Even though I returned this battery back up, it wasn’t due to any bad experience! I open the box and it was way bigger than I had anticipated. My house is not that big and where I was going to need to put it it would not have worked for me. It appears to be a very nice unit and had I hooked it up. I’m sure I would’ve been totally satisfied with it. Instead of ordering online, I will probably go into the store and look at other smaller options.

My personal take on the APC1500

Yea, I always buy this every 3 - 5 years. APC is on your side. We had these in our company and we have an Enterprise version too. Once thing nice about APC, you can call them up and there is someone on the other end ready to talk to you. Cyber power you get an empty desk and no answer what so ever. If you value your computer, laptop, PC, game station, etc, This is a must have. What did it do for me? I plugged in my PS5 to it while updating using a surge protector, and the power went out. There goes my PS 5 and I could not recover it. Later, I had to buy a new one. Wonderful, I added the APC and it happened again the PS 5 finished updating and there were no issues. I have a computer with 4 monitors, power went out for about 10 minutes, I was on battery. My computer and the network kept running. Mind you I bought 2 smaller 650va APC with battery backup that kept my network running. I was able to continue on playing for a while longer. Once I got down to 10 minutes left. I had to shut my computer down and again no issues. Also I had a surge and my APC took it. One time I accidentally didn't plug all my computer equipment to the apc and it fried the board. I was lucky enough to buy the graphic card and mother board and everything else was reusable and I was back in business. The next time the surge, or power drop happened, my computer did not have a single problem. The APC took care all of it. Yea, so it is a life saver. I replace the unit every 3 years but I rotate my equipment out. one of my old cyber power with battery stopped working. I have one on the computer getting old. So I bought a new one, use the new one on my computer, use the old APC 1500, and replaced the cyber-power one. The cyberpower one is slated for the electronic recycling dump. In the end, it is worth it if you are trying to save your expensive PC. If you lose the apc, is nothing compared to your PC and montiors. Lesson learned.

Awesome little unit, I had an old 750 unit and it couldn’t handle the load from my new pc build so I got the 1500 knowing the quality of the product and I’m very impressed with how much sleeker it is with the vertical standing design as opposed to the old horizontal setup. It also has the convenient display so you can see the load and battery backup info. You do have to connect the battery before operating but it’s not too bad at all.

The APC UPS works as designed and provides protection and battery back up power for 5 plugs. This will be vital when I am teaching a class and the power goes out due to monsoon thunderstorms. The UPS has my back and computer.

I bought 2 of these for our 2 aquariums and last night our power went out for the first time in years. Both battery backups worked flawlessly keeping the filters, heaters and lights working in both aquariums during the one hour outage. The battery backup on the 39 gallon aquarium went down to 137 and on the 55 gallon went down to 70. I assume the difference was the 55 having 2 lights and a canister filter vs a standard filter and one light on the 39 gallon.

The quality of the UPS is good. It offers feature like 2 USB ports, USB C and USB A. It’s strong enough to keep my system on during short power outages. I use it for NAS system to protect it from brown and black outs.

Works great for keeping my cable modem working during outages. With just the modem plugged in it gives me an estimated run time of about 179 minutes or just about 3 hours which provides internet for the length of most of my outages. I have another one with the same size battery (different brand) that allows my home server time to shut off and last about 40 minutes with my server running which uses about the energy of a high end desktop so depending on the devices you have plugged in you can probably expect between those two run times. My only complaint was the battery compartment was kind of a pain to get popped on in the dark (bought it during an outage) but that's my only problem. Overall very happy with the device!

I owned the previous model and it worked as described for 4 years. Battery finally went out. Went to my local BB and grabbed this one. Will definitely use Best Buy for all things they sell, especially due to price matching. Thanks, Dustin

