I’m using this for my TV area, eliminated a lot of cable clutter, and I feel better when I’m doing firmware updates, as I don’t have to worry about power loss bricking things. Trivially easy to set up and use.

The audio alerts do not seem to work as the manual says. Since there is only one button it says everything is controlled via that--but so far only thing we have seen is the on/off action. The audio alert (beeps) on/off (mute) does not seem to happen at all, but maybe we are missing some tight time frame on that control functionality. Either way is either difficult to use or doesn't function as listed. Otherwise unit seems to work well. Is a strong drawback that it does not have the USB connection to send shutdown alerts, etc. Make sure you are going to be using it on devices that don't care if they are suddenly powered off (network switch, router, charging, etc.).

Posted .Thank you for taking the time to review our BN450M. The unit offers a quick mute option by shortly pressing the power button for less than 2 seconds during an alarm. There is also the option to turn off the on battery alarm completely. With the UPS turned on, you can configure the on battery indicator modes by holding down the power button and waiting for the third beep. At the third beep, the power button will cycle red/green. Release the power button and its color will indicate the mode it is in. You can mute the on battery alarm permanently by pressing the power button so the mode selector is flashing red. Once the mode as been selected please wait 5 seconds for the settings to be saved to the UPS. The BN450M doesn't have the option for shutdown software because traditionally it used for smaller routers and modems. The feature is available in our BN650M1 which is the next step from the BN450M.
