Many appreciate its surge protection and the reasonable price point, along with its compact size and sufficient number of outlets. While some find the unit heavy and others miss the availability of software for certain operating systems, the positive feedback on performance outweighs these concerns. Battery backup protects my Internet

The other day my Internet went down while we were away and I couldn't access my home security system from my Cellphone. When I arrived at home, I found that the battery backup I use to keep my cable modem, wi-fi and security system hardware running during a power outage failed after less than 3 years. Even though that unit was still in warranty, I couldn't find the documentation to verify proof of purchase. I decided to spend a bit more and purchase an APC replacement supply instead of the brand I purchased originally. The APC unit happened to be on sale, so it was only $10 more than an exact replacement, and it is providing me with 25% greater capacity. I've only had it a week now, but it's operating fine. The only issue I have with these supplies is that most of the equipment I need to plug in have oversize power supply boxes making it impossible to use every outlet. Fortunately, I was able to plug in my two wifi routers and cable modem without resorting to a secondary outlet strip, but I lost the use of one of the protected outlets. The security monitor that I would like to have available in case of an outage is plugged into the unprotected side. If the monitor goes down, I can still operate the system via my cell phone app, so the system is still operational. Not ideal, but I preferred that solution to the hassle of adding a second power strip.. I only gave the unit 4 stars because they had the room on the exterior to spread the outlets widely, but chose to group three outlets together and set only one to the side. Had they divided the outlet space equally across the front of the device and relocated the power switch, I might have been able to use all four protected outlets.

The TV is beyond compare. It has the best picture and all the features make it a joy to use. The Geek Squad team that did the install were very professional and helpful.

Just bought my second and third one of these. The first one backs up a desktop computer and monitor and easily runs it for 15 minutes after a power outage. The new ones are to power my cable box (Comcast) because even the briefest flicker of power and the box goes through the whole five minutes restart procedure. The other one is just for the modem/router/VOIP/NAT devices. We don't lose power very often or for very long periods of time but keeping all those devices from resetting and rebooting is worth the price of these inexpensive UPS devices (paid $45 each). Batteries are easily replaceable and about $17 each for the generic brand.

APC - Back-UPS 600VA UPS perfect for home use

When my previous UPS rig died, I found the APC - Back-UPS 600VA UPS at Best Buy at a good price. It is perfect for my home office, It supports my iMac computer, a U-Verse Gateway, a Brother printer and an HP PC and printer. The set up is trivially easy. There are sockets that provide UPS power in the event of a power failure. Other sockets are merely protected against spikes in current. Together they provide all I need in my home office.

I bought 3 of these to replace older APC UPS units, which I use with home theater system, TVs, and PCs. Because the old ones performed well for several years, I had no qualms about buying APC again. What sold me on replacing all 3 at one time was they are a upgraded model and, even better, were on sale for a price similar to having simply bought replacement batteries. If these serve as well as the old ones, I'll look to APC again.

This is my second APC Back UPS. First one is so reliable, I got another for my Satellite and Internet modem. Gives about 30 minutes of power depending upon load. Prevents electronics from flickering on & off during storms. Plenty of time to shut down electronic equipment properly. Easy to replace the battery

This is the 4th unit like this and they all preform as advertised. It will depend on how much load you apply as to how long it will keep working. I have some with a light load and it far exceeds the time advertised and I have one with a heavy load (2 computers etc) and it does not last nearly as long. But these are a must have item.

I have only had it 2 day but I can see that it is going to fit my needs. Keeping it clean is going to be easy smooth doors not ripple like my last one. I looked all around at other stores and no one could beat this Amano for price and size. You scored big as you did on the other things I have gotten from Best Buy. Thank You

APC BackUPS 600VA is excellent for battery back on essential home equipment (i.e. oxygen equipment, computers/servers, clocks/timers). We live in a high lightening strike area. This product has saved several items in our home from loosing power and possibly surges in power that would ruin them.

