several times to get the direction right but in the end it worked great. I placed in my attic facing NYC. It does not need to be outdoors or next to a window.

I got this on sale for about $80. I've always used indoor antennas and they worked fine until I moved to a small town, where the nearest city with TV stations is 45+ miles in different directions. I put it in my attic near a window facing north, and got about 18 channels (had 6 with indoor antenna ). Wouldn't really pick up the channels to the east. After a few weeks I wanted to watch a bears game, and cbs never came in. So I moved my antenna to the middle of the attic and faced it east and to my surprise I got all the same channels from the city to the north aND many more from the east. Total was about 38 but many pbs duplicates. I never would have thought I'd be happy spending this kind of money but it's been great. Not having to move the antenna around every time I change the channel is also great! Overall very happy.

I am approximately 30 miles from the major transmission towers in Houston, TX. I mounted the antenna in the attic. When doing the scan on the television, it found all of the major national network stations plus many, many more that I will never likely watch. It also picked up the two station in Houston that are still VHF. This antenna is probably an overkill for my particular location. However, it insures you will have a strong signal all of the time.

I purchased an amplified antenna from an online dealer. It was supposed to be a revolutionary new design that could get signals from every direction from 100 miles away. I got 5 channels. I was disappointed. I took it down and bought this one from Best buy. This is an un-amplified antenna. I put it in the same place as the other one. With this antenna I received 21 channels. It's by far superior to that other one. I am very happy with the Clearstream 4V.

We tried less powerful receivers but couldn't get a decent signal. When we installed this on our roof, the broadcast signal came in loud and clear. Everything we needed was in the box and we installed it with only a minimal amount of confusion on our part. It did require several trips onto the roof to tweak the antenna direction, otherwise we were completely satisfied.

It was VERY easy to assemble by just following the simple instructions. I mounted it to a PVC pole I made for inside the house and the picture is as good or even way better than satellite. Very clear and sharp picture and most importantly FREE over the airwaves. Very well made and very sturdy. By mounting inside the house away from the elements it should last a lifetime! I am very happy with this antenna!!

I don't watch a lot of television other than sports so I can't justify paying for a cable package. Picked this up over the holidays and even with this sitting inside the house before mounting it on the roof, I have about 90 OTA channels in the Bay Area. Installation was pretty straight-forward; with the exception of the combiner bar which takes a bit more force to snap into place - if the last part seems unclear would recommend to hit up YouTube for some videos as the printed instructions aren't super clear there. Football looks fabulous on this and has been well worth the cost so far.

I have a single story home and put this antenna in my attic. Was concerned that I might not pick up many stations since I am 50 miles away from the city where most of the signals originate. However I was pleased to receive all of the major network signals in HD and receive many independent channels as well. I added an RCA signal booster. Assembly required.

Got channels immediately in living room...put it outside near rroof and got clearer image and more channels....all free. Very pleased. ABC,Fox.CBS,NBC,PBS,various other channels with religion, infomercials, old movies, etc. It's not same as Cable, you don'get msnbc, CNN, espn, etc but thats ok it's what i expected. I assembled it easily. It's not heavy. Approximately 25 channels. In southern Nevada.

Decided to cut the cord. Purched the 4V. Great price 79.99 and sling tv offered a $50 rebate to purched 3 months service $60. This attenna pick up about 60 channels. About 12 are Spanish and 2,4,5,7,9 and 11 look great in HD. The others look good too. I live about 50 miles from NY. Check the products web page to see what channels you can get in your area.
