This power supply is great at what it does; supply power to small/low wattage devices so you can safely power down with a reasonable amount of on time. If you are prone to small power outages or blips or even just need surge protection, this battery is a good choice. If you are looking for something to power your PC, or large items, this really isn’t the right choice for you and you should look for a larger UPS. I’m not sure why they decided to market it towards your modem and wifi because during an outage, you won’t have your tv or computer to use wifi but I suppose tablets or small mobile devices without a data plan would still work. Either way, I’m not interested in being able to post to instagram during a power outage as much as I am concerned with being able to shut down my NAS properly and sure, keep my network running during blips, because why not. For that, this works great. Power is very simple, it doesn’t matter what the device is, for example a iphone vs a pixel phone, they don’t use the same power draw, so when other back ups say “power your PC for 3 hours” etc, that’s not really helpful because it totally depends on how much power your PC draws. Luckily, this APC backup actually shows the average amount of time per watts used to give a much better idea of what you can expect. Furthermore, if you get a smart plug or a meter reader plug, you can see how many watts your devices are pulling and pretty quickly figure out an estimation of how long your battery will work. The box says at 10 watts you get 2 hours and 10 min, at 20 watts you get 1 hour and 25 min and at 75 watts you get 22 min. I haven’t had any power outages yet so I don’t know how well it will work during storms etc, but I was able to test it by simply unplugging the backup and it worked as advertised. The (annoying but useful) alarm sounded and I could hear it from anywhere in the house. There’s not a whole lot to say about this, it’s a pretty basic machine but it does that basic thing well. Sometimes we make devices capable of too much and they simply fail. This battery backup will supply power to your plugged in devices based on the wattage draw and give you time to shut down, or get those last few minutes of internet. That’s it, that’s all I need. I have seen people get creative and use them for supplying power in cars, camping, etc. but keep in mind, this specific battery is not big enough to power anything for very long. One other thing to note, this is NOT a removable battery. This UPS is designed to be cheaper and therefore the cost to replace the battery would be close to buying a new backup. I can’t say I’m a big fan of waste and throwing out giant batteries every 3 to 5 years is not ideal, but they do have recycling collection programs and I THINK APC will also take the product of your hands when the battery dies and they will recycle the parts. So that’s at least better, but if I was going to knock this thing for something, it would be the non replaceable battery. Larger UPS’ allow you to replace them and I understand WHY this one doesn’t, and that it is actually part of the selling point, but it is worth noting in a review so you, the customer, can decide if that matters to you. That said, I obviously still got this and am plenty happy with it. It’s small, compact, but still powerful enough to handle the low energy users in my network rack to make room for larger devices on a larger back up.

Good UPS for the cost. I didn't need a lot of battery backed up ports so this worked well. The spacing was pretty good for larger power cords.
