Nice iPad suited for most needs
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice iPad suited for most needs. 10.2 inch screen (used to be 9.7 inches diagonally) for more screen area. A10 chip is plenty fast for most applications (each generation chip, numbered consecutively, gets faster and faster. Loads web pages and streaming videos faster than my PCs. Battery life is easily 3-5x that of a laptop, but depends on how aggressively you are using it. Great for email, reading, surfing the web, playing games, and usual office tasks (word processing, creating presentations, etc). Buy a keyboard if you want a real keyboard instead of using the keyboard that displays on the screen. If you don't need a large screen and can use apps that suit your needs, this can replace your laptop. The iPad, even with keyboard, will be lighter than any regular laptop or Chromebook. This will also be much more powerful than any Chromebook. If you want a bigger screen, there are different versions of the iPad with larger screens and more features. Deciding between iPad and Microsoft Surface Pro will depend on preference. Both look and feel about the same, with and without keyboard. The main benefit of the Surface Pro is that it runs the full version of Windows that you may need for your software. The iPad only runs iOS, which is a simplified version of the Mac operating system. Surface Pro also comes in different levels of processors depending on how powerful you need it to be.

The new ipad Gen 7
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With the gen 7 apple forks the iPad line again. Now there are at least 5 current iPad models counting the mini and At least 4 full and king sized pro models. This is the base model I would assume with the new air, pro small and pro ginormous size above it. I see this gen 7 model as the successor to the previous air2 with the new air model being the true new fork in the iPad line. This is really easy to set up if you already have a iPad or iPhone... simply hold the older one ( running iOS 11 or above) close to it and it’s almost automatic. You will need to have a current backup of your older device on iCloud to do this however. I compared the speed on loading web pages and emails with my iPad air2 from 2016 and it seems a tad faster but even the old air 2 is mostly limited by your internet connection for most tasks. As for battery life I guess I’ll see. I’ve owned every iPad since the original iPad 2 circa 2011 and have seen that Apple iPads have excellent battery life even at 4 years of age with fairly heavy use. This one is compatable with the Apple Pencil (only the 1st gen pencil) but I haven’t seen the need to get one of those for my use. The screen is a tad larger then my air 2 but even side by side you barely notice. I would say that unless you have a real need for the new iPad Air or iPad Pro this one would be the model to get. This one is much less expensive and will do most anything outside of some specialized tasks (heavy artistic or things that require the 2nd gen pencil) that you are likely to be doing. The bottom line for most current iPad users is that if you have a 3-5 year old air 2 this might be worth considering but don’t count on noticing a big increase in speed. If you are happy with the current speed and battery life of the air 2 then this probably isn’t worth the upgrade yet.... I’d wait till they are discounted on Black Friday or some other event. For older ipads ( original air or earlier) this likely makes sense as a upgrade. I bought and would only recommend the 128GB version as the other offering is 32GB and it’s possible to completely the memory on those if you have lots of apps. It seems that every app gets updated every week and all apps get bigger every time. I would image that if you get the 128GB version you will not be wanting a new one for 4-5 years, maybe longer.

It’s a great iPad.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve owned 5 iPads before this one, they’ve all been flagship models, including 3 iPad Pros. The main differences I’m noticing between this iPad and the more expensive models available is no P3, TrueTone, and Pro Motion display features (i.e. wider color gamut, ambient light detection, and higher refresh rates), you’ll get 2 speakers instead of 4, and the older generation of TouchID is a little bit slower to unlock. With that out of the way, if you can find this 128GB model on sale like I did ($100 off or more), you’re getting a great deal and a lot of iPad for the money! This display is still beautiful, 10.2” is a great size. I’ve owned a 12.9” iPad and I’m happy to be back with the more standard size. I’m also happy to continue having a headphone jack, as I use audio and music applications where it comes in handy. The A10 chip inside may be a few generations older, but iPadOS still runs smooth, performance is solid, and this iPad is handing everything I’m throwing its way with ease. I’m sure many businesses and educational institutions will be buying this model in large quantities, so it’s in Apple’s best interest to keep performance well-optimized for quite a few years to come. Compared to the more expensive iPads I’ve owned, I find the experience of using this iPad still feels premium, and I commend Apple for the value they’re offering here. As far as tablets are concerned, iPads really have no competition at this point (they’re the best), and at this price you certainly won’t find anything better.

