The biggest things that you would need to do is connect the internal battery, connect the power cord to the outlet and then plug in. If you wanted the computer to shutdown during a power outage when the battery is low then you would need to run the USB cable from the computer to the UPS. Will not switch to battery/defective battery
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When I initially unpacked the UPS, flipped the battery, and installed it, the UPS said the battery was at 100%. I thought this odd since it was manufactured in November. I let it charge overnight anyway and the next day I installed the software and ran the self test. PC immediately powered completely off. I turned it back on and simulated a power failure by removing power to the UPS. Same thing happened. UPS does not switch over to battery power. At peak power I am only using 20% of the UPS wattage. When I pulled the battery out to inspect it, I did note one of the two metal tabs appeared to be missing. When I re-inserted the battery again it showed 0% charge and would not take a charge. I think the battery was damaged upon manufacture or testing. I returned but will try again when my BB certificate is available to use again. Will update my review when I get a replacement.