I am absolutely thrilled with my purchase of the APC Back-UPS 1500VA. In a world increasingly dependent on consistent power supply for devices and systems, this unit is an absolute game-changer. Firstly, the 1500VA capacity provides an abundance of backup power, efficiently sustaining my home office during several power outages. The built-in surge protection has proven invaluable, shielding my expensive electronics from unpredictable voltage spikes. The unit's seamless integration with my systems is noteworthy. I am particularly impressed with the PowerChute software that provides automated, unattended shutdown, ensuring data preservation and system integrity during extended power outages. Furthermore, the design of the Back-UPS 1500VA is appealingly compact, fitting conveniently under my desk. It has a user-friendly interface with an easily readable display that shows important stats such as remaining battery life and load capacity. What sets this UPS apart is its ecological efficiency - the Green mode reduces power consumption by bypassing unused electrical components, aligning with my values of energy conservation. Finally, I must commend APC's excellent customer service, which has been responsive and helpful whenever I had questions. The 3-year warranty and $200,000 connected equipment policy offer an extra layer of reassurance in my investment. In conclusion, the APC Back-UPS 1500VA delivers on its promise of reliability and performance, providing an exceptional level of power backup security and peace of mind. Highly recommended for anyone needing a high-capacity, high-performance UPS. It is indeed a 5/5 star product.

No issues at all. The UPS does the job. It is the “simulated” Sine Wave version, but none of my electronics care, as they are all converting that AC back into DC anyway. It does buzz a little bit when on battery backup, but it isn’t very loud and only when the power is out.

This is the largest capacity gps seen for sale on most consumer sites. It has one USB A port and one USB C port on the front. The UPS has a datacable included and software that will track your power usage and activations. If your power local power is over/under voltage or you have blackouts this unit is for you. A high end gaming pc gets more than enough time to safely shut down in an outtage. These still use lead acid batteries because apparently that's still probably the best battery technology for this purpose. Replacement batteries will run you around a hundred dollars depending on if you buy regular or deep cycle batteries from a company such as batteries plus. I've had quite a number of APC products over the years and all have been good units. My current unit had been serving me for 6+ years and my newer toys can use the USB C port capabilities so I just went ahead and replaced it with a new unit. I'll probably use the old one on another computer or just keep it to charge the phone and tablets if the power goes out. Fortunately the new house in NC doesn't have near the power outtages I had in Pinellas County, FL but I still believe in having a UPS even if all it does mostly is catch power brownouts and surges. If your PC runs 24/7 a UPS is a good investment to protect your expensive components and your sanity.

I purchased two of these for our home office and in the last 4 weeks, they've already protected us from blackout/brownouts at least 5 times. Living in a rural area with notoriously unstable power, they've kept us powered up and working remotely without interruption. Even with my gaming PC, 2 27" monitors, router, laptop, and a lamp plugged in, I have more than sufficient time to save and safely shut down. The power hasn't gone out long enough to do so but I estimated at least 25 minutes of power before that would be required. I'm not sure why I didn't invest in these years ago! Please pardon the dust bunnies on the floor, I haven't swept in a couple days!

APC uninterruptible power supplies have been my go-to for many years. I maintain a running server system in my home, and it is extremely important that it never experiences an unplanned shutdown so it is vital that I have a battery backup solution in place. The Back-UPS Pro series of UPSs has many nice features including information about power usage and potential run-times that helps me to be knowledgeable about the level of protection that I have available.

The packing was fine. Unpacking and setting up was easy. The directions were easy to follow, and the UPS works as expected. I like the controls and it appears to be well built. My power went out the 2nd day I had the UPS. With a full battery charge it supplied power for about one hour to run my router, cable modem, telephone modem, 27" monitor, and Vtech telephone. It was also interesting to find out that the UPS automatically kicks in whenever I start my laser printer by sending it a print job. Probably because the inrush current to the printer is large enough to affect the voltage of the line that the UPS is connected to. I would buy this product again.

The APC Back-UPS Pro are wonderful ways to protect electronic devices from power surges as well as unexpected power outages. I go a little bit too far with the battery back-up units and have more than a dozen around the house. I protect all of my computer equipment as well as my TV/video system. I have a projector and it came with a warning, do not unplug the projector while it was operating, or it is possible that the bulb could be damaged. I was there when someone tripped over a cord and unexpectedly disconnected power to a projector at a trade show class and within a few seconds, there was a "POP" and the bulb exploded. I was watching a movie on my video projector when power went out. The UPS automatically kicked in and prevented any damage to the bulb; the bulbs are very expensive. I have also been able to do controlled shutdowns of my computers when power was unexpectedly lost. If you have a UPS and it saves one nice piece of electronic equipment or allows you to save the work you are doing on a computer rather than loose progress and possibly have corrupted data, I feel it is very much worth it. Just be aware that you will usually need to replace the batteries in the UPS about every 4-5 years.
