So thin its fragile
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The monitor itself performs as expected. I was expecting a 1800r curve. I believe this is the 3000r model which is barely curved at all. The case feels stout, but considering it has lines fresh out of the box I am going to assume not stout enough. For the money It the best deal out there for a monitor of this size that is curved. I received it with a 2 lines in the left side. The box had a minor ding in it. Not enough for me to believe the item would be defective but however it was. I am not sure if they will allow return or not. I would prefer to exchange, It was ship to store,a nd the best Buy i picked it up at was less than courteous, so I am concerned as to how this will play out. I would recommend to a friend with caution due to how thin it is. Thinner is not always better

Red Blur Issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture on lighter scenes was great but in the darker scenes I had issues with red blurs - primarily on skin tones. I tried different cables on both the HDMI and DisplayPort connections with no improvement. Also tried different calibration with the same results. Instead of taking a chance of replacement with the same issues I returned the monitor. Too bad because the picture was great in most uses but not all.

LOVE IT!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Playing BF1 in 4K is just awesome. Have noticed a little red tearing as some have said. Wondering if it is just a setting in the monitor that needs to be adjusted...

Remarkable Value, Hard to fault
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I struggled between purchasing an Ultrawide or a Large 4k monitor as I recreate my office. I was lucky to find a 34" Dell Ultrawide on Craigslist at a good deal but after bringing it home, felt myself wanting more. I am not a fan of the 21:9 as much as the traditional 16:9 aspect ratio. An ultrawide offers great productivity potential for those wanting a smaller footprint but for me, this was not the case. I had been eyeing this AOC monitor since the holidays and while the price fluctuated often below its normal retail, I was skeptical of the off-brand name and the few reviews I saw online. When this went on sale for $500 though, after realizing the 34" ultrawide wasnt all I had expected, I gave into the urge to try this monitor and im very glad I did. My purpose for this monitor is for general productivity and leisure so It wasnt imperative this was the best screen on the market or even top 3 in the segment ..but I still am a discerning buyer that wants to like what I see when I stare into a 40 inch monitor and I cant say this is anything but a joy to view. The built in speakers are just ok and the stand, while nice looking, isnt as ergonomic as the Dell Ultrawides but that may be due to the increased size. A minor gripe for me was that no setup or software was included so to enable the myriad different split screen setups I had to visit the AOC website. This monitor has not exactly followed the program app to rearrange e very window but that has been a small and intermittent issue. All in all, grab it if you were on the fence especially at $500.

Forty Inches of Curved 4K Monitor Heaven
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent Monitor that delivers crisp clear images with bright highlights and deep blacks. The slightly curved screen reduces eye fatigue caused by the need for constant eye focusing when looking back and forth to the edges of the large screen, a curved screen maintains an evener eye distance when scanning from edge to edge. I use mine for Gaming, CAD, DAW, and Video Editing, the ability to fit more information on one screen is a time saver when running these apps.

Very nice 4K monitor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am overall happy with the C4008VU8. The picture is sharp, as I would expect. The display has good color and brightness, though I haven't put a color tester on it. The color does fade off-angle, but that's not important for my use. I don't game, so can't comment on how it performs for high speed motion. The adjustment controls I found easy enough to use. The little joystick works well. I like the presence of the USB hub built in. The built-in stand looks spindly but is up to the task. I find this is a good balance of display size and resolution. I run Ubuntu Linux and I didn't need to fiddle with rendering to make things readable. A 28" 4K monitor made things too small and I never really got everything to resize appropriately. Now the downsides. The only real downside for me is the stand. The stand only supports tilt, not vertical adjustment. The stand places the bottom of the monitor 4 inches above the desk. I'd be happier if I could drop it a couple inches. Unfortunately, the shaft of the stand is permanently attached to the monitor. The monitor does have VESA screw holes, but that doesn't solve the problem. Removing the base of the stand only nets 1/2 inch of clearance. I'd much prefer to bring it down 3 inches or so. If I was willing to void the warranty, I could force off the plastic cover over the shaft attachment (likely breaking it) and then unscrew the shaft. Lastly, my first monitor developed a vertical blue stripe after a month. Fortunately Best Buy had extended the holiday exchange period so I will be getting a replacement. Thank you, Best Buy!

Not that good

Sleek looking, good image but VERY reflective
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The reflective nature of this screen did not work for my office environment. I bought 2 and one works fine at home were the lights can be controlled more. The other I ended up giving to a co-worker to use. Also quality could be an issue. I had to return 2 that were turning off as I used them.