I have used APC battery backup units for over 20 years. This particular unit does what it is supposed to - keep electronic items going when the power dips or goes out. This unit has our phone answering machine, a 17" HP multimedia laptop and a halogen lamp connected to it. When we have had power outages, even very short ones, everything connected to it stays on. That is especially good for the answering machine which is a pain in the butt to reset! Also, as soon as I plugged the unit into the wall socket, the faulty wiring light came on. Our apartment was put together years ago using the "corner cutting - money saving" method, so our landlady has been informed of what needs to be done to get this place up to required local specs. Thank you APC! I have never had any problems with APC battery backup units and this one is no exception. Having replaceable batteries is also a key feature of these units as batteries do wear out over time. APC replacement batteries are easy to find - another plus.

Good for the price, reliable, shows wiring faults, very good for home offices and small businesses. I chose APC because you get what you are paying for. I live in the Lightning Capitol of the World, and my equipment is used to make my living, so no chances. Tip: Look for a sale.

Great quality! Great price ! I bought this to replace my 12+ year old APC. Functions properly / power went out once since I had this unit, and it worked perfectly , beeps (warning) and had more than enough time to power down computer. Just remember, these are not made to power your computer in case of a power outage sor you to just keep working on your computer for hours, they are made to give you time to properly save your work and power off your computer.

I like the fact that this is small enough I can keep it on my desk next to the monitor. If I do have a surge spike, I can reset the button easily without having to get down on my hands and knees on the floor as I had to with the previous one I ha.

The unit connected without a hitch. The software is easy to setup and monitor. Reliable performance is what I look for in a UPS & this model has both. Had this out of the box and set up in under ten minutes.

    TL;DR Needs More Space

I bought this backup over the CyberPower because I've never had issues with APC and I know they have a good track record. However... Upon bringing it home I realized I needed more space. The items which needed battery backup had too large of plugs. This allowed me to only plug in 3 items on one side. I had to resort to plugging items into a separate power strip then into the battery backup. Beside the space issue, I have had no complaints. Install was easy and it fit into the space I had.

APC protects my electronics at a great price!

Got a great deal on this backup power supply on sale for $50 instead of $75. Have used APC products for decades and trust the quality, features and price. Protecting my electronics from power surges, short (30 min or less) power outages and lightning strikes. Have one APC unit protecting my cable modem, wireless router, printer, fax and backup drive. Have a second APC unit protecting my DVR/Comcast cable box, main TV and sound bar. Caveats: 1) In your planning, remember that all 8 outlets on this APC unit offer surge protection but only 4 of the 8 outlets are providing battery backup. So prioritize what devices you want to stay working if the main power goes out for a short time. 2) If your device has a normal power cord it will plug in just fine to the APC unit, But the outlets on the APC unit are close together. So if your device has a power block or brick with prongs coming out, it will plug in to the APC unit but it will block the adjacent outlet and reduce the number of usable outlets. The solution is to purchase 3-prong extension cords which are 12 inches or less in total length. They plug into the APC unit and then into your device's power block. Electricians/wiring contractors sometimes refer to them as "pigtails". You can easily find them in the aisle where they sell typical extension cords at a variety of home products, hardware or department stores for only a few dollars each. It is not a high priced item. If the price is high then look somewhere else and you will find them cheaper.

APC Backups are dependable and live up to expectations. The BN600G performs as it should. It kept my computer running when the electricity was off. This is my fifth APC Backup.

    Great UPS for Home Office

I purchased this UPS for my home office server and so far everything is perfect. I unpacked, plugged into the wall and plugged the server into the UPS and all was set. I connected the USB cable and then downloaded the powerchute software and it detected the USB immediately and gave me a few settings to choose from. One note, this device is only compatible with Powerchute personal version and the only main choice you have is whether to all the computer to continue to run until there is five minutes left in the USP or shut it down five minutes after the power goes out. Either setting should be fine for a small office.
