I lost a few hours of work which prompted me to purchase this UPS. I already had two of these on DVR's and they have worked well which is why I stayed with APC. The fact that this unit was on sale when I needed it only made things better. I can't speak to the circuit protection feature since I've not had a surge (yet).

It replaced an older 600va ups that was failing - must have taken too many hits from Hawaiian electric! The number of sockets is good with good spacing to allow use of wall wart plugs from various devices also. This is a weakness of many other UPS's since wall warts can cover two or more sockets if they aren't spaced right.
