I live in an area where the power goes down several times per week. The APC Back-UPS 450 handles these outages with ease and I've yet to lose any data. We also get power surges when the power goes back on and the system prevents the surge from knocking our my computer equipment. This is the second one I've had in six years and I've zero complaints.

This is a very simple low profile battery backup that does what it suppose to do. Not huge like some others. I only use my modem and router for the kids to keep internet during power outage. So far I was able to get an hour of usage without electricity, The power came back on before the battery went out. Good unit for my needs.

I Purchased This Outlet Battery Back-Up And Surge Protector To Provide Additional And Protected Outlets For My Home Computer System And It Associated Appliances. This Purchase Option Provides Me With A Safer Option To Power Up Everything But In A Much Safer Manner Than Using Extension Cords.

Bought it for my big screen tv, Play station, Blue-ray and cable box. Works great when the power flickers, no interruptions.

When you’re in Florida, you have to have protection against electrical storms and this battery/backup does the trick. It has a seperate breaker so when the unit is tripped all you have to do is press the reset button. Choose the size that best meets your needs. I run a monitor, cooling fan, and laptop on this unit. Works well. However, unlike some UPS which have outlets in two rows, this UPS only has the outlets in one row. This means that if your plugs have bricks you cannot use very many of the outlets.

I've had this for several years, now, and it has come into service on two occasions during that time. When the power in the house went off, this backup came online quickly enough that my computer, my modem/router, and my printer didn't even flinch. I will probably buy another one in the near future for another room in my house.

The unit is fairly compact and I use it for my router and cable modem. It provides steady power and I do not have to worry about an electric spike taking out my equipment. During the hurricane when we lost power it gave me time to shut everything down properly. It was the right size and price for such a small energy load I have using it. I also use it for charging my phone.

FIOS customer with new gigabit capable ONT running at 50/50. New ONT no longer has an internal replaceable battery back up. Purchased this to power the ONT, wifi router and VOIP box in the event of a storm. First real storm with outpower going on now. Unit lasted 90 min before dying. I've had the device for 15 months. Not too bad! Was hoping for better but 90 min was good. Switch over was seamless as devices remained powered on. My area is prone to lightning strikes and I haven't had any equipment issues with the devices connected to this unit.

Bought this UPS to install in my closet that houses my cable DVR, modem, switch, magicjack, network storage and etc. I needed a reliable backup power source to keep my equipment running during power outages. I have always used APC backup devices for over 35 years and have no problems with them except the normal battery replacement.

I have this on a Mac Mini (SSD) + 27" Dell ultrathin. This adds up to 200-ish watts max consumpion which itself is pretty amazing. Running wattage more in the 120-ish range which should give 7 or 8 minutes to shut down and much longer if everything's sleeping.

Have been using APC battery backups for years. They typically last 4 or 5 years until the battery goes south which isn't bad. Hopefully about the same with this one. Like the new look. 4 battery backup plugs and 2 additional surge protection plugs is plenty for me. Have my PC, monitor, printer, speaker system, laptop and home phone. So far so good with this one!

I bought 2 of these a few months ago to solve the problem of power glitches resetting my router and the DirecTV DVR/controller and Amazon Fire unit. These are so small they fit easily within the TV console or on the shelf with my WiFi router. Note that ONE of these would have been plenty for ALL devices but they are in different rooms.

Nothing glamorous about this. It holds backup for a few light devices in case I get a power outage. It’ll be terrible when I have to use it but it’ll be those last few moments I’ll be online until they get the power back on. Last power outage, I got caught with my phone charged at 30% because it was after I got home from work. Never again.

Needed a power backup to ensure work desktop would stay on during power outages, at least long enough to close out programs and also long enough to make it through those annoying short outages. This one does the trick and is an APC dependable, the same manufacturer that provides back up power for our company's file server.

My husband purchased this actually to help out a missionary friend of ours in Kenya. It is lightweight and works in foreign countries. Our missionary friend has thanked us many times over for this battery as it is a tremendous help when power issues occur. Thank you Best Buy for carrying these wonderful products!

This is a good enough battery backup. I only needed enough power to shut the system down in the event of a power outage or surge. I only have the computer on when I am home and do not need to use it when the power is off. This would not be the model for you if you use the computer during power outages. It would not have a large enough capacity

Im using this for my modem and router. Has been working great so far but i wouldnt really trust a ups at this price point with too much more hardware. Id go with the $150 to $200 price point if you want to plug anything of value into a ups and if your wallet allows id go with a pure sine wave ups for higher end equipment like a gaming pc.

I use the APC for my modem and router, when blackout I don't like my electronic shut off instantly, im afraid its going to burn the montherboard, too much current at once. It was very easy to set up, nothing really needed, just plug in the battery and plug into the wall outlet, simple as that. Overall I love the new design, less bulky and taller than before.
