Thank you for taking the time to review our UPS. I am sorry to hear that you ran into issues with our unit. If you can I would try to remove all the connected equipment, disconnect the UPS from the wall outlet, disconnect the internal battery, and then hold the power button for around 10 seconds. Reverse the instructions to power the UPS back on to see if the issue clears up. If the issue still remains please reach out to an APCbySchneider support team. With several power outages in Southern California as of late, and more than ever (thank you Santa Ana Winds), we’ve realized that we’ve needed an APS unit to salvage our go-to electronics as well as be able to maintain some comms during outages. This has saved us for every time we’ve had a spontaneous outage for whenever SoCal Edison decides to cut power. We have a smaller unit for another part of our internet setup outside as well and we’re good for a few hours.
I greatly recommend buying one! If you are able for it to reduce in pricing as I did (bought during Black Friday), even better.

In today's digital age, ensuring uninterrupted power supply is paramount, especially for those who rely heavily on electronic devices. Enter the APC Back-UPS Pro BN 1500VA, a robust uninterruptible power supply (UPS) unit that promises to safeguard your valuable equipment while offering peace of mind. Having experienced its capabilities firsthand, I can confidently attest to its effectiveness and reliability.
Positives:
Reliable Power Protection: The APC Back-UPS Pro BN 1500VA provides a reliable backup power source, ensuring uninterrupted operation of connected devices during power outages or fluctuations. With its ample battery capacity, it can keep critical equipment powered for extended periods, allowing users to continue working without interruption or risk of data loss.
Versatile Connectivity: Equipped with multiple outlets, including battery backup and surge protection, the Back-UPS Pro BN 1500VA offers versatile connectivity options for a variety of devices. Whether it's computers, networking equipment, or home entertainment systems, this UPS unit can accommodate a wide range of electronics, providing comprehensive protection against power-related issues.
Intelligent Battery Management: One of the standout features of the Back-UPS Pro BN 1500VA is its intelligent battery management system, which maximizes battery performance and lifespan. Through automatic voltage regulation (AVR) and periodic self-testing, the UPS ensures optimal battery health, minimizing the risk of unexpected failures and downtime.
User-Friendly Design: With its sleek and compact design, the APC Back-UPS Pro BN 1500VA seamlessly integrates into any home or office environment. The intuitive LCD display provides real-time information on power status, battery capacity, and load level, allowing users to monitor performance at a glance. Additionally, features like audible alarms and LED indicators alert users to potential issues, facilitating timely intervention and troubleshooting.
Energy Efficiency: Beyond its primary function of power protection, the Back-UPS Pro BN 1500VA is also designed with energy efficiency in mind. Its Energy Saving Surge Protection outlets automatically cut power to idle peripherals, reducing energy consumption and saving electricity costs over time—an eco-friendly bonus that aligns with modern sustainability initiatives.
Negatives:
Limited Surge Protection Outlets: While the Back-UPS Pro BN 1500VA offers ample battery backup outlets, the number of surge protection-only outlets may be insufficient for users with numerous peripheral devices. This limitation could necessitate the use of additional surge protectors, detracting slightly from the unit's all-in-one convenience.
Audible Alarm Volume: Some users may find the audible alarms of the Back-UPS Pro BN 1500VA to be too loud or intrusive, especially in quiet environments. While the alarms serve a crucial purpose in alerting users to power-related issues, the inability to adjust the volume or tone may be a minor inconvenience for certain individuals.

Excellent Backup Power Supply

Excellent backup power supply. Bought it to backup my modem and router into in the event of a power outage. I haven't been put in a situation to actually need it yet, but according to the display, it'll last about 3 hours with both modem and router plugged in. I have tested it by unplugging it and it works just as advertised.

Almost 5 years later and still going strong. I have had a few power outages where this system has had to kick in and I was able to do the work needed to be done. Plenty of outlets for what I needed for it. Spacing is fairly well for oddly shaped plugs. Would buy again.

APC has been protecting computers for years. Their UPS systems are reliable and easy to setup. I bought four of this model for a one bedroom apartment. They protect electronic gear during the frequent power outages. The large capacity keeps electronic equipment running longer. It also supports LED lighting.
The UPS provides surge protected outlets. It can also protect your Ethernet and the line going to your cable modem (Spectrum etal). The USB ports can power a small light or fan.
Prevent future agravation. Order an APC UPS and enjoy using some products while power is restored. And more important, shutdown computers without loosing data.

APC Back-UPS PRO 1500VA Review

I bought this APC Back-UPS PRO 1500VA to replace a failed older APC 1500VA unit (also purchased at Best Buy) due to water damage. That unit was probably 15 years old and would have still worked if the damage wouldn't have occurred to it. I did have to replace the battery (about $50 online) in the older one, though, as it wouldn't hold a charge for too long because of its age at the time (about 8 years). The old unit still worked, but the relay(s) in it were shot due to the water damage (if power was lost, it wouldn't engage the battery power).
I have always used an APC Back-UPS 1500VA for my gaming computer/monitor/Cisco switch/coaxial cable for cable modem. This device "cleans" the incoming wall power and prolongs the life of your expensive and sensitive electronics, not to mention that it provides continuous power for your equipment from brownouts and power outages until your home power is restored again. I can have almost 40 minutes of backup power available for my computer/LED monitor if I am not computing heavily.
This new unit is also great because it has 2 USB outlets (my old one did not) to charge your phones (or anything that uses a USB cable) if the power should ever go out and you need a charge.
This unit is highly recommended.