2nd bad screen for me, no more apple for me
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought my ipad Dec 2019. Jan 2021, just over the year mark, my ipad’s on my bed in a case and I pick it up and my thumb went through the top left of the screen! Are you kidding me?! Ridiculous. Second ipad with a bad screen. You won’t get me a 3rd time Apple. So beyond angry.

A Thing of Beauty
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just wonderful. Set up in a few minutes with my iPhone 7+. Beautiful vibrant clear display. Have 128G. Super fast. Apple, you exceeded my expectations on this one thank you for seeming small stuff....adding day of week (7+ NOT), as well as speaker jack at top. THANK YOU. Very fast, battery keeps on going. Speakers alone even acceptable. Screen image very very good. My older pictures look like live images. Needed larger than my old iPad mini 2, which served me perfectly for 7 years. Got this on Black Friday $100 off and gift cards I had. Someone said it’s heavier than they expected Really? No kidding. You don’t even notice after about an hour. Just amazed at how EVERYTHING looks so much better! I have NEVER been disappointed after 15 years of using Apple products. My Android-ite sister says they are so complicated. Yes, I’ve had questions but when I had to call Apple Support, they were always able to help, quickly respond and are totally knowledgeable. Always there to help (no matter how old your product). I allowed rep to remote Into my phone and rep solved my questions.

I'm so glad I decided on this instead of iPad Air
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not a tech person and honestly this is my first iPad. I know it's horrible that I waited this long to get one but I decided to take the plunge and get it. First off, I only needed to do basic activity on it. I debated whether I should get the iPad or iPad Air. The Air just seem to offer more and it does and if I'm going to get it then I should get the best one possible right? Not exactly. At the end of the day, you really need to decide what you need it for. I didn't need to spend the extra for the Air and I am very satisfied with my purchase. My daughter is 5 years old and will use the kid apps on it and this is a major upgrade from the Kids Amazaon Kindle she had before. Plus it seem like a logical purchase since her school use iPads in the classroom. It's all the same sort of but I didn't want her to not be able to navigate IOS or iPad. For me, there was no reason to spend extra to get the iPad Air so I didn't. I thought I might regret it but I don't. I love this device. It works great. My daughter loves it. It hold a charge really well. I can go days without putting it on the charger. I really have no complaints. It's just seem like the right move since I have two Macbooks in my home. The price is really not bad and if you can catch it on a sale like I did then it's definitely worth it. Literally Best Buy had a one day sale where the 128GB was $100 off. I wouldn't get the 32GB, 128GB is definitely the way to go. Oh I've used the 6th generation iPad before and you definitely notice the upgrade.

Undeniably the best tablet experience available
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Full disclosure: I'm not a fan of Apple in general. I couldn't own an iPhone. I tried...but I prefer the experience of Android. I couldn't own a Mac as my main computer, either. I've been a PC guy through and through for my entire life. I crave the flexibility and potential for customization that the Windows/PC experience offers. However, even someone like me cannot argue for one second that with the iPad, Apple has delivered the best tablet experience, hands down. I've tried Android tablets, none of them delivered a satisfactory experience. I own a Surface as my daily driver, which does a serviceable job as a tablet in a pinch, but really it just gives you portable access to a full desktop experience, which has its value in certain situations, but it doesn't fulfill the dream: It's still really just a portable PC. But the iPad, especially this generation, with its nice price, brilliant and slightly larger screen (even in this basic model), speed of functionality, and unmatched battery life in terms of mobile devices simply cannot be beat. They nailed it, and everyone else is still, after all these years, playing catch up when it comes to the tablet experience. Even if you're a dedicated Android phone/PC guy, I truly believe everyone needs an iPad in their life.

