Tired of power outages

After the third flash (off & back on) power outage of the afternoon, I'd had enough. I checked online and the APC - Back-UPS Pro had good ratings. A quick trip to Best Buy snagged me the last one in stock. I took it home and setup was a snap. I connected my TV, sound bar, cable box, and PlayStation to it. I've had a few flash outages since my purchase and everything has stayed on. I've been so pleased with my purchase that two days later I bought a second unit (from a different Best Buy) for our other TV.

This is the second one of these i have purchased. The first one is iver 4 years ol and ive never had any issues with it. This ine that i recently purchased od just to have power to my modem, router so i can have internet connectivity during a power outage. The APC unit has a solid build and does last. The older unit (same model) is for my desktop PC and two monitors. The display screen on the unit is very helpful. U can monitor the load and voltage. The USB-C port in the one i recently ourchased is a great addition. I have a phobe charging cavle plugged jnto it. The software fir monitoring the power isage is good, but ut needs an update to make it liok a bit more modern, but it gets the job done. With the software, you can also set the different alert levels fir power issues it is noticing with the house electricity. I strongly recommend this product. It is very easy to use.

Great apc for gaming PC's

Got this for my gaming PC and it works great during power outages and power fluctuations, holds up quite well even with my 7950x and rtx 4090 equipped rig .. at first I was wondering if it would keep up when the power went out but yea it does quite a nice job and don't miss a beat.. at idle I get about 20 minutes of battery time and gaming about 5 minutes which is long enough to exit and shut down properly.. there is also apc software you can download to auto shut down the PC when it gets to a certain battery level or after so many minutes on battery which is a nice feature... I see it as cheap insurance for surges and outages especially when you spend several thousand dollars on a nice rig , highly recommend this unit for sure

Provides battery backup in power outages

The area i'm living in is having alot of planned maintenance outages from SoCal Edison, so I invested in this UPS.
I'm powering: A cable modem, an Asus WiFi router, two desktops and two monitor. At about 300W idle load the UPS shows I have approximately 30 mins of battery run time. This is perfect as it is enough time to shutdown the computers safely and still power my modem and router.
I bought this mainly to keep my modem and router online. They both take an long time to re-establish a connection if power is lost.
The only downside and why I gave this four stars instead of five is due to a slight annoyance when running on battery power: The UPS makes a slight humming/buzzing sound this is slightly audible in a quiet room. This only happens on battery power and isn't heard when AC power is present.
I'm not sure if all units have this, but my unit had a QC receipt with all the tests it passed when it was assembled and tested.

This one replaces the one I bought back in approximately 2010. I got a battery failure error during our last power blip, and so I figured it was time for a new one. These devices also provide a conditioned source of power, eliminating the risks of voltage fluctuations (especially now that I live in Las Vegas) and keeping my computers safe. I also bought one for my 3D printers which claim to tolerate power outages, but if you’ve ever tested that theory you’d see that sometimes you get print failures, or at least a very visible “print line,” when the power comes back and they try to resume printing. I can’t recommend a better UPS brand, and in particular this 1550VA model, for most any residential equipment power and protection needs.

I got this to protect my NAS and so far it has worked great. The NAS has alerted me to power failures but was not affected due to the APC UPS. I like that I can glance quickly at the display and know that the unit is operating correctly. It was very easy to connect to my Synology NAS and the Synology software recognized the UPS without any issues.

Did you know that almost 10% of humans are old? That means that having a power button that is difficult to press (due to being low to the ground or recessed) means that when this thing starts beeping because the battery is depleted it’s unnecessarily difficult for my customers to press that power button. some of them use a cane for walking and they can’t easily press the power button with their cane because it’s slightly recessed. Having an easy-to-press power button at the top of the unit is an ideal configuration.

This APC unit is easy to set and use. APC provides a dual layer of protection against power outages, with surge protection on every outlet and battery backup for select outlets you can organize your cords such that it protects your computer. With the router & modem connected to the battery backup, we still can access the internet during power outages. This product is built to last.