If you live in an area with Brown-outs or Black-outs, or trees near powerlines, this is perfect. Completing your 300th playthrough of Skyrim, and you have neglected to save in 2 hours? The power goes out, the the LEDs on your ceiling go from their signature Purple to black. Your mom screams at you dad, "THE POWER IS OUT AGAIN!" Meanwhile, you are still playimg Skyrim, and remember you haven't saved. You save the game, you power off your PC, and you see you still have 17 minutes of charge left. You smile, knowing you saved yourself from replaying hours of work. All of this was possible due to your battery backup that your mom said was "A waste of money."

Had to replace an old unit and found this one for a good price. I have my TV, game consoles and AppleTV plugged into the battery backup portion. The USB-A and USB-C ports on the front if the panel are really convenient for charging controllers and other peripherals. Tested by pulling the power cable out if the wall and my systems remained online with an estimated runtime of about 19 minutes which is plenty of time to properly power down systems in the event of a longer outtage.

Did you know that almost 10% of humans are old? That means that having a power button that is difficult to press (due to being low to the ground or recessed) means that when this thing starts beeping because the battery is depleted it’s unnecessarily difficult for my customers to press that power button. some of them use a cane for walking and they can’t easily press the power button with their cane because it’s slightly recessed. Having an easy-to-press power button at the top of the unit is an ideal configuration.

I am in graduate school and was working on a long paper. Where I live we lose power often, which this one night we did and I lost all my work. This battery backup system is amazing. Again, just the other night I was working on a paper and we lost power. Immediately it kicks on and my computer is still powered up, gave me plenty of time to keep working then to save. Only down size is it is pretty heavy. The size doesn’t take up much area. Easy to setup, light up screen. Alarm turns on to let you know when you are working on batter. Has USB ports to power your devices.

Even though I returned this battery back up, it wasn’t due to any bad experience! I open the box and it was way bigger than I had anticipated. My house is not that big and where I was going to need to put it it would not have worked for me. It appears to be a very nice unit and had I hooked it up. I’m sure I would’ve been totally satisfied with it. Instead of ordering online, I will probably go into the store and look at other smaller options.

Provides battery backup in power outages

The area i'm living in is having alot of planned maintenance outages from SoCal Edison, so I invested in this UPS.
I'm powering: A cable modem, an Asus WiFi router, two desktops and two monitor. At about 300W idle load the UPS shows I have approximately 30 mins of battery run time. This is perfect as it is enough time to shutdown the computers safely and still power my modem and router.
I bought this mainly to keep my modem and router online. They both take an long time to re-establish a connection if power is lost.
The only downside and why I gave this four stars instead of five is due to a slight annoyance when running on battery power: The UPS makes a slight humming/buzzing sound this is slightly audible in a quiet room. This only happens on battery power and isn't heard when AC power is present.
I'm not sure if all units have this, but my unit had a QC receipt with all the tests it passed when it was assembled and tested.

My personal take on the APC1500

Yea, I always buy this every 3 - 5 years.
APC is on your side. We had these in our company and we have an Enterprise version too. Once thing nice about APC, you can call them up and there is someone on the other end ready to talk to you.
Cyber power you get an empty desk and no answer what so ever.
If you value your computer, laptop, PC, game station, etc, This is a must have.
What did it do for me? I plugged in my PS5 to it while updating using a surge protector, and the power went out. There goes my PS 5 and I could not recover it. Later, I had to buy a new one. Wonderful, I added the APC and it happened again the PS 5 finished updating and there were no issues.
I have a computer with 4 monitors, power went out for about 10 minutes, I was on battery. My computer and the network kept running. Mind you I bought 2 smaller 650va APC with battery backup that kept my network running. I was able to continue on playing for a while longer. Once I got down to 10 minutes left. I had to shut my computer down and again no issues.
Also I had a surge and my APC took it. One time I accidentally didn't plug all my computer equipment to the apc and it fried the board. I was lucky enough to buy the graphic card and mother board and everything else was reusable and I was back in business.
The next time the surge, or power drop happened, my computer did not have a single problem. The APC took care all of it.
Yea, so it is a life saver.
I replace the unit every 3 years but I rotate my equipment out. one of my old cyber power with battery stopped working. I have one on the computer getting old. So I bought a new one, use the new one on my computer, use the old APC 1500, and replaced the cyber-power one. The cyberpower one is slated for the electronic recycling dump.
In the end, it is worth it if you are trying to save your expensive PC. If you lose the apc, is nothing compared to your PC and montiors.
Lesson learned.

APC is good, but this unit has an issue

I have had APC backup units for many years. I purchased this one just a few months ago, on May 5, 24. After returning from a trip overseas I could not get the UPS to turn on so I could resume the computers attached to it to working status. Looking at the APC website there is literally no way to submit for a warranty replacement. There were, however, many steps suggested to try. I did as they instructed, disconnected the battery, held power button for 5 seconds, reconnected battery, plug in UPS, and it did in fact turn on. However, if I were not a person comfortable with doing such, these steps would have been meaningless. No number to call, no way to report a problem on the website. In the future I will look at other brands. Disappointing in a company like APC.
