    My first APC Back-UPS finally gave up after 10+ years. So, needed to replace it, before my PC is impacted by an electrical spike / outage. Best Buy had the best price on the unit I wanted (600VA UPS). The new models come with the PowerChute software that allows you to adjust settings and monitor usage. Best price / Best UPS and a very happy customer

    I've owned several of these units and they function well in power outages, which being on FPL's system here in Florida we experience frequently. The thing to remember is to balance your load demands to the output of the UPS unit you are buying to get the residual power you need to be able to both keep operating in a power failure and to shut down your systems in a manageable manner. I have this unit running my flatscreen tv and stereo equipment both of which have nominal power needs.

    Thankfully I haven't need this product to defend me from an unexpected surge. But it seems to be more than capable of doing so. It's heavy. And slightly bigger than I expected. And it's that size that kept me from giving it a fifth star. I had limited space behind/underneath my entertainment console and this required me to move the whole thing out another two inches just so it would fit.

    I always look and wait for the APC UPS models to go on sale when I need to replace or add to my home. I wanted to upgrade an older UPS that had a battery expire so went with this model for my primary PC. Installation is always easy and I trust APC. Reliable and trustworthy.
