Only had these (bought two) for 24 hours, so I can't comment on longevity or performance. I can only say at this point that they appear to be well-made, and are acting as they should. I've tested them with electrical appliances, and they do what they're supposed to. I had one issue, and contacted Customer Tech Support, Jeremy from the Philippines was easy to understand and very helpful. One of my units acted perfectly, steady green light under AC power. But the other one was green for two seconds, then two flashes etc etc. The guide says that means the unit is supplying battery power to the outlets, the way it would act if the power went out. Yet it was plugged into an outlet. First thing Jeremy suggested was try another outlet. Duh...the ground fault on the original outlet was tripped, and the outlet was dead. As soon as I moved the unit and plugged it in, BINGO. Forehead slap. Now...as far as complaints about the battery being non-replaceable. There's a guy on YouTube who takes out the four assembly screws on the bottom, and removes a perfectly replaceable 12V, 4.5AH battery. Easily. Yes, you void the warranty, but after two years or so, I'm no longer going to worry about that. Shipping cost to return for service will cost more than the battery. So if this thing lasts a while, I don't see a problem. I paid $24.99 each for these. I think they're a steal at that price.

The first time I plugged this to verify it was working fine I had no problems. The second time I use it with my laptop and mobile only for ~4-5hrs straight and some smoke come out and then it doesn't work any more.

Well I have had it for less than 30 days and the battery side has just failed. No beep no warning just instant power shut off. The non battery side still works but not the battery backed up side. Not a good sign.

Not worth anything. It doesn't work at all. Useless. It doesn't hold any power to even support the Wi-fi router.

Started misbehaving within 1st year & eventually after many sporadic reboots completely failed after less than 3 years of use. Will not buy again.

Light indicators are confusing and you can’t tell if you are protected. The box claimed I had no ground established in my house. The battery never worked. Don’t waste your time.

If your power goes out it just beeps. loudly!!!!!!!!!

Easy hookup and reliable. Fairly inexpensive and it protects my computer equipment

We have had only a couple of opportunities to use it, but when the lights went out, it was very reassuring to have a working lamp and a way to charge our phones.

Bought this UPS to replace a malfunctioning one by a different manufacturer. Like the small size and ability to hang on wall. This will provide power to our gateway and one switch. I have purchased over 12 APC UPSes over the years, and have also used other manufacturers. Have always come back to APC. Kicking this one star since this unit does not have a user replaceable battery and there is no mention of this on the Best Buy website, in the information from APC listed on the website, or on the box. It is not until you buy it and get it home and read the manual that you find this out. This is a new version and the older version has a user replaceable battery. Generally, I have had to replace batteries every 3-4 years, so with this unit it is throw it out and buy another one. Usual battery replacement cost is $25, and a new unit is $50 so that is a bummer. If this does not bother you, then it is a good product. I am considering returning it and buying something else.

I work from home as an IT professional; wish I had 3 of these a while back during a recent windstorm outage, one for my work PC, router/modem, and switch. I would have had a bit of time to save my work and also the fam could have stayed on the Internet with our wireless battery devices for who knows how long. Easy to set up, has a replaceable battery, and comes with a QC/inspection verification receipt. FYI: 180 joules isn't even close to protecting from a lighting surge BUT it is for other things like possibly an electric company or transformer outage. To truly protect your home from lightning strikes (unless it directly/indirectly hits your home) you'll need something in tandem with this, such as "whole-home protection" tied into your circuit breaker and/or lightning rods, etc.

I have purchased two other of these APC units in the past and they do a marvelous job allowing you a good deal of time to finish and save your work in a blackout. I had one unit battery die on me after two years (battery life is not forever)and the Tech folks quickly issue me an RMA to get a,replacement unit. It arrived in two days and they pay for the returned defective unit. With a 3 year warranty on most of there UPS units you cant go wrong. Im going to Purchase another unit for my son's PC and monitor and printer. I highly recommend this unit.

This product works very well. I was surprised at the number of surges this unit has detected since I connected my computer to it. Had APC UPS for years, love the brand, trust the product. definitely worth the $$, especially with deal of the day price.

Gear power surge protector with battery. Still works perfectly 3 years later.

Have owned several different brands of backup batteries and APC has always been the best and most reliable, at a good price and with a small footprint

This battery has worked out great. We are using it with our modem, router and dvr.

Short story: buy the 650. It has a replaceable battery. This one doesn't. Long story:This will run for 2 years, then the battery will wear out. The light will alternate red and green and the beeping won't stop until you turn it off. You can't power your devices when the battery is dead, even if it's plugged in, so it's a paperweight. Then you will discover the problem. The device is not made to be user-serviceable. You can't replace the battery. You can't throw it away, because it's illegal to dispose of a lead-acid battery in the trash. Places that take lead-acid batteries won't take the whole thing. You have to take the battery out yourself. Hope you have the tools. Don't just throw it away. The lead really does get into the water table.