NOT designed for CPAP Sleep Machine Backup

NOT FOR CPAP Sleep Machine ResMed AirCurve 10
I have several smaller APC units backing up various devices in my home. They generally don't last longer than 30 minutes, but that is what they are designed for.
Not doing any additional research, I figured that buying a more expensive APC would power my CPAP sleep machine (I have a ResMed Aircurve 10) for at least one night. I was wrong.
I got just under an hour of power for my sleep machine (ResMed Aircurve 10) during the power outage on 07-08-2024.
You can turn off the beeps on the machine, which is great, but the physical clicks are extremely loud, and they woke me up. As the power was cutting in and out - even when the lights stayed on - the APC was clicking on and off keeping the power continuous and clean.
I think I am going to put a smaller APC on my sleep machine and/or find a battery backup designed for CPAP machines.
Five stars because it is functioning as it should - just not for what I bought it for. It will ultimately move to my entertainment center to provide clean power/surge protection.

Excellent UPS to protect your devices.
The screen shows you the VA entrance, Watts consume, the current load, the time remaining according the current load of devices plugged.
I have connected 3 devices only:
- 1 Asus Monitor gamer 24"
- PC gaming (i7 9gen, 2060, 32ram, leds in case, in keyborad, in mouse, etc)
- PS5
When power went out:
- It gives me around 75-82 minutes with monitor and PC (using for basic things, web, office, etc)
- Around 50 minutes with monitor and PC (doing 3d models in Maya)
- Around 20-25 minutes with monitor and PC (when gaming)
- Like 15-20 minutes to shut down everything if I'm using the 3 devices at the same time (doing basic things in PC, and gaming in PS5)
I have other APC, but it is the 900VA capacity, and it is enough for a PC (like mine) and monitor, it gives your around 12-35 minutes depending what are you doing.

Simple setup. You can put it to use within 3 minutes of taking it out of the box. It is a little heavy, but entirely worth it. The customer service behind them is also amazing. Since you get a warranty included with the product purchase, they are responsive and informative in case any damage occurs to your products plugged into the device.

I bought this after a recent power outage and upgraded my older unit which I have owned for 15 years. Only had to replace its battery one time. This unit is in my main office area and I moved the older unit to power my bedroom HDTV and soundbar. I will be able to watch TV from my bed if we have another power outage.

A must have for electronic devices

I have been using APC Back-UPS's for more than a decade and have always been very satisfied. I recently bought two of the BN-1500 10-outlet models to support more electronic equipment in my house. I now have all my electronics connected to APC UPS's including computer, printer, DVD burner, computer speakers, game console, DVD player, ham radio equipment, TV's, modem/router, plus other musical and electronic equipment. We get a lot of quick power interruptions here in Florida and these UPC's have never failed me. They also keep the current at the optimum 120 volts. With 6 surge/battery backup outlets and 4 surge outlets in each unit, you have enough to connect all your electronics or non-electronic devices. I have always gotten more than 5 years battery life from all my APC UPS's and it's very easy to replace the battery if ever needed for another 5 plus years of usage.

Sturdy, powerful, quiet, lots of outlets & ports and affordable! What more could you ask for? This unit replaced an older, smaller UPS and gives me two additional battery-backed outlets in a similar sized enclosure.

This equipment has already kicked in once for a short flicker in our electric grid and has worked for a few small spikes here in Florida. Plenty of protected outlets and easy to set up and use -- replaced a 10 year old battery backup wen crazy - and we use APC on larger scale in our offices - read the reviews and bought the unit - very happy

I had a cyberpower one that actually caused damage to one of my devices that was attached to it when the cyberunit failed. New batteries in that one didn't work. Since I have used this same model in another location for my computer setup and it has been reliable for years to date, I decided to get another one of these.
