This unit is phenomenal. Gives me an estimate of runtime on battery based on how much current is being drawn. It is consistent, reactive, and I would highly recommend it if your home is subject to brownouts like mine!

The Back up UPS was easy to install with instructions. Shipping was quick and on time. Unit powered on and charged and kept my pc and printers on for 15-20 minutes before power was turned back on during a black out. Would recommend for medium use devices that are not power hungry.

You want your gaming rig protected. Not only from viruses, but from power outages and spikes. This is it. This guy will protect your (hint: this is your list of must protect): PC/Mac; Router/Switches/Internet; at least 1 monitor. Do not use for laser printers (or any printer, for that matter). You want monitor your power system, APC provides PowerChute software that has been running on servers for decades. Its user configurable and and has a friendly interface. This was used during an outage and safely shutdown my rigs to prevent damage from power outages.

The APC Back-UPS Pro is a very effective battery backed power support system, featuring easy setup and configuration, reliable operation, and it's great to see that replacement batteries are readily available.
The 1500VA Tower version is very capable with 10 NEMA 5-15R outlets and a 900W total load capacity. All 10 outlets are surge protected, and 6 of the outlets are battery supported.
The Back-UPS Pro ships with an instruction booklet and other documentation, a custom USB data cable with a connector specific to the Back-UPS Pro data port on one end, and a quality assurance final test summary taped to the side of the unit.
Setup instructions are clear and easy follow. A side panel is removed to access the sealed lead acid battery unit, the red (positive) power lead is connected to the battery, the battery panel is replaced and the unit is powered on. The battery was initially almost fully charged.
The included instructions say to install PowerChute Personal Edition software. What you find on the Schneider
Electric website is that PowerChute Personal Edition is discontinued (the most recent version is v3.1.0 for Windows from June 11, 2019) and has been replaced by PowerChute Serial Shutdown software.
After connecting the USB data cable and installing PowerChute Serial Shutdown on an up to date Windows 11 Pro system, a desktop link is created and the Back-UPS Pro configuration and status interface is available through the default web browser.
It's pretty easy to get your arms around the PowerChute web interface by exploring it, and the help information is good at providing additional information. Status information showed that the battery was fully charged, and the equipment connected to battery supported outlets (a desktop PC, two monitors and a router) should run on battery for 45 minutes.
The Back-UPS Pro was configured through its web interface to shut down the desktop PC after 10 minutes of power outage, and to turn off its battery supported outlets 3 minutes later. The PC was left with a couple web browser tabs, a PDF document and a file browser open, and power to the Back-UPS Pro was disconnected. Windows was shut down after 10 minutes and power was turned off 3 minutes later, exactly as configured. AC power was reconnected, the PC was restarted and the Back-UPS Pro brought its batteries back up to full charge.
The only small issue I notice is a slight coil whine when the batteries are charging. I noticed this when I first plugged it in and again after checking power outage response, but don't hear anything when the battery is charged.
The APC Back-UPS Pro 1500VA is a very welcome addition to my office. It is easy to set up and configure, and does exactly what I expect it to do. It protects the PC, router and other connected equipment from power disturbances, allows the PC and router to stay up during brief outages, and makes sure the PC is shut down normally in the event of a prolonged outage.

Quick setup, works well out of the box. Accompanying data cable allows for device communication when switching to battery power. The user interface on screen is clear and easy to read very helpful to see the load on the device. Will happily get another if I have the need.

Regarding the APC - Back-UPS Pro 1500VA Battery Back-Up System: Let me start by stating upfront that our usage with this product is not normally associated with an APC product. We are using this as a battery backup for our on demand heating system. And works excellently. Most use this as a backup for a computer and /or the periphery associated with the same. But I will say that the power needs of our unit at Min/Max needs are met, and by calculation, will hold power for approximately 3-6 hours which is fine as historically our outages last about 1-2 hours or less. The APC company makes excellent products and we feel good about this one. Thank you Best Buy for having this product available!
Cheers

This is the second APC Backup power supply that I have bought. I bought one about 5 years ago for my office (computer, voip phone, and router) and it still works great. I bought another brand (cheaper) for my living room (security camera system) that died about a year ago so I bought this second APC and both are still working great. You can hear the click and the display lights up when there is a power surge so I know it is working. During power failures, they have kept our internet service, VOIP phone, computer, and security camera running without any problem. This is a great backup to have even if you have a whole-home generator since that 10-second delay would still drop your internet without the backup power supply. It keeps your business uninterrupted whether it is a brief surge or power is out for a couple hours.

I wanted a system to provide protection to both systems running in the house. Power can be flaky in the area. This unit provides backup to two computers, 3 monitors and a few other items. It gives about 21 minutes of backup time at system standby. If your in the middle of a game or such backup time is lower. There is enough to shut down properly. Had a recent power glitch and it worked like a champ. The alarm was a bit startling. The download monitor program from APC is fairly easy. Just note that power down is the default on the program options

I bought the 900 watt unit, probably bigger then i needed. But the price difference between all three wasn't that much. Set up was easy, be sure to download the power chute from the APC website.
I made an unboxing and setting up video. It's on my YouTube Channel, check it out.

I’ve only had it for a couple of months. So far it is working well. One thing I had issues with in setting up this with my electronics is the space between the outlets do not allow for some items to plug in without making the receptacles on each side not able to be used. I solved the issue by plugging in a heavy duty strip, being aware not to exceed the number of items plugged in.

For many years , I have been using APC products to protect my computer from power surges and power outage which are common here in the sunshine state of Florida during and after Thunderstorm and Hurricane season. This is a must have if you want to protect your investment. Batteries are replaceable but last 5 years or longer based on my personal experience. Would I recommend this product -without Question,Yes ! The Newer model provides you great details on watts and load levels in realtime.

Our radio station operates an FM translator which runs on 110 volt or 220, we choose the 110. When we upgraded from a smaller transmitter on an older APC unit, we wanted the same brand. The capacity of this one can handle the load of the new FM transmitter and some other minor rack equipment, and while it's loaded to above 90 percent, it is not complaining in any way, and the 3 minutes of approximate run-time at this load is more than enough time for our generator to fire-up if we lose grid power.
APC's warranty is excellent, and they stood by it when we had one unit go bad,and promptly received a replacement. I have nothing but good things to say about the APC products and their service.

Has been an excellent product since purchasing. Has enough battery to shut down tvs, game systems, computers, etc during unexpected power outage. Can also help keep internet/wifi for mobile devices running a bit longer as well once everything else is shutdown and/or unplugged.
Great device for protecting sensitive electronics.

During a power outage (which I have already experienced) this UPS will power just my router for way more than 2 hours. Add my TV, and Nvidia Shield with external hard drive, it will go for about 55 minutes. A+ I am glad I purchased this device.

My preference is APC brand. I have used a ups for years and have tried other brands but prefer APC. This model has more connections than I need but size is perfect to protect my equipment.

This power back up is so cool. I have a DS1522+ NAS hooked up to this APC power back-up. When the power is cut the Synology goes into action. In the Synology NAS they have an option to shut down the NAS and then send a signal to the APC to shut it self down. When power is restored, the APC turns its self on and then turns the NAS back on. Awesome stuff.