My first iDevice
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a lifelong Windows and Android user, I've always felt that the Apple ecosystem was just not for me -- it didn't offer enough customization and control over things that I wanted to be able to have control over. That said, the entire rest of my family all have iPhones and I'll be honest -- I felt a little left out of all the "blue bubble" goodness (especially being able to send videos over text/iMessage!) That's why I decided to compromise: instead of trading in my Android phone or Windows PC for an iPhone or MacBook, I would just get an iPad to replace my old 2013 Nexus 7 tablet. And thus I stepped into the Apple ecosystem after all. ... and it really hasn't been as bad as I thought. There are many things that Apple does right, and the combination of speed, price, and build quality on this iPad is one of those. Does the non-laminated screen feel a bit plasticy and thin? Sure, and the A10 processor is now a few years old as well. But honestly, considering the price of this 7th Gen iPad, the amount of processing power you get and the overall build quality of this iPad, I feel like this is a steal, even for an Apple device. Aside from the occasional slowdown or glitch, the UI moves smoothly and seamlessly, apps open and switch quickly, and the screen is a beauty even without all the extra goodness of the Air or Pro lines. The speakers can get decently loud (though they are only on the bottom of the iPad, so no true stereo sound) and WiFi/Bluetooth connectivity is strong. For video streaming, Netflix, Youtube, music, internet browsing, email, and casual games, you really can't go wrong with this lowest-tier iPad. Will they be replacing it with a newer, faster, better one in a year or less? Of course! But that's going to be the case WHENEVER you buy one, and I'd rather have a lesser something I can use now than not have anything to use while waiting for something better. So yes, all in all I am quite happy with my purchase, plus it's helped me overcome some of my anti-Apple bias. I still doubt I will ever use an iPhone myself, but at least I won't embarrass my daughter with my green bubbles anymore!

Good tablet with a nice screen and headphone jack
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recommend getting a nice case with a kickstand or tilt. I got the ProCase with the rotating kickstand and I find that great. Without a kickstand, it is difficult to watch laying down due to the viewing angle. Pros: I think the screen on the iPad looks terrific. The iPad is easy to use and good speed. The 128GB version provides a good amount of space. This model still has a headphone jack. Yay! Cons: The screen's viewing angle doesn't allow viewing while laying down unless you hold it or use a case with a kickstand or tilt. I wish the iPad provided multiple profiles to make it easier to share with my son. He has a Kindle Fire Kids tablet, but my iPad is better for some stuff. Without multiple profiles I have to watch my son otherwise he can get into my e-mail and everything (not that he would on purpose at his age).

the new iPad is the best cheap tablet to buy
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Apple's new cheapest iPad brings the biggest physical change in years to the budget option. For most people, it's all the tablet they'll really need – a sharp 10.2-inch screen, a speedy Apple A10 processor and tons of apps are what make all the difference. It's a really great tablet – there's no obvious compromise on performance, it's a generous screen size, the battery life is good, and it's easy to expand with a keyboard cover or Apple Pencil.

Great
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use iPad Pro and love it so much, I bought this iPad for my daughter who is taking classes online right now. Price is great and does as much as iPad Pro the way I use. (I’m not artist, so just use for work). As far as I reviewed differences online from various youtubers, it was a good choice for a student with performance, size, weight, and price. Needless to say, apps sync instantly between different Apple products.

Perfect for my use
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this to replace an older version ipad. Needed more than 32GB of space, so chose this model. It is faster than my old ipad, has much more storage, and the price was reasonable. I have a mobile hotspot option on my cell phone service, and that works very well for the few times I need to use the ipad away from a wifi network. Unit has a nice display and is easy to use.

Replaced my really old iPad
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old iPad was no longer supported and no longer had updates and still i used it for years. Since my first iPad served me so well, I had to replace it with another. I have twice the storage on this one, a modern processor, and a way better screen. I love how solid and reliable my previous iPad was. I am hoping for a long life from this one. So far I love the upgrade.

7th Generation iPad
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A great replacement for my 5th generation iPad which I damaged to where the keyboard wasn’t properly working. This iPad’s screen is a bit larger and, more importantly, it is quite a bit faster. Have enjoyed this new iPad in the last month. I chose the 128 gig memory which is plenty for my use. The price was very reasonable for what you get in this iPad.
