This was for my laptop that we use as our home computer, not a server. Mainly for the surge protection but in case the power goes out, I have time to finish, save data and power down.

this is a very economical UPS. the battery is replaceable, you just have to remove the top.

APC has been making back up battery systems forever and we use them at home and at work. If you have a home office you'll want one of these. Nothing is more frustrating than working on a big document and having a brown out or power outage and losing all your work. This back up power supply will give you enough time to save your document, get your tower shut down and unplugged (if it's a bad storm and you don't want to risk lightning/surge damage). Was on sale, so an even better deal. Glad that Best Buy continues to carry these. You should be able to get about 5 years out of a brand new unit. These probably aren't worth replacing the major battery in as they age like the older units were. This particular model is more entry level, not something I'd use for a main back up server, just my opinion, buy a better model.

I have been using APC backup UPS devices for nearly 20 years and they never disappoint.

This is a decent budget UPS that provides four widespread outlets with battery backup and surge protections (which is great if you are using adapters), and two outlets that - although doesn't have battery backup, is still protected from surges. This is perfect to provide 20 to 25 min. of power for a medium sized TV, cable box, internet modem/router, and one additional low-power device. Addequte to sustain for brief brownouts If just powering an modem/wireless router, it can provide power for an hour or more if you need to sustain for rolling black-outs and need to provide internet to your mobile device.

Purchase this item on Black Friday and so far I have no complaints. Product is great.

Needed a UBS for my new router and this unit filled the bill, both in size and price.

I bought this UPS to power my cable modem and one of my wireless routers. In Florida, we get a lot of summer thunderstorms which causes many power outages. Most power outages last for only a minute or two but, those disruptions cause the cable modem and router to reboot. So, the TV signal is lost as well as all internet streaming while the devices go through a 5 minute boot process. Many times, service doesn't come back and I have to cycle the power on one or both of the devices again. With this UPS, those power flashes don't affect my network devices and everything stays running. Even better, I never have to troubleshoot them to get them working again after a brief power outage. I also have the protection from power surges that could take down my network for days if the equipment is damaged.

this battery back up really does work, I have my internet cable modem plugged into it, and just recently the power went out buy my internet was still working, good product.
